- Q: I was given a 8ft 8 in x 12 ft 2 in persian rug that is in superb condition. It is authentic, but can not find out how much it is worth. I know that it cost 2,000 dollars 30 plus yrs ago, but am clueless on what it would go for these days. Could anyone give me some advice on how to find it's worth. I was given it a couple yrs ago by a family member who had passed away, it was left to me in their will. I dont like the color or style, Im into more modern stuff and I am looking to sell it. - Q: what kind of carpet should be used when making a subwoofer box? what thickness is needed
- Purchase subwoofer carpet, also known as box carpet. This material can be purchased from furniture stores or audio supply stores. Unravel the carpet with the carpet side down and the rubber side up. Place the subwoofer box on top of the rubber side of the carpet. Using a marker, trace out the edges of the box. Repeat with each side of the box. Use an X-Acto knife or scissors to cut out the traced patterns of the subwoofer on the carpet. Apply super glue liberally to the rubber side of the carpet. Affix the carpet to the corresponding side of the subwoofer box. Apply glue to the edges of the carpet piece. Wait for one piece to dry before attaching the next one. Use the hot glue gun to glue the edges of the carpet pieces together. Run the glue along all the edges of the box. This process will attach the pieces of carpet and also create a soft edge to the corners of the box. Use clear glue to maintain a clean look. Feel around the front of the box for the hole or holes in the subwoofer. Stab into the material with a knife or scissors. Cut out all excess material until the hole for the subwoofer shows completely. The edges do not need to be smooth. They will be covered by the subwoofer once it is installed. Look into the hole or holes on the front of the box. Locate the speaker wire port at the back of the box. Stab at that port with a knife or scissors. Cut out the material that covers that hole. Again this area will be covered by a connector port. The edges do not need to be perfect. Install subwoofers. The box is complete.

- i in my view like heat colorings. I even have brown fixtures and painted the partitions a paprika colour. No, it particularly is not any longer orange; i pick the colour very heavily to ward off this. seems great w/ a heat tan and olive (no longer sage) accessory colorings. very heat and comfortable and could no longer seem washed out in a room w/lots of organic solar. in spite of the fact that in case you do unlike green real olive is extremely diverse from sage and if used as an accessory colour basically, he might actual like it. confident, the crimson and sage component grow to be vast some years in the past, no lots any further. in case you stick w/yellow you may make it extra of a gold tone to soften and upload some intensity.

- Hello Lady, go to a paint store and there they have a chart that show the colors they have. Pick up a few of the colors tabs you like and take them home and look at them on your wall. You can get a pretty good idea of what color you will want. For your purple carpet, have you thought of a cream color,or an off white, , then you could add a picture or two on the wall, like a picture of a horse or horses, butter flies or even pictures of the children.. Look in magzines for pictures of different ones. Or even make a small hanging quilt to hang on the wall. That would change the roon for the little boy and girl. If it was me painting the wall I would not try to blend the painted wall to the carpet. That is a hard thing to do. I would say go for the cream color walls with dark purple carpet. Look for pictures that you can fram your self. Oh i think I would paint the wood work in the bedroom the same color as the wall, if you paint it with the cream color. /what do you say? - It depends on the type of carpet and the square footage of the house. The cheapest I have seen at Lowes was $1.09 per square foot but went as high as 4.00 per square foot. If you need a new pad they are about .50 per square foot for a basic pad. To calculate square footage multiply each rooms width by length and add them together. If you have a professional measure they will add 10% to the total to calculate for mistakes. Don't forget you may also need to pay for installation.

- The 'powder' comes from the packing process as well as the glue that holds the pile to the rug base. This is very typical when dealing with tufted synthetic rugs. It can also indicate dry rot or moth infestation but since it is new, it is likely the glue as I mentioned before.

- Q: I want to put a rug down in the middle of my living room that has laminate wood floor. I have a couple of larger dogs that tend to run aound on occasion. The current rug has a smooth back and slides when they skid to a stop on it. The replacements that I've looked at all have the jute back and I'm concerned that when they cause this type to slide across the floor, over time it will behave like sandpaper and scuff the floor. I know I can put a rubber anti slip pad on the back to prevent some of it, but won't it still eventually scuff the wood laminate over time around the edges?
