Q:is it feasible to plant your own vegetables at home?ive got a 20x20 feet of space at home and was wondering would it be more cheaper if i plant my own carrots or potatos.
All I can say is that you have enough room, and the price of fresh veggies are going to keep getting higher. Of course home grown will taste much better too! Why stop with just potatoes and carrots try other types too! Tomatoes are very easy to grow so are zucchini's and they will grow up a fence or over a large patch of ground, how about bush cucumbers that grow in pots? The possibilities are endless
Q:Most of the over 55 year old communities have very small lots. There are some of us that are fit and like to work in large gardens. I cant find a community that offers the security of being gated and still have homes with one or more acres.

Q:As a watering girl for the plants, and they told me I had to learn basic gardening such as what kind of grass grows in my area/region, and about the type of grass and plants, does anyone know a good website to learn about gardening that I can use now and in the future? I want to try and work my way up after being there awhile.

Q:is a home garden picked pumpkin, cooked then turned into pumpkin soup a good source of protein? if so, id like to know how much! ty :)
Pumpkins don't contain very much protein, if any. The milk or dairy products you use for the soup will though. Vegetables are not by themselves good strong protein sources--you can combine vegetables to get proteins, but you still need more than what they provide. The highest sources are beans and legumes, combined with grains such as wheat or rice. There is only about 2 grams of protein in a cup of pumpkin puree.
Q:We just bought our first home and there is a large garden in the front yard that was started but never finished. It has decrative stones and it's freshly mulched, but nothing has been planted. Now what? Any suggestions? It's partly shaded, partly sunny. I would like to fill it with something pretty, but most of all EASY! I've never gardened before - HELP!
Hi: I am a landscaper and designer and there are a couple of different things you could do. You could remove the decorative stone and mulch and set it aside to use, or you could just move them enough to plant some trees, shrubs and flowers. The only concern I have with the second option is you probably don't know if the ground has been prepped properly. Properly preparing any ground and soil is critical for a healthy garden. You have invested money in your first home, and landscaping is also an investment. I personally would recommend to take the decorative stones and mulch out. Properly prep your garden. I have a page on my website called plan - prep - and plant. This is a simple method to do any garden. You will want to til the area first and rake it out. Hopefully you can save as much of the stones and mulch. You might have to replace some, but it would be better than having dead plant speicmens in a few months. There are many different plants you could plant. I usually recommend starting out with trees, if you are going to plant them. You can do phase planting and the trees will be put in first, wait awhile and rest your wallet, and then plant some shrubs and flowers. I will link you to the gallery of plants section of my website and also my site map. The gallery has a variety of photos of trees, flowers and shrubs, with climate zones. I will also link you to the site map as this page has everything that is on the website. There are hand drawn designs for you to see, garden projects, outdoor features and other tips and techniques. Browse through and see if any of this information will help you. Good luck to you, and if you need some help, feel free to contact me. Have a great day! Q:My friend is named Bryce and he likes rice. He thinks it is absolutely impossible to grow rice in their garden. So is it possible? P.S. He thinks he's wild like wild rice, but I think he resembles calm rice more. Just saying.
Not impossible but very difficult. Rice needs a lot of space and a consistent level of water. You can not depend on rain water for this.
Q:looking for a house. it says rent-to-own. what does that mean
comprehend which you're nevertheless a Renter. So for this reason the guy who you have entered into settlement with continues to be the owner. he's maximum easily in charge for the furnace. yet you're nevertheless required to pay the hire as long as you nevertheless stay there. My suggestion to you would be to jot down a approved letter to the owner and enable them to comprehend that in the event that they do no longer fix the furnace, you will deduct the entire volume from the equivalent volume of hire and purchase it and have it put in your self. purely be constructive you checklist your lawsuits with the help of email, letter, etc., so if it consists of you figuring out which you no longer prefer the placement and would desire to pass to courtroom over the situation, you would be nicely documented. this is substantial which you compromise this previously you get to the own point. needless to say, you would be on your guy or woman then. desire this permits.
Q:I keep some for my coffee table ,Home and living ,garden home but the Huisgenoot goes to the dustbin when we are done . I have a collection of very old ones that I treasure like a 1978 Huisgenoot with a visit to pres.John Vosters house ,Libertas .
No, we buy too many magazines to keep them all, maybe we could if we rented a storage container somewhere.
