Q: I live with 2 kids and 1 cat so my home is heavily travelled and I can not seem to find a vacuum cleaner that works for more than 5 times. I have a Eureka right now which I was told was great for catching pet hair.It sucks. I need a good vacuum that will pick up cat hair, pine needles from the Xmas tree, etc. One that does not break the bank.: Problem isn't the vacuum, it's the bags. You have to change the bag often if you have a lot of dirt and pet hair. The alternative is a bagless unit.

Q: I need to buy a vacuum but I don't know what one I should get! Some help please?It needs to be able to go from carpet to hardwood. Actual Hardwood.And I would rather have bag less then bagged.Any suggestions?: Kirby is good and lasts forever, but uses a bag Rainbow is awesome, it vacuums into water, so you just dump it down the drain. I hear the cyclone ones aren't all they're cracked up to be.

Q: My vacuum cleaner has recently lost all suction. I've cleaned out the filters, and made sure the tubes aren't clogged with gunk, and everything is pretty clear. Any other suggestions? Q: I have acctually been asking this question for a number of years and have to admit that I am more interested in peoples reaction to the question than in a prosaic answer. However I wouldn't be oppossed to a definative answer from someone who builds the things. Just because I find it a silly place for a headlight doesn't mean theres not a valid reason for it being there.: I like to vacuum in complete darkness and find the headlight a necessity. I'm obviously kidding and the only thing I can think of is when you vacuum under chairs or beds it shows anything you may not want to vacuum up.

Q: We are looking into buying a new vacuum, I are newly married I really don't know what a good vacuum is since I don't have much experience taking care of a home by myself.Our price range is $0-$200. Although a fantastic vacuum cleaner, they are well overpriced. You are really buying the brand name. The Dyson Ball is the most maneuverable vacuum cleaner on the market. Its very light weight therefore has problems extracting dirt. Very poor performing from that perspective. Even consumer reports ranks Dyson vacuum cleaners low. Last month I actually purchased a DC-17 and Hoover Windtunnel + Cyclonic to test. The Hoover Windtunnel + Cyclonic outperformed the Dyson on a dense frieze carpet. The Hoover was mainly better at extracting dust from the carpet. I believe the Hoover Windtunnel + Cyclonic still sells for about $195.00.

Q: I know this may sound ridiculous, but whenever my parents run the vacuum cleaner, I get a really bad headache and I really want to get out of the house. I think it's because it's so loud, it blocks out every other sound and the sound is so annoying it's like nails on a chalkboard.Except that doesn't explain the panic attacks I get when I hear that sound 75% of the time. =/Any advice? Please?: So you have a phobia for vaccum cleaners. A phobia is defined as being scared something will happen in the future. (Something like that) So the only thing you can do or the best thing to do in my opinion is to face it. Its a treatment actually. What you do is stay there when they vacuum. And even when your anxiety raises to the top. Because the way panic attacks work is they go up, and they hit the ceiling, and have to lower. So if you stay there, and let your anxiety peak, then lower back to regular. The fear that something bad will happen in the future will disappear. Or weaken largely. Because your sitting there, and nothing is happening, and even though you know inside nothing will happen to you your mind still reacts that way. (Like some people are afraid of bunnies) So sit through the vacuuming and I am sure that you will be able to face it time after time after that :D

Q: Why not Mops or Vacuum Cleaners? Where did the tradition come from?: ancient myths in which people would straddle a broom to determine the height crops should grow for the coming harvest, is but **ONE** theory. Naturally mops and vacuums didn't exist during those times.

Q: Where is the cheapest place to find a Dyson vacuum cleaner? I missed out on a sale at HomeDepot and am kicking myself for it! Anyone know someplace good?? They usually retail for $399. Thanks!: My husband and I own a housecleaning company and sometimes our customers request we use their personal vacuums as opposed to the one we supply when we clean. We have used Dyson's on several occasions, and personally, they are completely overrated. The suction seems to be good, however, so are most vacuums nowadays. It is also complicated to unhook the hose/nozzle and the nozzle is so long, it is impossible to angle it into small areas. It is heavy as well. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone (and for the record, don't buy into an Oreck either - they are even worse and are just as expensive). For our company, we use the Eureka Smart Boss. It was rated a best buy by Consumer Reports and has the Good Housekeeping Seal (something Dyson doesn't have). It's suction is great, the hose is easy to manuver, and it has a sealed Hepa Filter. The only con about it is the weight but then again, most vacuums do weigh around 20 pounds. There is also a new vacuum Eureka came out with recently called the Eureka Capture. It looks like it will be a good vacuum as well and it looks stylish coming in three different colors.

Q: I desperately need a small canister vacuum as my husband and I are disabled and they are very easy to use. Also has to be reasonably priced, new or used.: there is a kone one at big lots that is great and decorative when not in use. i use it and it does great! it was 18 bucks! and it was eureka i think!

Q: How do I repair the motor of the vacuum cleaner?: If there is no access, you need to change the brush, you can also take the vacuum cleaner to the electrical repair shop for replacement. If you can not maintain the motor, you may want to consider replacing a new vertical vacuum cleaner,
