Q: I have a universal 02 sensor 4 wire (black, black, white and blue) the stock is white black and grey how do I wire it? thanks :)
Keep in mind the sensor has a signal wire, a ground wire and a heater wire (or wires). Good luck!
Q: And how can you not get them in hair straightener wires? Thanks!
Short in a wire is when two wires either don't connect cuz they're not long enough, OR when the wires start to smoke or burn or catch on fire.
Q: I have a new light fixture I am trying to install. The electrical box has two sets of black and white wires coming in. Both of the black wires are connected together while the white wires from either set were used to connect the old fixture. How should I wire in the new fixture. The switch for this light has only one set of black and white wires connected to the light switch.
If you don't get it, you need to simply hire a qualified electrician so you don't screw up the fixture. Either that or see if there is a wall switch for the fixture for starters. Most people simply put black tape on the white wire that comes back from the switch because it is hot.
Q: The drawing shows two long, straight wires that are suspended from the ceiling. The mass per unit of length of each wire is 0.050kg/m. Each of the four strings suspending the wires has a length of 1.2m. When the wires carry identical currents in opposite directions, the angel between the strings holding the two wires is 15 degrees. What is the current in each wire?? Im not sure what equations to use for this problem.
Look at it this way a current I2 causes a magnetic field. if a current I1 is in a magnetic field then a force acts on it. F=I1*B*dl where B=I2*(mu0)/(2*pi*d) So the force between those two wires is given by this equation F=I1*I2*(mu0)*dl/(2*pi*d) mu0=4*pi*10power7 d the distance between them In this case I1=I2 dl which shows the lenght of the wire in the magnetic field equals 1 because you do not care about it's lenght from here on it is rather simple I hope
Q: The resistivity of a 18.0 m long wire is 3.76E-8 Ω.m and its cross sectional area is 6.52E-6 m2. If the wire carries a current of 1.44 A, what is the voltage across the wire?
R = ( rho x l)/A Where: R is the resistance, rho the resistivity, l the length and A the area Resiatance of wire = (3.76 x 10^-8 x 18)/6.52 x 10^-6 R = 0.1038 Ohms Voltage across wire = current through wire x resistance of wire V = I x R V = 1.44 x 0.1038 V = 0.14947 V = 0.15 Volts
Q: 2 wires and ground to oven with 3 wires and ground
Regarding the cooktop: It has NO 120 v component, no timer, electronic controls, etc. Again it has a red, black, and bare ground in the whip. I have also looked around at a number of models like this and none requires anything more than 40 amp circuit and 8 gauge wire. Regarding the double oven: It has some 120 V components, a timer, electronic controls, and lights (it is a pretty modern system). I also downloaded the manual for this model from Maytag's site and it indicates that 8-gauge wire should be used, but the drawings only indicate a 4-wire whip. I triple-checked again tonight and I can only find the 3 wires - red, black, and white. I couldn't pull the ovens out as we were working on the floors. I can do that later. So I am wondering what to do. I can try to call Maytag and see if someone can help me. However, the manual has confused me - perhaps it is for a more recent version of this particular model double oven. Then manual also says If codes permit and a separate ground wire is used, it is recommended that a qualified electrical installer determine that the ground path and the wire gauge are in accordance with local codes. Check with a qualified electrical installer if you are not sure the oven is properly grounded. This oven must be connected to a grounded metal, permanent wiring system. Manual also says 40 am service - 8 gauge wire required.
Q: Is there special speaker wire in order to run 250 watts max rms or will the oem speaker wire in the car be sufficient (did not originally have an amp and is most likely at 50 watts max rms). If I need a special wire for that please let me know what it is called and possibly an example link. Thanks!
most likely the wire pre ran in the car was 16 guage wire which is fairly small id recomend atleast 12G for speakers and 8G for a power wire.
Q: The switches for the ventilation have 6 wires coming out of the ceiling. My ventilation unit has 5 wires. The ceiling has 2 black, 2 red, and 2 white wires. The ventilation unit has yellow, black, white, red, and blue. how do i make the connections?
Get a real electrician who can work out which wire goes where. It isn't worth risking your house or your life.
Q: I just purchased a Pyle Audio aftermarket radio. The wiring is very different actually. It only has 2 single speaker wires (1for each side). So do I hook up multiple wires to one wire or what? I was thinking that I hook up the left front and rear speakers to the left speaker wire and vice versa for the other side. Need some advice.
Do you have a model number, so we can research your radio?
Q: im hooking a amp up and i need to run my remote wire to my ignition wire
I have wired up alot of amps and the remote wire on the amp should be connected to the power antenna/amp turn on wire on the stereo head unit. This allows the amp to only turn on when the stereo is on. If you are connecting an amp to a factory stereo,I see why you would need to find an ignition wire. You need to probe the fuse panel with a 12 volt test light to find a circuit that only comes on with the key. Usually there is a spare accessory fuse location just for this. Buy a fuse tap or specialty fuse from a auto parts store to connect your remote wire to. There is very little current draw to turn on the amp,so almost any circuit on the fuse panel will work if it is only on with the key.
