- I love my carpet have had it about 4 years.. its made of recycled plastic milk cartons, according to my carpet dealer they are all making this type of carpet now, but mine was from Mohawk. There are certain letters on it I think its PET, ask your carpet dealer. It will not stain at all.. I really don't see any traffic marks and part of the carpet is in an area between 2 doorways that gets a lot of traffic. It looks like a normal wool/ polyester carpet it feels just as soft but has great durability, I highly recommend it! The other type I would recommend is berber.. its not as soft.. and if you have pets it wouldn't work like my carpet(cats like to scratch on it and it will stain) but it won't show a traffic pattern its very strong and used in more office settings than homes.

- You need to get the carpet professionally cleaned. Your cleaning added soap to the carpeting. Your portable did not extract the soap out. Imagine putting laundry detergent on your shirt and not rinsing it. Walk on it for a few days and see how dirty it gets. Have the Professional use DE FOAMER. Call 1800 chem dry Once the carpets are clean do not use Spotters with soap in it. Home depot carries Chem Dry Stain Extinguisher Do not use vinegar unless you know what the stain is and what you are doing. It is an acid. If you have an acidic stain and use vinegar you increase the pH. We use vinegar to help correct pH problems when a carpet discolors from previous cleaners. We also use litimus paper to check for ph.
- Q: I know they make oxy cleaner for almost everything these days and they make oxy carpet cleaner but i was wondering seeing the powder oxy is cheaper then the the already made carpet cleaner can i use the tub of oxy (if i mix it with water) on the stains on my carpets just like you would use in your laundry will it do the samething or should i just buy the cleaner itself?
- As a carpet cleaning pro, I've seen hundreds of damaged carpets, mostly Nylon or Polyester, where a laundry product permanently damage the carpet dyes. When inquiring as to what caused the damage, the number one culprit was Oxy Clean Laundry Detergent. About 6 years ago, I came across a couple who used this product to fine tune the spills and stains in their carpet, severly damaging the Nylon carpet in numerous areas. They did receive a settlement from the Oxy company at that time to help replace their carpet. Their ads made it sound like they had a miracle product available. If you have Olefin carpeting, a laundry detergent may not hurt these fibers, but why take a chance. Never use bleach on any spill or stain on furniture or carpeting. I've seen thousands of damaged carpets cause by the mis - use of this laundry product.

- Q: I recently spilled some glue on my carpet and in the process of getting it out I caused the carpet to stretch some and bubble up slightly. My question is whether or no the apartment complex will make me replace the whole carpet or just pay for it to be patched? It's a four person apartment in a college community where everyone is on separate leases and there is a visible seam between the living room and the hall way so i doubt I would have to replace the carpet for the whole apartment but maybe the living room. Can they charge full price for carpet if it is roughly 3-4 years old and had stains on it when I moved in? My lease states carpet repair costs between 100-200 dollars but they reserve the right to charge more. The deposit was waved when I signed the lease. I live in Kentucky if that make a difference.
- their recovery is limited to the actual value, when you moved in, of the carpet that will be replaced, plus the actual cost of removing the old bit [which is pretty cheap]. thus, stained reduces the value they had, as well as age.
