- Q: I live in the NE USA. I have an apartment porch with another porch on top of it, so I get sun in the afternoon, into early evening. I have to have a garden on the porch because any indoor plants will get eaten by the cats. I'd like to be able to plant some seeds in planters (either the long ones or in pots) and keep them on the porch to bloom and grow. I'm not sure what kind of plants would grow well in my area and under those conditions. Anything that can be planted, kept outdoors in the winter and grow back in the spring/summer would be awesome as well (perennials).I'm looking for as much help as possible. What kind of plants would work well, when I'd need to plant them, which kind of planter, how often to water and if I can leave them outside in the fall/winter and have them grow back on me.Thank you so much!
- If you want to grow veggies and fruits on your porch, tomatoes, peppers, and strawberries all will work in a container. Also, pretty much any herbs should do well.
- Q: We are having a Secret Santa in our office and the name that I picked is for a woman who I don't know much about. All I know is that she has a nice garden near her home. Last year, I picked her name and I bought her a plant. She loved it! I don't want to get her the same gift this year. It's too difficult to transport from home during the morning rush hour. Any suggestions? The maximum is $20. Thanks!
- I am an avid gardener and can give you some ideas. You could give her packets of seeds or perhaps a bag of bulbs or maybe a gift certificate to Brecks or Spring Hill bulb company. She may like a new gardening tool or a pair of gardening gloves. Maybe a nice flower pot or a little set of pots that can fit on a window sill. A book on gardening (one for her area) is a great idea as well. A gift certificate to a local nursery is a fine gift that will be well received, too.
- Q: My boyfriend's birthday is coming up and i wanted to get him a bonsai tree since he can't stop talking about them. Where can i buy one at that isn't too expensive? I was thinking maybe the home and gardens section at home depot or something like that. It needs to be a place i can drive to and nothing online.Thank you so much!

- Q: Their was this recipe that was in home and garden a long time ago...it was pretty much chicken lemon juice parsley spinach and orzo..except that my family and i don't remember the measurements so it never comes out right anymore. Does anyone remember this recipe? If so could u please share? Thank you :)
- i okorder . INGREDIENTS 1 cup uncooked orzo pasta 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 cloves garlic 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper 2 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut into bite-size pieces salt to taste 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley 2 cups fresh spinach leaves grated Parmesan cheese for topping DIRECTIONS Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add orzo pasta, cook for 8 to 10 minutes, until al dente, and drain. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, and cook the garlic and red pepper 1 minute, until garlic is golden brown. Stir in chicken, season with salt, and cook 2 to 5 minutes, until lightly browned and juices run clear. Reduce heat to medium, and mix in the parsley and cooked orzo. Place spinach in the skillet. Continue cooking 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until spinach is wilted. Serve topped with Parmesan cheese. 4 servings

- We have a beautiful 7 months old Moodle named Lily who has had a shocking start to life. She joined our family after 2 surgical operations for obstructions from swallowing foreign objects, the last one having had her at death's door. Our love and dedication (based upon our previous toy poodles living until 17 and 18 years), has saved this precious little mite but she remains a bag of bones despite eating two small My Dog tins of chicken or beef eaten quite hungrily one each morning and evening. Lily is no wider at the flanks than 7 or 8 cms and she stands with backbone arched in a most pronounced manner. She occasionally shows she is happy but often appears quite sad, rarely exhibiting any real libido. Lily has had regular normal veterinary care. We are extremely concerned by her skeleton like frame despite eagerly eating her 2 small tins of My Dog each day. Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Our sincere thanks, Bill Riley
- Q: correction, church 2X month to 1 and more to accompany my mom- spend time together- and hear interesting sermons.
- Because His Father sent him to earth to die for the sins of all mankind. His Father is a separate being than Jesus. Both are Gods. The atonement represents God loving the world so much that he sacrificed his only begotten son. So Jesus is talking to his Father, telling him wow...Are you sure you want me to do this? In John 14:28, Jesus again reiterates the separateness: You heard me say, 'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
