Q: I need cottonseed meal for my garden.
Home garden stores should carry it. Also health food stores.
Q: We're replacing our decks railing, so I thought it would be nice to use it as a fence around some raised vegetable garden beds. We're planning on selling the house in 5 years or so, would this be appealing to buyers? A nice vegetable garden? Thanks!
Not going to increase your value by a penny. As said earlier, some buyers may find it attractive, and others may find it a bother to be removed.
Q: I am in search of a chocolate pie recipe from the better homes and gardens all time fav pie recipes from 1978 or so. I have the book but have misplaced it since moving. i do know it takes semisweet bar chocolate and some more ingredients but i cant recall the measurements. if any one out in net land has this wonderful recipe please leave it on line for me .thanks, seven
I actually have my Mom's Better Homes Gardens cook book c. 1970 :-} Following is the recipe: 1 c. sugar 1/3 c. all-purpose flour or 3 Tbsp. cornstarch 1/4 tsp. salt 2 c. milk Chop 2 1-oz. squares unsweetened chocolate; add with milk. 3 slightly beaten egg yolks 2 Tbsp butter {or margarine} 1 tsp. vanilla 9 baked pastry shell 1 Meringue recipe {follows} In saucepan combine sugar, flour and salt; gradually stir in milk with chopped chocolate. Cook and stir over med. heat till mixture boils and thickens. Cook 2 minutes longer. Remove from heat. Stir small amt hot mixture into yolks; return to hot mixture; cook 2 minutes stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add butter and vanilla; cool to room temp. {To prevent a crust from forming, put clear plastic wrap or waxed paper directly on top, touching surface of hot pudding clear to sides of bowl.} Pour into baked pastry shell Meringue: Beat 3 egg whites with 1/4 tsp cream of tartar and 1/2 tsp vanilla til soft peaks form. Gradually add 6 Tbsp. sugar, beating til stiff peaks form and all sugar is dissolved. Spread atop pie, sealing to pastry. Bake in moderate oven {350} about 12 to 15 mins or til meringue is golden. Yuummmmmm!!!! :-}
Q: You are designing a new tile floor for a customer who is adding a room to her home. The room will be square and the customer wants a design set in the middle of the room that is also a square. The customer has not yet determined the size of the room, but knows the design square must be 3 feet by 3 feet. Therefore, you must use a variable to represent the measurement of the room. As part of your presentation to the customer, you need to include the cost of the new floor. The tile for the room is $4.00 per square foot and the tile for the square inset is $5.00 per square foot. For now, you are not including the cost of labor.
You need a pen and paper. Draw a diagram and put in the measurements. Now do the math.
Q: I'm want to start selling something but I don't want to sell Mary Kay, Lia Sofia, Avon or Tupperware. Do you know of anything else to sell? If so, can you tell me how to get started?
Pampered Chef Party Lite Discovery Toys Home and Garden Party I'd just do a search for their website - there is usually a link for more info on becoming a consultant. I'm a Mary Kay consultant...is there a reason you've ruled it out? I love their products...and I don't really wear make-up!
Q: Please try to give me at least 10 places
walmart, lowes, sears, home depot, k mart, northern tools, auto zone, oreilly's auto, advanced auto, hobby lobby
Q: I think it is either Betty Crocker or Better Homes Gardens?
I'm thinking it's the Better Homes Gardens cookbook. That has a red plaid cover and been around for years. I still have my mother's from the early 1960's, and my 90's version which has the same red plaid cover. My Betty Crocker one has an all red cover, but I don't think it's always been all red.
Q: We are moving to a town house, it's so nice, so happy, the only thing is there is no space for a garden BUT we have this huge patio that I could have 2 big planters filled with flowers! Can you please give me some tips as well as flower suggestions for the planters? I'm in NW Pennsylvania so no tropical flowers unfortunately. I love Impatients and marigolds, tho!
Petunias are reliable container plants. Impatiens will do fine in a container and so will Marigolds, Begonias, Coleus, Million Bells, Sweet Potato Vine. Most any annuals that you find in a garden center will perform nicely in a container. Just be sure to match the plant with your surroundings, just as you would in a garden. That is, if it's a sunny area use sun loving plants and use shade lovers in low light. And, if you get bit by the plant-loving bug like me, you will wind yourself having more than just two planters. I tell myself every year: no more container plantings! Yeah, right. You can plant bulbs in those containers now and have blooms in the spring: Daffodils, Grape Hyacinth, Tulips, Crocus. I get carried away with my planting ;) Sorry so long: look around at containers that are professionally planted, both at garden garden centers and in public places like municipal buildings or on Main Street. This mightl give you inspiration for the plants you want.
Q: How do you get clients?
Please join a professional organization and establish credentials. If you are in US, every state has a nursery and landscape association.. Contact your local extension office and inquire about educational programs. (google your state and the words 'extension office') Most offer one day seminars on various topics. They will have a mailing list you should ask to be placed on to receive information regularly about educational opportunities. They also have classes on starting business, estimating jobs, etc. There are a lot of folks who want to be in the landscape business. There are a lot of folks in the business who don't have proper training. Distinguish yourself by being one of those who knows what they are doing.
Q: Hi,I wanted to start a home garden right now. What crops could I plant? What herbs?thanks
Root veggies will do nicely as we start to cool down. Turnips, Beets, Radishes, and Kohlrabi will do very well if sown now. We can finally plant spinach again, and it will grow throughout the winter. YAY!!! Lettuce, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Snow Peas. It's time to get these plants sown! I've seen Oregano and Parsley survive some pretty harsh winters. Rosemary is another hardy one to plant.
