You okorder / , but think they are too small, you could always make them bigger. You may email me if you have any other questions.
Q: How do I turn my finished latch hook project into a rug?
Stitch okorder /
Q: How to remove carpet mites
If it is manual, you can ask professional manufacturers to wash, don't go to the laundry shop.
Q: we live in a rented apartment, we have carpet installed but we would prefer hard wood so much better. is there a way, inexpensive much preferred, to have hard wood over the carpet without damaging the carpet? hope to hear some interesting suggestions, thanks!!
Easy, simply build a new floor on top of the carpet but which does not apply pressure on the carpet. Imagine a thin sheet of plywood. Now, what you do is drive a bunch of nails through so they stick out about 1 on the other side. Space the nails an inch apart so the entire sheet of plywood will sit in top of the nails all of which are no further than an inch from an adjacent neighboring nail, as they go through the carpet to the hard subfloor. All you do is poke small holes in the carpet and padding. The same thing happens when a person lies on a bed of nails. The closely spaced, many nails spread the weight over a much larger area transferring the weight through the carpet rather than ON the carpet to the solid wood subfloor. Now, the problem is, how do you keep your weight from simply pushing the plywood down around the nails? Easy again, lay on another sheet of plywood and glue it together. The top sheet (with your hardwood veneer) will sit on top of the nail heads. Use wood screws to clamp the sheets together and you have a durable top floor surface which will sit on pinpoints that go through the carpet harmlessly. Build enough to cover the carpet. You will add 2 or so the the height of the flooring. You will STILL have a problem, avoiding damage to the carpet by water or anything else spilled which will work through the cracks between sheets and end up in the rug and pad. Somehow, you will have to seal the top sheets to each other and to the walls to keep anything and everything from getting to the carpet. And then, you would have to work around the edge where the 2 lip would be at the carpet edge. A lot of factories do this same kind of elevated flooring to hide electrical cables and piping in places like rooms of electronics. The difference is they simply build channels for things since they have no carpet to protect, and they do not care if dirt gets into the channels where the wires and pipes are located. It is going to be VERY expensive!
Q: My carpets aren't exactly dirty but I always have people over and there is a lot traffic dirt where you can see the people walk a lot.My question is how can I clean the carpets really well? I have resolve foaming spray but I was just wondering if you had any other ideas. Thanks!
Carpeting okorder . Think about it for a second, when you put shampoo in your hair, do you not rinse it out. Many products on the market are a rip off, and this foaming spray is one of them. The carpet needs to be hot water rinsed and extracted to come clean, and no, this does not hurt the carpet.
Q: ok i got a new throw rug about a month ago and all of a sudden today my cat pissed on. Hes old.the cat it i think he did i for the last week because it was damp but i saw him i know how 2 get rid of the smell but how do i break him of it? and why does he do it?! P.S the carpet does not smell like that new smell
TAKE HIM TO A VET ASAP -- it could be a urinary blockage (or a urinary tract infection on its way to causing a blockage) and if if is, it can kill him VERY QUICKLY!!! If it turns out to NOT be that, at least you know for sure and can move on to the other possibilities! You say he's old, so it could just be the incontinence of old age. If there's something new going on at the house: new people/children, new pets, new furniture, used furniture that may have another animals scent on it, new room arrangements, etc., in the house that occurred around the time that you suspect he started doing this, then it could be that he's off-center and confused and emotionally distressed. Have you changed to a different litter or a different food. A different litter could upset his nose. A new food could upset his digestive system. BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. Would you be pissed off at a sick friend or relative because they pissed on your new rug?? NO!! You'd be upset about the situation, yes!!...BUT you'd do whatever you could to help that family member or friend!!! So, HELP YOUR CAT!!! HE'S A FAMILY MEMBER!!! Okay, sorry if it looks like I'm shouting, but, I'm not...caps are the only way I know to direct attention to important comments in the absence of being able to use bold and italics. As for the rug, you will need to clean it REALLY well to remove the odor of his urine, or he will return to that spot, even if he's totally well! I have included one or more links below to help you with that! There are some enzyme odor removers, as well, so I have included a link to a webpage that rates several. Just remember, your cat isn't scheming to piss you off. He's either sick or troubled, or simply having problems due to his old age. Best of luck and God bless! Lee
Q: We are going to have our 3 year old carpet stretched. We also need to have it professionally shampooed. Which service should we have done first?
Any proper cleaning should not get moisture into the padding. As far as carpet, only natural fibers have a chance of shrinkage (not common), such as wool. With over 10,000 cleanings under my belt, I personally have never come across carpet shrinkage due to cleaning, though I have heard of one case. Almost all wall-to-wall carpet nowadays is synthetic... usually nylon, polyester, or polypropylene. A rippling effect is almost always a result of poor installation, and is worsened by consistent foot traffic and the moving of heavy furniture. I usually recommend for my customers to have the carpet stretched prior to cleaning. Carpet being cleaned first has no effect on how well the carpet will be stretched. However, cleaning a carpet with ripples in it will not provide quite as nice results as opposed to a nicely stretched one. Flat and flush to the cleaner's equipment works best. If done correctly, the repair technician should cut a line of carpet from the baseboard and not just tuck the excess from stretching, otherwise the carpet will begin to ripple again in the future. With heavy rippling a power-stretcher must be used, but a simple knee kicker should work fine for mild cases. Having the cleaning done after allows the technician to clean up the tufts and debris left by the repair tech. Plus, you'll have a fighting chance of getting rid of possible ripple marks that may be left after stretching. I have heard it recommended both ways, but in actuality it's not extremely important which one you choose to do first. I've done it both ways many times and eventually settled toward preferring the carpet to be stretched first. Also, I wouldn't recommend having the carpet shampooed. This will leave an unwanted residue coating your carpet's fibers. It's best to use the hot water extraction method, commonly known as steam cleaning.
Q: Refreshing my memory been a while so wondering how to lay carpet with a seam. Don't have enough carpet so have some extra carpet that looks the same that I need to use so wanting to lay the carpet with a seam so all the carpet will look as one.
Practice - practice - practice First, the carpet pieces all need the fibers going in the same direction....if you can't do that, it won't matter how skilled you are at seaming a carpet, the piles running different dirctions will stand out. Clean cuts - you need a clean cut along the seam, on BOTH pieces to get them to look good when they are joined. Two kinds of tape - adhesive, and 'carpet' tape (which needs a seaming iron). BEFORE the carpet is stretched for the room, the adjacent pieces of carpet need to be joined. This involves making a straight, clean cut on both edges - this cut should match identically. I achieve this by overlapping the two pieces, and using a straight edge, cut through both layers at once. (You need a VERY sharp blade). Next, apply the seaming tape to the underside of the carpet. I prefer to use the professional grade carpet tape, and I own all the necessary carpet tools to do this. If you do not own them, they can be rented from a local business that rents tools and equipment. I wouldnt make the investment in tools for one room of carpet. If you are using carpet tape, cut it to fit the length of the seam (actually allow it to extend beyond the ends of the seam, for a couple of inches) Plug in the seaming iron, allow it to heat up, and then place it UNDER the carpet, but ON the tape. As the seaming iron heats up the tape, slide it along the length of the seam, pulling the carpet edges together behind it, and press them firmly into the tape. (A roller is handy for this) Do NOT overlap the edges, do NOT allow them to pucker...this is why a good clean cut is so important. Allow the tape to cool, and then you can stretch the carpet and trim it out. Have Fun
Q: How to clean the carpet in the company hall?
This may be fully paved engineering carpet. This is very easy to wash, just use a machine to clean. it doesn't cost much money for each square.
Q: The carpet guy came to our house and measured our room out the other day, and said to put the baseboards in after. I read on a lot of sites to do the base boards first. Is the carpet company asking us to do it this way so its easier for them? Should we put baseboards in first even though they say not to?
Baseboards after..then they can hide any staples used on the carpet edge and will be snug to the carpet for a finished look. The carpet guy is correct.
