Wilton carpet, like Axminster carpet, is woven. However the difference between the two methods is the way in which the carpet is woven. Whereas the Axminster yarn is woven into each weft and then cut to the required pile height and then reinserted when that colour is needed again –the Wilton carpet yarn is a continuous strand woven all the way through.

Q: does anyone have this carpet cleaner? I saw some good reviews on this and it is in my price range. But in the reviews it didn't say much about cleaning up pee stains. I need need this carpet cleaner to specifically clean my dogs pee stains. If you don't know about this carpet cleaner any other suggestions on another carpet cleaner?
Cleaning up pee isn't much different than soda pop or orange juice, etc. It's a matter of steaming to release, then a wetvac extracts the substance and steam. Repeated passes will increase the effect. If you have stains in the carpet, the pad underneath may be compromised, in which case no steamer will get all the ammonia out. Best thing to do in that case is to have the pad replaced. If that's not feasible, at least find the enzyme treatment which helps break down ammonia -- usually it's at the vac rental area of the store.
Q: What causes carpet around the edges to turn grey in a stairwell?
The technical term, as used by the carpet cleaning industry, is Filter Dirt. This term refers to soil/dust that has passed through the furnace duct work, and the furnace air filter, and has now attached it self to the carpet fibers. When this dust is circulating through the house, from the cold air return to the heat/air ducts, it picks up an electric charge which makes it difficult to remove from the carpet fibers. When it shows up on the edge of each step, it is thought that the dirt/soil is coming up from the under side of the steps, through the small crack in the wood base holding up the steps. Some people plagued with this problem, have replaced the carpet ,and prior to this, caulked the seams between the steps and the wall. You need to look at getting your air ducts professionally cleaned. They should be cleaned every 5 years, anyway. also, you may need to consider replacing your furnace air filter with a paper pleated style. Do not purchase the 3 for a dollar fiberglass style. The cheap filters have the ability to only trap golf balls and pop cans. They allow most soil and dirt to pass right on through the system. Change your furnace air filter every 4 months religiously. Use a black marker to write on the duct work near the furnace of your change out dates. This gives you a written filter change out record in an appropriate location. The carpet cleaning industry does have a solvent based product to help clean the filtration soil from the carpet. One is called Filter Out. from Pro's Choice. Sometimes the stains are permanent, as the soil while traveling between the air ducts is picking up cooking oils from the kitchen, making for a difficult oil/dust, electrically charged stain to remove. These stains are also found around furniture setting right on the floor, and under doors that remain closed. Hope I've given you some guidance to help deal with future filtration soil problems in your home. (3M makes the best paper pleated air funace filters)
Q: Is rubber mat needed for the carpet's stitching?
It is necessary. If you do not put the rubber pad, the ground will be very slippery, easy to walk type!
Q: Why carpet can cause indoor environment formaldehyde pollution?
Carpet causes skin allergy. The fine wool carpet is a kind of sensitization source. In the process of use, the fine wool has reached a certain degree of destruction due to constant friction. The fine lint released can cause skin allergy and even cause asthma.
Q: I just purchased an 8x11 handmade wool rug online. I am not sure if I need a rug pad under it to keep it from slipping or whatever. I've seen a few rubber ones that cost around $80 and some thicker plush ones going for over $100. Is it really worth it?
You will either need a rug pad or carpet tape to protect your new purchase from slipping and wrinkling. As to which you prefer, it depends on how plush the rug you purchased is. I have a very dense wool rug in my kitchen that is on ceramic tile and used two sided carpet tape to anchor it down. This enables me to have it vacuummed without fighting the edges with the suction and keeps it from wrinkling while doing so. It is thick enough on its own that a rug pad is unnecessary. That being said, I also have another rug under which I have a rug pad mainly to protect the flooring underneath it. It has a rough jute backing that with constant traffic will scratch the floor under it, hence the rug pad.
Q: what is the grade of the carpet after fire retardant treatment?
it mainly depends on what the fire inspector say. the more wool the carpet contains, the better the flame retardant effect is, of course. Other materials will also be flame retardant
Q: What color does the red carpet have on the stage?
Generally speaking, in terms of color, cold tones and warm tones match each other individuallyWarm colors + cool colors: red, vs, blue, yellow, vs, purple, this match is relative color matching;Light color: light blue vs + dark blue, pink vs grey, with this method, is the depth of color;Warm colors + warm colors: yellow, vs, red, yellow, vs, green, this match is a match color;Cool color + cool colors: gray, vs, black, purple, vs, black, this match is a match color;Bright + dark lines: white vs black, this match is the light and shade matching, deep color matching and shading, creating different visual effects.
Q: What kind of material carpet is easy to clean?
Chemical fiber cleaning, small pieces placed in the washing machine can be washed. Most of the back of a layer of plastic, laying the ground will run, and there are more cleaning, the back will become debris.
Q: I recently spilled some glue on my carpet and in the process of getting it out I caused the carpet to stretch some and bubble up slightly. My question is whether or no the apartment complex will make me replace the whole carpet or just pay for it to be patched? It's a four person apartment in a college community where everyone is on separate leases and there is a visible seam between the living room and the hall way so i doubt I would have to replace the carpet for the whole apartment but maybe the living room. Can they charge full price for carpet if it is roughly 3-4 years old and had stains on it when I moved in? My lease states carpet repair costs between 100-200 dollars but they reserve the right to charge more. The deposit was waved when I signed the lease. I live in Kentucky if that make a difference.
Unless the Land Lord saved a remnant of the original carpet when it was installed, the entire carpet will have to be replaced because the colors won't match. The die lots vary from carpet roll to carpet roll, even of the same colors. Only a remnant from the original carpet installation will match. If the Land Lord has remnants, the cost to repair will be a couple of hundred. If the land lord does not have remnants, the cost to replace will be several thousand. The good news is the carpet must be prorated for the previous wear and tear. Every state has a different expected life for a carpet. It can run from 5 yrs. to 10 yrs. depending upon your state. Take the value of replacing the carpet, divide it by expected life and deduct the number of years the old carpet was in use.
Q: I was painting my nails this morning with bright pink nail varnish and i dropped it and it splashed all over my cream carpet, bed and white draws i have sorted the bed and staws out but the carpet is left!i have tried nail varnish remover but it smudged it! would 1001 work? what else?
To remove nail polish from carpets, nail polish remover will work but you need to use caution because it can also remove dye from your carpet or upholstery. You can try and bleach your carpet, but only if you have a white carpet. also; You can remove nail polish stain of a fabric, carpets, and counter tops using Motsenbocker's Lift Off #3. We tried it on our quilt an it made the nail polish stain just disappear, like magic! You can purchase it at any hardware store. We purchased it at The Home Depot for about $6.00. It also removes permanent ink and marker stains.
