- Q: The rug with the rubber backing. If no, why not? I have been told not too but someone said it is no big deal.
- Yes, I do it all the time with no problems, NEVER in the dryer though. I just hang it on the shower bar.

- You can go for various rug pads available online.Another option would be use Two sided tape and paste in on floor and the next step is stick a Velcro on the tape and the other part of the Velcro on bottom edge of the rug. This will surely help your old rug from curling up from edges.
- Q: I am getting carpet installed tomorrow (Monday). I had bent it to get it upstairs. I kept it bent for about 1 week. There is some wrinkles now near the middle. Will this stretch out when he installs the carpet in the room???

- Q: whats a good inexpensive stream cleaner that will make my carpet look like new again! we moved into our apartment almost a year ago and it was a very rainy muddy day, ever since my carpets have just been plain nasty looking, its only the livingroom and diningroom though. What can i get that will actually work
- Vacuum the carpet, remove all the superficial dirt especially in traffic areas. At Home Depot you can rent a machine to stream the carpet and can buy the detergent. Choose a detergent with anti mould and antimicrobial agent.
- Q: We have off white carpet (which is now brown and stained) that is 10 years old. We have two toddlers (more to come) and 3 dogs. The dogs come in from outside right onto the carpet. I am looking for a flooring solution that will meet our needs. I expect our future holds many more carpet stains so I am looking into carpet tiles for our family room. I know, not pretty but functional. What do you all think? Are there some higher quality carpet tiles whereby our family room won't look like cheap office carpet? We don't want tile and we do not want laminate as we need soft floor for dogs and kids. Real hardwood would be nice but price prohibitive. Please let me know if you have any experience with carpet tile and what your general outlook on carpet tile/squares is. P.S. when we sell the house we would go ahead and put in new quot;realquot; carpet before we move.
- We have carpet tiles in our basement and I have no complaints. We also have 2 little kids, a dog and 2 cats and it is holding up well. We've had some stubborn stains, but I am sure the quality of the tiles that the people who were before us wasn't that great. Ours is kind of blah in color, but it hides more dirt that way.

- The rug. Its far easier to clean then the calcium sand and you don't have to worry about impaction. Sand also can get in the geckos eyes, nose, ears, and it can dye the geckos skin colors along with irritating the geckos skin. Sand is also hard to clean out of tanks. Sand has to be replaced every time you clean the tank. When the gecko poops the bacteria in the poop will spread around the tank from the crickets stepping on it, the gecko stepping on it, etc.. Sand also pretty expensive. Carpet / rugs also have their problems. The geckos nails can be caught in the fibers and be pulled out. Teeth can get stuck in the carpet. You also might look into slate tiles or any other unglazed tiles. They work great and you don;t have to worry about impaction or the nails getting pulled out.
- Q: I've been trying to find a rug that works in our living area, however I am no interior designer and have a hard time deciding if what I get looks okay! I never thought getting a rug would be this difficult…
- I liked the rug you returned, but do not think the rug size is large enough for the room. You do need some colour...try some accent pillows in a deeper colour of the sage on your wall..you will have to be careful on the colours..autumn colours could work well, but keep the reds more of a salsa red...if your paint colour has a grey undertone, then many red shades will not work well with it, but you can go more for the blues and golds/yellows like a mediterranian colour. Curtains (floor length) are a great starting point .... something patterned in the colours you like...light and airy ones that can go over your blinds so you still have the blackout you desire from the blinds. Pick out colours from your curtains to use in the pillow covers and some coloured glass vases or accent pieces. Lamps or scones will add a lot to the room too.

- Q: I want to clean my carpet but stainz and deep down dirt is a problem, is there something i can add to the water of my carpet cleaner along with the cleaner i would use to improve the results? And maybe there is a home remedy for this and something for a pre-spot cleaner to help break up the stains? Thanks for the help
- White vinegar works excellent, add 1 cup to the water in your carpet cleaner, it's a natural antibacterial cleaner and deodorizer and leaves no residue behind. To remove stains, fill a spray bottle 1/2 water 1/2 vinegar and spray liberally on stain, let sit 5 mins. fold up a white cloth, lay on stain and stand on it, turn it over and repeat, open cloth and rub stain, fold cloth, repeat until cloth comes back clean. To prevent stains after cleaning the carpet, buy a can of scotch guard carpet protector ($5) and spray carpet evenly while carpet is wet, avoid walking on it til dry, spills will bead on top of the carpet for easy clean up. Vinegar aroma will dissipate totally when carpet is dry.
