- If you're certain that the posture is not the problem, maybe your pecs are more than strong enough for the exercise and you feel the effort in another involved muscle which is weaker.
- Q: Hi!I have started a strength training routine in the mornings. Unfortunately it is hard to find anyone I know to come with and spot me that early in the morning. So what is a good replacement exercise for the bench press to work the chest in case I have no one to spot me. I guess preferably something using a machine that I won't need that spotter for.I know that pushups with the hands out wide work the chest, but I have no idea if they are effective enough to replace the bench press. So anything that might work about as well as a bench press would be great!Thanks!
- The bench press is the most effective chest exercise there is. I strongly recommend you stick to it. I do it without a spot. When you do the reps, on the rep where your upward momentum slows then this is the rep on which you stop. In my expereince for example, if I do five reps at roughly the same pace for each then on the way up on the sixth I slow down then I won't attempt a seventh.

- Q: I recently started lifting heavier with much lower reps and hit the 400 pound bench press. I am looking to try for the 450 mark. I was curious as to what kind of Routines and styles people use/used that helped them reach goals. I am currently 5'8 and very lean at about 185lbs give or take about 5lbs. Eating is the hardest task for me because I lack a big appetite, however I try to eat 3 solid meals a day with a snack or 2 in between. Mainly Chicken and Rice. I am curious about length of workouts/exercises/routines/rep ranges/supplements. I use some cheap generic protein to cut down on costs along with Jack3d for my pre workout drink.
- 400 lbs 185 lbs is nearly elite, assuming your form is good and you're not doing it on a Smith press and are doing FULL reps to your chest and back up. Do you squat, clean, or deadlift at all? With 400 lbs on a bench press you should be lifting four plates on each side easily for deads.
- Q: I know you press c to crouch but how do you role?
- Simply press the keys for movement to either side. You're probably using WASD keys, so A to roll left, and D to roll right while crouching. Note that you will have to press these keys while stationary. If you're moving forward while crouching, you'll just change direction, not roll. You may also be suing the Arrow keys, in which case, left arrow for left and right arrow for right. Happy Rolling!

- You are a slippery dud: What they call steroids? They were steroids. At least have the backbone to admit you were smuggling steroids across the border. They may or may not press charges. If they incarcerated every bonehead they caught with 2 bottles of nut shrinker they would have to build two new jails a week. You will be fined and probably harassed but they may take pity on the penal system and let you slide without jail time. I take some very powerful drugs that are needed to treat a condition. When i travel, I always carry a letter from my doctor stating not only that i have these things legally but the exact nature of the condition I am taking them for. By doing things legally, I cross borders all the time and often, the same people see me the second time. They STILL ask for proof. Customs has a job to do and they do it well ... most of the time.
