- Here is my trick to training horses to use rugs... Step 1- Tie him up to cross ties and make sure that his hind quarters are not near any horses. I say this because if he gets scared and backs up, a horse may bite him, if they are protective of their space, or just don't like other horses. Step 2- Fold the rug in half and slowly and gently place it on his back. Step 3- Give the horse a treat and praise him. Step 4- Begin to unfold the blanket, slowly, and make sure that it is in the right place on his back. Praise him. Step 5- Begin to SLOWLY do one of the straps. Wait a moment and do one more. Stroke theb horse on his shoulder and finish slowly fastening the straps and praising the horse. Step 6- When the rug is on properly, let the horse stand in one place and get used to having something new on his back. Step 6- After about 5-10 minutes, lead the horse around slowly and be ready to let go of the lead rope if the horse suddenly freaks out. Remember to always praise the horse and take it SLOOOW. - Q: My 5 year old son and i are moving into a flat that has an existing carpet which the owner refuses to lift. I had a carpet cleaning company come in to clean the carpets today and they now seem ok. MY question is : Can carpets cause respiratory problems in young kids? We sleep on a futon which is very low so our heads will be near the carpet. - Actually carpets are not a hazard for kids. The only hazard would be when carpets are exposed. Since carpet is mostly exposed to dirt and dust, it may cause problems to youngsters especially it would affect the respiratory system. Just clean the carpet more regularly than the usual. Or... don't use carpets. It really depends on the kid whether he has a resperitory ailment or not. If the kid has problems on his respiration or some allergy related to dust, dirt and animal fur, definitely don't use carpets. It's best to be safe than sorry.

- CALL A CARPET STORE. It is worth what it will cost to have a professional fix it. (probably about $100-150). If you don't have any extra carpet, have them take some out of a closet and just replace it with a remnant of similar color. This way the repair carpet will be of the same dye lot. They will cut out a square, seam in a patch and restretch the carpet. It is worth having a carpet professional do it for you. The results won't be perfect, but it will look WAY better than if you did it yourself.

- if you don't want to just buy new carpet for your car i know a few companys make like dye in a can than is just like spray paint only thing is it can bleed when it gets soaken wet. if you decide to do this make sure your carpet is clean wear a rubber glove and spray are and rub it around with your gloved hand to make sure all carpet fibers are hit. i would just pay the $200 or so to get new color carpet installed because the dye isn't so cheap.

- yes, a carpet installer can patch it if there can be found a piece of carpet that closely matches it.if you can get it at a carpet store that would be the best,otherwise you can take a piece out of a bedroom closet or somewhere it won't be as noticeable.you can do it yourself but it is very complicated to explain on here.basically it is like a patch.

- They give you an estimate if you go in and tell them the size of the room. Removing is usually included in carpet stores but Home Depot might charge for that but you can ask.
