Q:Hello, i have a quick question, this card doesn't need PCI cables right?My power supply is 450 wattNVIDIA GTX 750 TI is the cardThank you: Some 750ti's need more power, some don't - you have to check the card itself. Here's so helpful info - Computers are built with a power supply just barely able to power them as they are. A video card of any kind requires an upgrade of the power supply. If you don't upgrade the power supply, very nasty things can happen (I found this out the hard way! :O). Even the video cards that don't have extra power connections can draw up to 75 watts from the motherboard - that power has to come from somewhere! :D I recommend 750 watts, major name brand, semi-modular or full modular, 80+ rated, single 12 volt rail, active PFC, and so on. It's always best to have more power than you need. Power supplies are happiest running below their maximum, and they live much longer lives. You don't want to have to buy a whole new power supply in a few years just because you skimped today, do you? :O You MUST buy a power supply to feed your system plus video card! :) REMEMBER - Even the video cards that don't have extra power connections can draw up to 75 watts from the motherboard!! :O ~Helpful ~Cindy! :)

Q:why use of black color for electrical Power cables ?: It's an arbitrary choice. In the US, black or red is hot, white is neutral, green if ground. Other countries have different color combinations.

Q:I have a hp laptop from south asia. The adapter connects with the laptop and the power cable. The power cable has a 3 round pin plug which says 6A 240V~. On the hp adapter for the input it says: 100-240V~ 1.6A 5-60Hz. It also says Connect Only to Grounded outlets.Now I am in canada. All i know is that here they have 120 V in normal power plugs. Also they have 1 round and 2 rectangular pins to plug in the outlet.I bought this adapter which basically connects the 3 round pin plug into the adapter and the adapter has 3 canadian pins. The thing is that it says 250V 10A on the adapter. So I am not sure if it will hurt my laptop if I use it. I am a bit confused because Canada has 120V and the adapter accepts 250V. The HP adapter has a range from 100-240V. Will this be ok to use since the HP adapter will just convert the 120V into the proper output for the laptop or do I need one the expensice Voltage converters for the laptop?: It will work fine on 120 or 250 volts, the grounded outlet is for your safety, most places in Asia are doing away with the round plugs ok.....

Q:So, recently i purchased a new graphic card and it requires two 6 Pin PCI Express Power Cables. My current power supply generates 650W and only has 1 six pin PCI express power cable. Im at a loss to what to do now. Do i purchase a new power supply that has more pci express cables? Or do i open it up and add a new cable? Thanks if you can take the time to answer my question.: You're going to want to buy a new power supply that can handle it. To require two cables, this card sounds like a behemoth and you're likely going to want a bigger supply anyway. Adding a 6-pin cable isn't really a thing. I'd recommend Corsair for any supply as they're high quality and cheap.

Q:I have a power adapter that changes the tip of a power cable from the US standard to the Spain standard. My laptop has 3 prongs and the adapter accepts 2. It fits into it, but the 3rd prong just rests outside. I know the voltage over there is twice as strong, so will this work correctly?: Houjo and another correspondent seem to think that the earth (ground) connection is to protect the equipment. It isn't. It is to protect you. If the laptop was designed to be used with an earthed mains lead (the handbook should tell you) it will still work with a two-core one but in the, albeit unlikely, event of certain type of fault in the laptop you may be exposed to mains voltage on any conductive part of the laptop.

Q:How, i guess versatile are they. I have a Dell M1730. Basically i went on a plane and left the power cable in the suitcase, took the laptop as carry on and they lost my luggage. Is this something i HAVE to buy from dell, or can i run to circuit city and get something. Q:I am missing pin 20 for my ATX motherboard power connector (which is normal). But I am also missing pinouts and a few wires from other connectors like PCI-e, Peripheral connectors, and even SATA connectors. But here is the thing, all the missing pinouts go INTO the POWER SUPPLY? So are all these intentional, or is it a flaw? Thanks!: It is very common for some pins in a standard connector to be unused on certain devices, especially power connections, because there are always redundant pins to the same power connection.
