Q: hi guys i just got my carpet cleaned and my son said in his room it had a strong scent, and i was wondering if this is toxic and harmful, plus straight after we got it cleaned he got out of his bed and put his hands and feet on it, i also have a parrot is this safe for her, so basiclly my question is how safe is carpet cleaning
Yes! Carpet cleaning is very safe. Many people that are allergic to certain things get their carpets cleaned on a regular basis so they do not get sick. If you are concerned about the cleaning process or the soap or chemicals they use you should call up some carpet cleaners and tell them your concerns. They are usually very friendly and helpful. :)

Q: want to clean carpet that has paint and glue in it without fading or ruin carpet ?
You can usually remove spilled paint and glue with scissors. Often these products are just on the very tips of the fibers. If this is the case you can just snip them off with sharp scissors. Just cut the very tips of the fibers. Work slowly. Don't cut a single millimeter more than you have to and pull up while cutting. This will help prevent divots in the carpet. Try your best to do just one or two fibers at a time...not a whole clump. And dissect the spills first by cutting them in half or thirds, so that you separate clumps. This will work unless you have already used a solvent and have worked the products into the carpet. Also...cutting the nail polish works on shag or plush carpet, but not Berber or loopy carpet. Good luck. -
Q: One night, I was bored, so I decided to use the carpet cleaner on the carpet. The next day, I needed to use the computer for various reasons, which was in the room I used the cleaner on. I went in and went on the computer, until my mom found me on, and told me that you can't step on wet carpet, otherwise it grows mold. She got that from a professional cleaner. So, does anyone know if its true or not?
Stepping on carpet isn't going to make it mold, Mold can start to grow within 4 hours of carpet getting wet, You need to get some air circulating on that carpet . it should only take a couple of hours to dry, Put some fans blowing on it or any way you can get air movement, Open the windows or do all of these thing It sounds like you saturated the carpet , this is a common mistake people make cleaning there own carpets, good luck
Q: I'm trying to find a bright sky blue rug that's about 3 feet by 5 feet. Hopefully for less than 50 bucks?
wal-mart is usually a pretty good bet, i've found a lot of area rugs there for $20-$25. if you're looking for brighter colors though i'd try for Target...they tend to have some really bright colors in the dorm-kinda furnishing areas.
Q: When do you feel it is too cold or too hot for your horse and you need to rug him/her? How can you tell if your horse needs to be rugged or unrugged? Thanks, and could you also include some points about the differant types of rugs and what each are best for and when you should use them eg. winter rugs, summer rugs, cavasson (i think thats it:)), ect. thanks! xx
Well I live in Australia [ yeah dont ask why I am on the uk ireland one - thought I signed up to the other one LOL ] In winter it will be around the mid teens [ degrees celcious ] and usally windy and cold, my horse will have his winter rug on - 600d medium weight. and that is it. As soon as it is middle of spring comnig into summer I strip him and leave him unrugged. in saying this he is a hardy horse and he was unrugged for years before I owned him so he doesnt really need to be rugged, I just feel bad in the middle of winter having him rugless.
Q: Handmade rag rug, about 40 or 50 years old. It has gotten very dirty over the years and also has smoke smell in it. Any ideas how to clean it or what type of establishment would clean it? Thanks!
Rag Rugs are usually pretty durable, so take it to your local laundromat that has a large capacity washer (some are double loads and some even have quadruple load washers) and throw it in with some regular laundry detergent on cold. I would spin it as dry as you can in the machine and then take it home and let it air dry. It could shrink if you throw it in the dryer. It should wash up very well.
Q: How do I keep the the coffe table from digging into the area rug (persian rug) and moving around ?
I like the matting that goes under the carpet rather than tape.
Q: thinking of getting 2 of the kool coat lites! (the white rug with light blue lining, and no shoulder gusset)whats your opinion, and if u own this rug, is it a good rug
The Kool coats are good rugs. Personally I don't use the lites, I use the regular as they are more resistant to rips etc. Same rug cut, just a heavier material. If it is hot where you are they will be great for your horse. My fellow had the regular on all summer (NSW/VIC border 44c) and I never found him sweating at all. But if you horse is not in with others who may rip it, the lite will be fine. They are a very generous rug in size, generally don't rub and have a good tail flap. They are a really good price and the sale is going to end soon! Now.... on that note.... I really did not need to be directed to the Horseland catalogue, as I have already spent WAAAAY TOO MUCH already this month!!! Seeing the catalogue reminded of a couple of things I could get, that I really don't need. LOL ;-) They rug will be fine for you. Good luck ;-) ADD - I use the weatherbeeta rugs with belly straps and my cottons don't have belly straps. As long as you have them adjusted correctly they are fine ;-)
Q: please tell me how to tell whether or not to put a rug my horse, she lives out she is not clipped but she will be soon i live in cavan ireland so it can get cold so could someone tell me what signs i should look out for to tell when is the right time to put on a rug.p.s my horse is an irish sports horse if that makes a diffrence
Well when she is not clipped only put it on if you are positive she needs it. When in doubt go without. When she is clipped it depends on what short of clip if it's summer just get a lightweight cotton rug if it's winter get a good heavy rug. Remember though for when she is not clipped her hair acts like a heater and an aircon Remember for when she is not clipped When In Doubt Go Without Feeling the bottom of her ears is also a good indication of weather she is cold or hot.
