It is lightweight and works great. All the filters are washable and it is bag-less.I can not remember what Hoover named it but it is a deep red, with the spin attachment (you'll know what I'm talking about as soon as you see it) I payed about $130 for mine and got it right at Wal-mart. It's worth trying, Wal-mart is pretty good about taking stuff back if you feel it didn't work properly for your needs. I think you keep it though.

So, so frustrating!!!!!!: You need to be more careful about what you are trying to vacuum. Vacuum cleaners are not meant to vacuum everything. Get a shop vacuum if you don't want to be careful. Shop vacuums can vacuum water!

If you can find a store that sells one. I'd check in the yellow pages for commercial cleaning supplies. Expect to pay a significant premium. It will not have more suction. The plastic bits will be replaced by metal and it will have a longer cord.

All vacuums are stong and pick up at first. The Dyson is horrible, simply put. Very heavy, clog often and noone wants to repair them. The Dirt Devil company has made better vacuums as of late, but I would would recommend a Sanitaire vacuum which will give you more longevity and eventually you will want to get a canister. Sanitaire vacuums are made for commercal use, but can be used in residential settings and are very strong and just above your price range. We had the supposedly top-rated (by Consumer Reports) Hoover Windtunnel upright prior to our Dyson (which Consumer Reports has no use for). There is no comparison. I have to empty the Dyson at least three times every time we vacuum our 1400 sf house. I could go a month without replacing the bag on the Hoover. Plus, Dysons don't catch fire. I've seen ads for other makes showing their models picking up ball bearings and all kinds of stuff. Next time I need to pick up hundreds of marble-sized steel ball bearings, I'll buy it.

The woman was very understand and went through it fast. When they were getting ready to leave the big boss came in. I am assuming to close the deal. He went throught the demo all over again. Does anyone know anything about the Dyson?: My momloves her Dyson, I personally own a Kirby and love it except the weight of it. Kirby's do last but if you have a 2 story then get a easier to lift model. I loke the fact that it has the hepa filter because my son has serious asthma and that is why I purchased it and that I am a clean freak so dust mites gross me out. You can't go wrong with a kirby I would go on OKorder or something and see what they run. Even one that is ten years old can be fixed up at the local Kirby shop. I would definately file a complaint against the salesmen, they are very good but that is ridiculous.
