I'm sure the retail industry has a name for people who buy a dress, wear it to a party, then return it, but I'm not sure what it is. Butthead is the usual term I hear. :)

Just like you the house's we clean have an array of flooring, wood, tile, oriental rugs, carpet.Please help with your experience Thanks!!: I have had the same issues time and time again, either too heavy, won't fit under furniture, hoses tear, too may filters and like you tired of replacing them. I purchased a Dyson about a year ago and it has not lost suction yet. I use it everyday it only needs one filter and I wash it out as directed which is perfect for me. The extension pole on it is great too for getting dusty spots and spiderwebs. I comes with a lot of different attachments so i can manage multiple surfaces. I will never buy another vacuum brand.

Q:We have 2 vacuum cleaners. Both are bagless, only 7 months old and both have weird smell .whenever they are used, smell spreads throughout the house. They have hepa filters, even changed them but still no change. After investigating more, found that the smell is coming from the cyclonic assembly of the vacuum. The assembly is filled with fine dirt, as it cant be cleaned or washed out, there is nothing we can do. Is there a way to get rid of it without opening and cleaning the cyclonic assembly or bagged vacuum is the only way to go. Plz any suggestions? . This smell even bothers in breathing and flares up my asthma also.: I have yet to see a vacuum cleaner that don't add a smell to the air. Try vacuuming up some backing soda this helps.

Q:Can you improve a vacuum cleaners suction (with tweeks) or filteration (by adding aditional filter)?: Well if you can you would probably be a pretty good engineer. I would keep any existing filters cleaned regularly and if you are using a bag They tend to have better air flow when first installed(empty). You didn't mention what type or for what purpose. If you are cleaning carpet you need agitation, air flow,and suction. Setting it too low would cut down on air flow. Too high would increase air flow but you would not get the suction down where you need it. You might get some better answers if you add details.
