- Q: I have bought seveal pc chairs all of them seem to have wide arm rests so basically the length between both my arms (66mm)are very wide apart and I now got RSI because of it. - You have to look at the chair in its original context. Look at other furniture from 1929 and you won't see anything else like the Barcelona chair. Mies van der Rohe and Lily Reich were pioneers for designing this chair from heir choice of materials, minimal lines, construction (stainless steel had just been developed). When properly built to original specs, it takes a lot of high quality materials and skilled labor to produce -- around 28 hours of labor is involved. $3900 is not much for 28 hours of labor considering all the sales people, craftsmen, managers, suppliers, delivery people, laborers needed to build and move one chair. Plus all those people require work buildings, offices, insurance, cars/trucks, phones... etc. $3900 only gets you the cheaper model, there is one made of higher grade materials at $6,000. When the chair was originally designed, it did not sell for that dollar amount, the price has been adjusted for inflation, but it still was not cheap back then, it is and will always be an exclusive item. Surely, the chair can be mass-produced by machine now and sold for cheap at Target, but then it wouldn't be an exclusive item anymore. BMW and Lexus could cheapen their products for everyone to have, but then, why bother? There are Corollas and Ford Focus for the ones who don't want to/can't spend the money. By the way, it's not a simple chair at all, it's very complex, it just looks simple because in the past 7 decades, other chair designers were inspired by that iconic design. It;s iconic because it was ground-breaking, an original thought at the time. To say it is simple is to say paper is simple... yes it sort of is, but it took humans millions of years to get around to inventing it.
- Q: My mother in law got a chair for my baby shower. I had invisioned a regular baby shower chair with a round high back.. instead she brought a beat up old Wicker rocking chair. I don't know how to tell her nicely I don't like the chair and don't want it for my baby shower. - well I don't know about you but I'd be blunt but if you wanna be nice you have three options 1 is you can throw thing in a dumpster and say you lost it, someone stole it or it broke 2, is you buy a regular chair and say someone got it for you, you bought it or you had spare one in a closet then say you'd much rather use this one and 3 is if you don't want to lie and the thing doesn't look sturdy, and that's to tell her that you don't think it will support anyone's weight.

- LOL I don't know if it's my favorite, but it's where I spend most of my non working time, my desk chair. Since most of my work is out in the field, building something or fixing something, the rest of my time is at the computer or doing paper work. So this is the chair that I feel most comfortable in. It's not fancy, but I did get one that is comfortable to sit in. I do have other chairs and a sofa in the house, but except for watching a foot ball game or something like that, I don't use them very often. My dog has even claimed the sofa as his own LOL Just me I guess

- In New Zealand they can. The airline usually seats them in the front seats which can be removed. Not sure re business class.
- Q: ok so i was sitting in my leather chair and a flea hopped onto my paper i was workin on then jumpe into the edg of the chair s a few mins i scratche my leg and he jumped next to me again, i freaked out thinking what if theyre living in my chair? i HATE fleas. i have a big room w/ alot of stuff on the floor, do you think this is why they might be here? bci havent vacumed in a while? what do i do about the chair? is ther some kind of sticky pad i could lay on there that might attract them? think theyre attracted to heat? is that right?
- They won't just be living on the chair but in the carpet as well. You need to clear the floor and vacuum. I had trouble with fleas recently and had to spray the carpets, I used a natural based insect spray. If all else fails you may need to flea bomb the place. Get any pets treated as well. Supposedly fleas are attracted to light, if you put a lamp over a container of water they are supposed to jump towards the light and end up falling into the water. This isn't just a one off treatment, they lay eggs that are just waiting to hatch. Even if the room is locked up and not used for a while the flea eggs are supposed to survive until they sense movement.
