Q:What color of the carpet looks good with gray fabric sofa?: Camel or floral velvet carpet.

Q:I have purchased wool rugs which I really like but they have an odour and we have stepped on prickly objects that, when searched for, turn out to be similar to twigs (approx. an inch or more in length) or seeds woven into the wool. The rugs come from a very reputable rug importer that operates in the United States as well as Canada so I'm somewhat surprised at what appears to be poor quality and am considering returning them. Will I find this with all 100% wool handmade rugs? Does cleaning them make any difference?: these have been made by a craft work shop where the wool has been spun by hand and probably in a workshop in a rural work shop where as it was woven twigs etc have been picked up from the floor it was crafted on the best bet is to wash the rugs if possible if not then contact the rug importer and complain

You can wash where there is a dirty, or replace it, it's suitable for large area office! And this kind of carpet is of sound absorption.

Q:my doctor prescribed me this benzoyl peroxide gel for my face and i accidentally got a big glob of it on my rug. I went to clean it up with these red tissues and it started to turn my rug red! The next day, I put this carpet cleaner on it (one that has to sit for 15 minutes then you vacuum it) and it turned it orange!: Your rug looks bleached. If that is the case, you will have to color it. But, if this indeed a stain causing this color: Go to Home Depot and pick up Liftoff 2 (oil and adhesives) It will be in the paint aisle. spray it on your stain, let sit for 30 seconds, scrub and vacuum. Repeat as necessary, rinse and let dry. However, like I said before, it looks like your rug is bleached, not stained.

You can rent the machine that brushes the product in and then you vacuum it. th machine doesn't cost too much to rent and the results are fabulous. I kept my carpets looking like new for 10 years. When I sold my home people couldn't believe it wasn't new carpeting. Also great for allergies.

Q:i spilled 4 little dots of black fabric dye..is there a way to clean it with out messing up the carpet.: Unfortunately, the dye is permanent. Your best bet is a Carpet Transplant: Cut the stained area out using a razor knife. Be careful to cut only the carpet, not the padding under it. Cut a piece of replacement carpet from a place no one will ever notice, like from inside a closet. Put the ruined carpet piece on a piece of paper and trace around it. This will be your template. Cut this out and use it as a pattern for the new piece. You want an exact match in shape. Glue the replacement piece of carpet in place using waterproof glue. Attach it to the padding underneath. Or you can sew it into place by sewing it to the existing carpet. (You will need a curved needle if you sew it in place.) The repair should be invisible when you're done. -

Q:Okay so yesterday i mixed dawn soap and water together and scrubbed the spots on my floor to get these crusty spots that were left on my carpet from the carpet cleaner. the crusty spots went away but in their place small spots (smaller than the crusty resdue from before.) were left over and they were now sticky! I than tried washing off those spots with anti bacterial wipes which didn't do anythign, i vaccumed my floor twice and today i used a combination of baking soda and vingar to get it ou of my floor. Now i have merely one or two small spots but im aware carpet cleaner is rather toxic and hazardous and so I wanted to ask if it's truly carpet cleaner resdue stuck to my floor or if it's simply the dawn soap that won't come out. Please help for I am rather worried.: First rinse and blot the carpet ( don t soak just wet to rinse) with white towels or white paper towels. Do this several times. If this doesn t work, then reuse the capet cleaner and do nothing but rinse and extract the water. Do this several times while drying the carpet between times to check. Sorry to say buy using dawn or any improper ingredient in the carpet cleaner was a mistake. Plus the use of a rented or home carpet machine isn t good for carpet. If rerinsing doesn t work , haveing it professionally done is the next step. If this residue isn t remove it will attract dirt.. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL

Q:last night i left the top of the cage open for my hamster. he climbed out and chewed loads of holes in the carpet. is there a cheap way to patch or replace the carpet: you can make spot repairs for things like that. i mean if you have like 75 spread throughout the room its going to be pretty hard to do that. first of all you really want it to match what you're replacing of course. if you're carpet is old and faded that can be hard to do. if it is old and faded/stained up, you can take a match from an often misused area if you have one like a closet or such. the best way is to take a very sharp utility knife and maybe a drafting square and cut out a square all of the way down to the subfloor. take the piece you cut out and use it as a template to match the new place you are cutting out. once you get the new piece you can lay it over the previously cut out place (from the holes) and glue it down. that's about the cheapest way. if you just have a few spots, you might be able to find a suitable match to buy in little square foot trial pieces. hope that helps you out.
