Q: Hi,I have a set of Sony speakers that are a few years old. They have no power cable (nowhere to plug a cable in either) and the aux cable has no jacks. It is just two split wires. How can I connect them to my TV?Thanks,Aaron
Very few TVs have connections for external speakers. The wire attached to each of your speakers is a speaker wire, not an aux cable. Your TV would need to have a line-level audio output (RCA jacks) or at least a headphone jack, which would be connected to a line-level input on a stereo or surround-sound receiver, and then that would drive the speakers. Speakers that have wires permanently attached (coming out through a hole), rather than having terminals to which wires are to be connected, are universally inferior. Still, considering the poor sound quality of many modern TVs, even the crummiest of box speakers might be an improvement.
Q: I live in the UK and I am going on holiday to Taiwan/Japan where the voltage is 110/100v as opposed to 220 here (i think).I was wondering if I could use a power extension cable (with multiple sockets) so that i would only need one adaptor to connect the extension to the mains and then I could just simply plug my 3 pin plugs into the cable saving me money and sockets. As it would be a lower voltage, I assume that there shouldn't be any problems with power however, if there are any electricians or anyone who has done this before I would really appreciate some guidance just to ensure that this is safe. Thanks is advance.
You'd use the correct AC power cord that replaces the toggle-head part, and that would be the best part. These can be bought with a variety of different ends on them; while the adapter itself will work with any of the supported voltage ranges, automatically.
Q: i bought a car from some guy..he had 2 amps but he took out one...he had the power cable running from one amp to the other. i just recently bought another amp and i was wondering if its safe to do this.he said it was working fine..he was powering 2 10 subwoofers..thats what im planning to do
its safe but its better to run 2 separate wires due to you are wanting to use more power and one wire has a max load that it can handle...you run 2 and you will have more power to each amp
Q: what cables do i need (besides a power cable) to start playing?
1). PS AV cable for standard TVs; 2). HDMI 1.3a for HDTVs; 3). RJ-45 cable if you plan a wired internet connection; 4). SB - miniB cable for controller; 5). Power cable (same as for PC).
Q: My mother has moved to Australia, taking her Fujitsu Siemens (Amilo model) laptop with her. Very shortly after, her power cable stopped functioning, and she would like a new one. Unfortunately, she is not tech-savvy at all and doesn't seem to be able to find the thing online, and I being from Europe, have trouble searching in her stead. I don't even know what an Australian plug looks like and I have no clue regarding the currency...All and any help is much appreciated.
Just get a small plug adapter in Australia. That will be cheaper than buying a whole new power cable.
Q: How do I get it not to do that? Its really annoying. Whenever I remove the charger cable , the screen gets really dark. It seems like an actual function and not a defect, but is their a way to toggle it on and off?
Thats how its made. Laptops dim screens to save battery power. To override the setting, look for a picture of the Sun on the middle-top of your keyboard. Sometimes its Blue. Once you find it, look at the bottom left of your keyboard for a FN (function) button. While holding the FN button, tap a few times at the sun button. Your screen should now be bright ;) Make sure you do this with the power unplugged, enjoy.
Q: I am doing a test if the power supply. Can you have the computer on and plugged in with PSU out in the open, leave on the carpet ?Can you have the power cable plugged into the psu first and then try to plug in the psu cable into the mother board. Would this electrocute you? if you accidentally knocked over liquid onto the power supply while the computer is running and you touched the motherboard at the same time while you are perfectly grounded. Can this electrocute you? unpluging the psu connector while the computer is on?
I'm willing to bet that there's people out there who'll debate me on this, but the answer is a nutshell both yes and no. Part I: As for having the power supply out in the open the answer is generally no, assuming you have it on a non-conductive surface such as a sheet of cardboard, assuming your carpet has any grade of nylon in it, and assuming the wiring in your house is well-grounded. Part II: I doubt it, but it'd be a better idea if your plugged it into the motherboard first, then to the power supply, then the wall. Part III: Both yes and no. It really depends on a small number of factors like how well grounded (electrically) it is. However, liquids and electricity of any type are NEVER a good mix. Part IV: Don't even think about it. Aside from something extreme like oh say a fire, there's no surer way to kill a motherboard than to disconnect the connector while powered-up.
Q: Whether high voltage cables can be built in belt corridors
Cable bridge spray to improve the corrosion resistance and anti-aging. Spraying the cable tray is the electrostatic powder coating equipment to spray the powder coating to the surface of the bridge, under static electricity, the powder coating will be evenly adsorbed on the surface of the cable bridge to form a powder coating, powder coating layer through the high temperature baking flow Flat and cured, into the effect of different (different types of powder coating effect) the final coating. Spraying effect in mechanical strength, adhesion, corrosion resistance, aging resistance and other aspects are better than the painting process, the bridge body metal can play a good protective effect, the cost is also under the same effect of paint. The basic principle of electrostatic spray technology is the static generator to produce negative high pressure (10KV or so), the use of corona discharge phenomenon powder coating (a variety of colors) adsorption on the metal parts, powder coating by the supply system by compressed air Nozzle, the front end of the nozzle with a high voltage generated by the high voltage static generator, due to corona discharge, in the vicinity of the dense charge generated by the powder from the nozzle when the formation of charged paint particles, it is the role of electrostatic force , Is adsorbed to the metal parts up, after heating the powder melting, and natural cooling curing, in the workpiece surface to form a hard coating. This kind of spray cable tray is made of this.
Q: Does anyone know if this PSU comes with a power cord/cable? I can't find an answer for this.
Psus usually come with one, if not the cable is universal and is dirt cheap
Q: I bought a microphone that requires a phantom power source and I want to connect the mic to my computer using a XLR to USB cable. Will the USB/XLR cable also power my mic or do I need to buy an additional power source?
But there are many more interfaces and you should pick the one that best suites your needs. Personally I use the M-Audio FireWire 410 which has a lot of other connectors besides 2x XLR like SPDIF and MIDI. cheers.
