Hoover makes one with a great attachment that hooks on to the hose. It's a rotating spin brush and it works awesome on furniture (and great for cars) to get all the hair off. It is lightweight and works great. All the filters are washable and it is bag-less.I can not remember what Hoover named it but it is a deep red, with the spin attachment (you'll know what I'm talking about as soon as you see it) I payed about $130 for mine and got it right at Wal-mart. It's worth trying, Wal-mart is pretty good about taking stuff back if you feel it didn't work properly for your needs. I think you keep it though.

Q: Honest, Himself just purchased a new vacuum we are told one of the attachments was used in the 1940s for nit picking.Have you ever heard of a nit picking attachment being put on vacuum cleaners in the past? If you were to gain some nits would you be inclined to use a vacuum to remove them? Why or why not.Oh in case you were wondering I don't catch nits. I know this because back in the day I had work that involved louse removal from humans I never, ever caught any. Apparently I am immune.: Personally, I've never heard of a system like that. When I had nits, we had to use a type of shampoo and a nit comb every day.

I see the Kenmore has a high rating as well as the Electrolux and the Miele. I want something that will last and has low noise and cleans carpets wonderfully. I also like that I empty the canister more often than I would replace a bag in a regular upright, so in my mind, it's a little cleaner :) Dyson's seem like an amazing vacuum as well, but has a price tag thats out of my range.
