Q: It needs to be 8 feet by 10 feet and just be plain light creamish color. No designs, or swirls, or anything, just a light colored area rug! I cant find just a regular PLAIN one anywhere (not shag rug, just wool)... Any ideas or links are greatly appreciated!: For just a plain rug with no design like you want, the best thing is to go to your local mom and pop type carpet store. Pick out a carpet that meets your color needs. It ll come 12 ' wide so order a pc 12x8 and you can ( or they can) easily cut it to the size you want . They will bind the edges or have the carpet sent out to be done ( very common). You can even choose color of binding ( same as most rugs) or choose to have it surged, a different edging type. Most reputable carpet stores will give you a free estimate. It will tell you how much carpet you need. How much padding. What you need to prep. It is cheaper to have the room cleared. If you can't then you have 3 different estimates. When choosing the carpet. Bend the sample in half. If you can see the backing choose a different carpet. You don't want to be able to see the backing if possible. The denser the carpeting the better it will hold up to wear. Get the best padding you can afford. If you have pets get a vapor proof liner pad. If it is a berber carpeting it should be stretched drum tight.

Q: We just got laminate flooring. It's tongue and grove and looks like shiny cherry wood. We have a 5x7 area rug in the middle of the floor, it's just a simple flat maroon area rug bought from Walmart. Is there anything I can place underneath the area rug that won't scratch the flooring and that will keep pet stains from seeping through to the laminate flooring. I would say for your money and time the best things to get are buying a carpet (NOT rug) pad from your nearest home improvement center that has a moisture barrier. Almost all carpet pads and rug pads are not going to waterproof, but make sure to buy one with a moisture barrier. It looks like a red or blue film on the backside of the pad. At least with Home Depot, you can come in and we can cut it into a size that fits as close to your 5x7. That way, when your dog has an accident, the pad can capture that without ruining your new laminate flooring. To make sure the rug stays down, buy double sided rug traction tape, again found at your local home improvement store. Use it only in corner areas, since you may need to clean the pad periodically due to the dog. The traction tape ensures that the rug and pad won't slide around. Lastly, consider using spray Scotch-Guard on your area rug. It's a easy and great way to capture his messes before it soaks into the rug completely. Scotch-Guard just sprays on and it can be reapplied after several cleanings. I do know i can get it online a carpet that is specially made for my car but they cost like 100- 150 buck. Does anyone know if i can get carpet material in home depot if so what kind should i get. Thank you in advance:)): The carpet you would get online is specially made for your vehicle with all its contours and cutouts. It's not some area rug you just throw down on the floor. $150 sounds very reasonable. I suppose you could take all of your carpet out and just get some bath mats or something. Assuming you could get your hands on a giant square piece of automotive carpet in the color you wanted, how would you cut it and contour it to fit properly? I think you should either buy the carpet online or try to spruce up the carpet that's in there currently.

The backing on rugs will not grab on the pile of carpet. Lowes or HomeDepot may carry it.
