Q:I found this rug and it look really expensive, do you know how much it's worth?
Hi, okorder /
Q:im a new rider, and next week i will got my first pony. i wanna buy some rugs for him. Couly you introduce different rugs and good brands.im in UK.xx
Is he coming with any rugs? See what he has before making any purchases. In terms of types, it depends on whether he is going to be field kept, stable kept, on a combined system and if he will be clipped in the winter. It also depends on the individual - some horses feel the cold more than others. It also depends on the storage space you have at the yard. My Connemara is on a combined system (in at night, out during the day) and has a hunter clip in the winter. These are the types of rugs he has: -Lightweight turnout -Middleweight turnout -Heavyweight turnout -Detachable neck cover for turnout rugs -Fly rug -Fleece coolers (we have a few of these as we like to keep one worn and the others clean for after bathing him when we are going competing) -Lightweight stable rug -Middleweight stable rug -Heavyweight stable rug -Duvet-type under rug -Summer sheet In the winter we layer rugs depending on the weather and the clip he has - he often starts with a blanket clip and once that starts to grow out, he has a hunter clip and requires more or different rugs. Rugs that are clean and not currently in use are left in the bags the cleaning lady put them in (we send rugs off to be cleaned a couple of times a year) and are stored in a wardrobe in a container provided by the yard we're on so they stay clean and dry. The rugs we currently use (fly rug, summer sheet, fleece, LW T/O) are hanging on racks in his stable - it may be summer, but the weather has no idea what to do so he is occasionally wearing a summer sheet or fleece at night. As for brands, it's trial and error. Our turnout rugs are Amigo and are about 12 years old and in excellent condition; our fly rug, under rug, summer sheet and one of the fleeces are Masta (again quite old - fly rug on its last legs though!); and his stable rugs all came with him. He did have two turnouts that came with him, but they got torn in the field - we tried patching them up, but they eventually died on us.
Q:Hi. We're currently redoing our spare bedroom complete with new carpet, new paint, and new molding. We've ripped up the old carpet and removed the old molding from the walls. We plan to paint next weekend. My question is, do we install the new molding before or after the new carpet is installed (in about two weeks after painting is done)? Which is the best way to go?
Hey. this is all preference, carpet layers like to do the carpet first so they don't scratch up the base the backing is very rough. also if you are repainting the base be for it is hung it is easy to touch up after you hang it and after carpet. also don't compress the trim on to the carpet very tight it makes it hard to remove later lightly set and nail. So if you hang the base before carpet and paint it in place make sure that you space the trim no more than a 1/2 use small blocks (little chunks of trim usually work very well for this) as spacers the carpet finishes nice if the carpet tucks under the trim. If the carpet is a Berber or commercial grade bring base a little lower So what ever works for your schedule it can go both ways. good luck! If the trim is up already tell your carpet layer to be careful.
Q:How do I get nail polish out of my carpet? Would nail polish remover work?
A okorder . Acetone will permanently damage the adhesives.
Q:My carpet in my living room has become stiff. I regularly shampoo it and it is rinsed thoroughly. Any suggestions as to how to make it soft again?
I agree with the too much soap in the past theory. The residual soap then is aerosolized when next you shampoo the rug and then you breathe a lot of airborne mold and junk. Use the bare minimum of chemicals and soap when you shampoo a rug. Vacumn a lot. I am not sure how to make it soft again but I wanted to let you know the health risks associated with shampooing a rug. I have never tried it but maybe you could water down some fabric softener and spray it lightly on...let dry...try it on a small patch of carpet. I would use fabric softener with no added perfume. Good luck.
Q:I spilled Coca-cola on my area rug. The rug is relatively inexpensive and I've never spilled liquid on it. I decided it would be a brilliant idea to sop up as much liquid as I could with a towel and paper towels and then pour baking soda all over it, which I then proceeded to rub in. (I know, idiotic). The stain is now hard and crusty and I cant seem to vacuum it out. Any advice?
Not all is lost. Break up the crusties as much as possible and vacuum, probably just use the hose, not the various heads. Keep doing this until you'd removed as much as possible. If you have a clothes brush, use that to help as you vacuum. When you've done as much as you can, time to switch methods: first put a towel, shower curtain or whatever under your throw rug as you don't want to ruin the floor under neath.......if vinyl.......relax. Anyway. Make a solution of OxyClean.....I'd say a scoop to a quart of warm water.....mix well and then apply it to the stain.........if your carpet doesn't have latex on the back and you can move it to the tub.....pour the Oxyclean over the stain. Otherwise pour a bit on.......1/4 cup or so, rub with your fingers and immediately begin blotting it out with a clean towel......white or light colored just in case you get a color run from the towel. Repeat applying and blotting it up. That should do it. I doubt you'll need the whole quart. OH yes, finish with a clear water rinse and plenty of blotting. Check the towel or whatever underneath and replace it if wet. Let the rug air dry. No hair dryers as heat will set stains. Of course we hope like anything the OxyClean doesn't remove the color from your rug.....if you have bright colors.....use a weaker solution. OxyClean ihydrogenen peroxide which will bleach colors if in a very concentrated formula which it in the in the original mixture I mentioned.
Q:when you leave heavy furniture on a carpet it leaves a mark like if you have a wardrobe on a vcarpet it leaves a mark but does the mark stay forever or does it only last a little bit?
Depends what type of carpet it is. Carpets that have fibers with a memory retention can be brought back with sweeping , or a wet heat. Some older carpets or ones with out memory retention can some times ( some times) be fluffed back up using other tricks. One trick to help avoid the marks , no matter what type of carpet is to move these pcs of furniture once a week , just a few inches and vacuum over the spot to pull them back up.. GL
Q:What material does carpet buy better?
The carpet materials mainly include wool, acrylic, nylon, hemp and blended woven carpets, the following is the most suitable family: durability with nylon 1. nylon carpet weaving, anti-corrosion, mildew, moth, acid and alkali resistance, tensile resistance, such as winding performance, wear resistance is particularly good, low price. More suitable for laying in corridors, staircases, living room and office, and so on, frequently moving places. The disadvantage of nylon carpet is that it is easy to generate static electricity, heat resistance, easy burning and easy pollution.
Q:I'm really stressed I just spilled Mac and cheese all over the carpet how do I get it out
Maggie if you just spilt it Scrape as much up as you can And use a cloth wrung out in warm soapy water
Q:Wat materials are there for carpets?
Generally, it's polypropylene. There are also nylon, wool and blended yarn that are of good quality for carpets.
