- Wax Removal from Carpet The last thing any of us need is wax dripped on the carpet. Once it hardens, it seems impossible to remove. All is not lost though. For cleaning carpet stains made by wax, first chip off as much of the surface wax as possible, using a dull knife or paint scraper. Once that is done, place a cloth or several layers of paper towels over the wax and apply a warm iron. Iron the towel for a few minutes and then lift. The wax should now be on the cloth instead of the carpet. Remove carpet stains left behind by blotting with a vinegar, or if it doesn't come up easily, nail polish remover. Good Luck!!.....:)

- I have been renovating homes for 31 (good grief) years. I do everything but install the carpet. You install carpet by hiring a carpet installer. Call some carpet supply houses (NOT Lowe's or HD) and they'll be happy to recommend a few good installers.
- Q: So my brother and his friends were tie dying some shirts at my house and some how a bunch of dye got on the carpeting. Is there anyway to get that out? Also any way to get ink stains out of the carpet as well?
- Well, if it is a bunch of dye there isn't much you can do except replace the carpet. The stain is permanent. If the spot isn't too big, you can do a Carpet Transplant: Cut the stain out using a razor knife. Be careful to cut only the carpet, not the padding under it. Cut a piece of replacement carpet from a place no one will ever notice, like from inside a closet. Put the ruined piece on a piece of paper and trace around it. This will be your template. Cut this out and use it as a pattern for the new piece. You want an exact match in shape. Glue the replacement piece of carpet in place using waterproof glue. Attach it to the padding underneath. Or you can sew it into place by sewing it to the existing carpet. (You will need a curved needle if you sew it in place.) The repair should be invisible when you're done. -
- Q: Because I live in aus and the temperatures range from *lowest 6-10C winter* and highest around 36C in summer, with no dramatic weather usually, would a horse the is kept out in a paddock all its life **pleasure horse** need such rugs like winter and summer etc? - If you are going to clip the horse then absolutely it will need a rug. Depending on what you are doing with it as far as excercise goes maybe it will even need two rugs and a neck rug. In the summer time if you are doing lot of excercise or if you are living in a place where the flies are bad (which is most of Australia) then a light summer sheet might be useful too. Horses are pretty adaptable and will grow long hair in the winter to keep themselves warm but just remember this, if you decide not to rug your horse in the winter you will have to spend more money on food for the horse because it will be using all its energy to keep warm and may struggle to put on weight. If you do not rug then DO NOT clip. That would be cruel! Hope this helps.
- Q: My couch is black leather. I have a glass top coffe table with black legs. My tv is black, and the TV stand is black w/ a very dark wood. Also some other dark wooden misc peices that match. I want to paint the walls a fire engine red to make the room pop, but I also need a rug. I've been searching every store everywhere, but NOTHING seems to match. We tried several animal prints, but it ended up look tacky. Any suggestions??
- I would never do the room fire engine red......I would do it tomato soup red which is good enough to make it pop without it being to loud. Try Pier One for a rug
- Q: My 3 year old cat started urinating everywhere once i brought my new baby home, it took a while for my cat to get used having someone new at home. its been a year and he only urinates on the rugs now. I removed all the rugs that i have but once i put them back he's at it again. Im running out of patience! note: the vet ruled out any urinary infection.

- They should warranty it if the carpet itself has a stain blocker warranty. Not all carpets do. Check your paper work for the type you have. Any good company will have given you paper work on the stain properties. Damage to the walls will fall on the installers shoulders. Take pictures and start complaining ASAP. Empire should contact the installers and make them pay for it. And your salesperson will handle the warranty work as far as filing a claim. Don t give in if it brand new and has a warranty.
