- Q: Iam supposed to do costing for a modification that we are doing for a hand held vacuum cleaner, the modification is an retractable arm.I want to know how are hand held vacuum cleaners manufactured, (forging, extrusion, injection molding??) What would be the cost??Any help thanks
- Look at the hand held vacuums they have in the store. If the housing is plastic, it is a 99.99% chance it is injection molded. If it is made of metal it could be extruded if it has a constant cross section along its length. Aluminum is a very common extrusion metal. I would doubt any high volume hand vac would have a forged housing, but I don't get out that much. Casting and machining is a possibility. As far as costs, it all depends on the life of the tool, and the number of cavities for a mold or a casting. If you mold/cast one part at a time it is much more expensive than two or four or eight. The more you mold at once, the bigger the molding/casting machine and the more expensive the mold/casting. So it depends on how many you want to make in a given amount of time, and how many through the life of the product. Finally, for your modification, do you have a design with drawings and a volume target? That is the first step to figuring out costs.
- Q: any specific brands or models? I'm looking for under 200 dollars, thanks
- Yes, Washing machine................Soak your pet in soap water..........and then put him in washing machine...............and wash him........and do not put him in dryer.............just dry him outside in scorching heat of the Sun..............!!!!!!!!!!
- Q: Any advice, anyone?
- Well I dont know if it is inexpensive but it is very important the vacuum has a power head to separate the carpet fibres to lift the pet hair, I have a SEBO and with several cats it does the job perfectly. I found cheap vacs with no power head are useless.
- Q: need a new belt for my vacuum cleaner
- Small appliance repair shop
- Q: What vacuum cleaners would you recommend besides hoover. The price is not important ?
- Personal preference aside, bagless vacs are notoriously expensive to own. There are usually 2-3 filters that can set you back $40+ anually, and don't forget, THEY ARE ALWAYS DUSTY. My favorite is a Panasonic, bagged, HEPA quality vacuum. It goes for about $200 and it has a great feature: motor by-pass. This means the motor is not IN the path of the debris you are sucking up, but the motor is behind the bag. Say goodbye to motor clogs and worse, jammed/seized/broken motor fan assemblies! Dysan is good out the box, but it is impossible to get parts down the road, so they are becoming 'disposable'... and at $400+ that is not good. In addition to Panasonic, my customers have have nothing but great reviews on Fuller (yes, the Fuller Brush Man!) and Sanitaire.
- Q: Does anyone have any experience with Infinity vacuum cleaners?
- get the consumers report for the month of October. they have the ratings for vaxs
- Q: The vacuum cleaner is a Toshiba brand (VC-702EX). I tried checking the local hardware shops but I can't find it anywhere. They are only selling filters for new models of vacuum cleaners. I can't even find the local Toshiba distributor here.
- You okorder , but try asking the hardware store to special order a case for you. They normally have a special order department.
- Q: I need the upright vacuum cleaners found in consumer reports can this be found local or online?
- anywhere......You did not state which one?
- Q: It's really a simple engineering principal, four fixed wheels like to go in straight lines. Where as a ball can move it in any direction. So in clear choice, easy turns with minimal efforts, or do it the old fashioned way. It's quite amusing that a vacuum cleaner and its complexities completely destroy Evolution. And yet it's treated as fact, sigh.
- The Pope, Catholic Church, Church of England and mainstream churches all accept the big bang and evolution! Lord Carey the former Archbishop of Canterbury put it rather well – “Creationism is the fruit of a fundamentalist approach to scripture, ignoring scholarship and critical learning, and confusing different understandings of truth”! Nice that christians and atheists can agree and laugh together even if it is at fundie expense! But behind the laughter is the despair at the fundamentalists striving so hard to destroy christianity by turning it from a religion to an ideology! Surveys suggest that 29% of American christians are so extremist in their beliefs that they fall well outside of the accepted bounds of christianity! Only when you enter the gates of hell will you realize you have been working for the devil and the antichrist!
- Q: iRobot Roomba Scheduler Vacuuming Robot; does it pick up dog fur from carpets?
- I have the home vac (the Sage - which is designed for pet hair) and LOVE it. Now, I only have a cat - not a dog but it works great!!! This is my 2nd Roomba I am hooked. I too, am looking into the pool vac. So far, have read great reviews. Good luck. P.S. Roomba support is wonderful if not satisfied, return policy is great easy.
