- Q: I'm looking to buy one, but don't see any quality reviews, so let's see what the yahoosers say.
- i bought a bissell from wal mart, i think it was 169, a heated power steamer or something like that. i've used it several times (not because it did a bad job the first time, i just have 3 dogs and DETEST pet hair everywhere) anyway, it does an excellent job getting rid of the pet hair, you just have to make sure and clean the brush and bottom of the steamer each time you use it so it doesnt' clog. but anyway, my overall experience is that it did well to clean my old carpets (they were here when we moved in) it dries quickly, it didn't leave a musty wet smell, and it's fast and easy to use. hope that helps
- Q: Had a Bissell which was about $50, well it didn't last , and saw reviews on Eurekas, which were pretty good. Which do you use and where did you purchase your's for a good price? Not looking for expensive models, just something under $60.
- I gave up on vacuum cleaners a few years ago. I use a shop vac. It works like a champ! I vacuum the car, the house, blow the grass from the side walk. It sucks up everything. Nails, tools, and even unwanted guest!
- Q: So why are dogs afraid of vacuum cleaners?
- it is the same principle as the dog whistles. Dogs have much more sensitive hearing than humans so dogs hear sounds that a vacuum cleaner emits that we do not hear. Thats why dogs always seem to go after vacuum cleaners; they get annoyed and/or frightened by the sounds.
- Q: for the purchase of a new vacuum cleaner. But when I find one that gets good reviews, a little more searching uncovers absolutely horrible reviews for every machine I've looked at! Except of course the ones that cost over $400.So...has anyone bought a vacuum cleaner that doesn't have a ridiculous price-tag, that has actually continued to work well after you've had it for a year or more???
- i was thinking the same thing. i have a eureka vacuum. it is basic maybe spent $60 from walmart. i have had it for a while now. 4+ years maybe. the trick is you have to show any vacuum TLC. clean the brush and change the bag regularly. don't let it fill up even half full before you change it. the problem with all vacuums that have bags is the bag is also the exhaust. the air comes out and once the dirt clogs up the tiny holes. then it doesn't work as well. ALL vacuums work great at first when they are clean and with a new bag. you just have to take the effort to keep them that way.

- Most cleaners have filters in them that are replaceable that stop dust being put back into the air, but some small amount is bound to get in the air. if you have some sort of allergy check what sort of filtration you can get with cleaners.Some are better than others.
- Q: The ball can move up and down. I looked closely, and the ball can seal the hole. I flipped my vacuum upside down and the pressure easily holds the ball there. I suppose it must be there to help the flow. Not sure if any swirling occurs below the impeller suction hole, but I doubt it. Is the sphere acting as a diffuser or nozzle somehow?Just wondering. Thanks.
- Shop vacs are designed to suck up liquids and when the tank fills the ball will float and eventually plug the air suction opening to the blower. The ball is there to prevent liquid from the tank from being sprayed out of the vacuum and to protect the motor from that liquid.

- Supposedly they are to help you to see where you need to vacuum and show the dirt more. But I haven't found that they do that. Other than that they are there for looks.

- I have a Kirby G10 that does both. You can also spray paint with it! Weird, huh?
