Q: :) approximatley how many and where would you buy them :/ :) x peacce dudes
LIKE A BAJILLION!!! You can never have too many water pumps. You buy them from the water pump store on the corner of 85th and Broadway, next to the Wachovia Bank branch across the street. P.S.: Africa is NOT a country. LMAO!!!
Q: i replaced the water pump and redid the timing belt. now when i start it, it sounds like one of the cylinder is misfiring and makes a chucking noise. do you have to reconnect everything together to see if thats the problem? the engine worked fine before i replaced my water pump. engine like vibrates at each chucking noise. could it be incorrect timing even when the engine starts fine? or is one of the valves bent which is causing the vibration and noise? i checked teh spark plugs and they are fine could if be bad coils? or is the crankshaft weared out? please help and thanks for you help about my situation.
timing is off. did u line the makesbefore taking the belt off ,and did i spin the motor two full turn to see if the timing makes line up
Q: How can I do a pressure test on my 350's water pump. Some one suggested I do it to make sure it needs replacing.
What makes you think the water pump is bad? If it has a bad seal/bushing then it will be leaking coolant out of the bottom eyelet on the water pump itself and you would be losing coolant, if its overheating then that could be air trapped in the system and may just need to be flushed or ran for a little bit to circulate the system. I would check these options first but if you want to pressure test it just start the vehicle and squeeze the upper radiator hose to see if there is pressure on the hose. I hope this helps you my friend.
Q: I have taken off the fan, and radiator, and ect, and i'm down to this silver circle thing-the fan clutch i believe and black circualr piece that connects to the actual water pump. I need help getting the quot;fan clutchoff. I tried using a wrench and wrenching on this peice between that and the black piece, but i cant stop the black piece from moving. I tried this site called pelican or w.e, but they dont tell u how to do that. I'm stuck, plz help!
You need a viscous cooling fan spanner (32mm) and something to hold the water pump still. The cooling fan has a left hand thread by the way and will need a sharp blow with a rubber mallet to shift it. BMW have special tools for this job which are 11 5 030 and 11 5 040. Viscous cooling fan spanners are available in shops and I dare say you can find or make something to brace the water pump bolts. A large screwdriver or breaker bar have been known to work. Whichever method you use watch your knuckles!
Q: I think its the water pump, I fill the coolant with water everyday and it is empty once I make it to my destination.
Call the shop where you are going to have the work done to get the cost as it varies by area and shop. You really should not be driving it if it's leaking that bad: You stand a chance of warping the head.
Q: Why does the water pump in the tank pull out the power supply and then plug it in?
Unplug the power, pump into the water, exhaust air, and then connected to the power supply
Q: I was recently driving and noticed my heat gauge in the red. I have a 1992 Honda Accord 4 door LX. When I opened the hood what appears to be water was all over the place. Is this the water pump or something else? I want to fix it this weekend so I was hoping for a better understanding of what it might be. I am aware of the labor involved with the water pump and removing the timing belts to get to it. Thanks a bunch in advance!
Almost certainly not the water pump. It will leak from the weep hole on the back of the block, near the timing belt housing if it fails, and that won't produce coolant all over the engine. My daughter's 1993 Accord water pump failed and I had a hard time seeing the leakage because most of it happened gradually when on the road. Even if the shaft leaked because the weep hole was plugged it would be inside timing belt cover, not spraying all over. My bets are on a hose, especially near the thermostat housing where the heat is the highest. The thermostat is in a housing on the back edge of the engine - follow the lower radiator hose (weird, huh?) back to the housing. Several hoses come together there. The thermostat isn't going to cause the leak but you need to know where the housing is. The radiator is also a major suspect. As long as you got the engine stopped pretty soon after the overheating began the head gasket is going to be okay, too - it is not a good suspect for the symptoms you have so far. The easiest way to see where the leak is when there is that much loss is to refill the radiator with purified water - never put tap water in the cooling system except in an emergency - and let the engine idle until you see it dripping on the ground (remove the splash guard under the nose) or spraying under the hood.
Q: how do i remove and replace the water pump on a 2003 ford focus with a 2.0 engine

Q: Hey I need to pump water from a river and use be able to use it through a hose and also make the hose have pressure. I was thinking pump the water into a barrel and into a hose or something from there? Anyone know anything about if this would work? What would I need? thanks
tried to send pix of water pump. no paste function on answers. anyhow a pulley at the top and bottom w/ a paddle wheel ran by river current. gear it down small pulley on paddle to big rope pulley under water to soak rope. an adjustable wringer pulley at top squishes water from soft rope into a drum or tank. i will try to email picture.
