Q: I was just wondering because I need a new power supply for my computer. It is an Acer Aspire AM3910-U4012. Is the power cable that connects to the motherboard the only power cable I need to replace or will I need to replace all the cables in my computer for it to work properly?
If your current power supply is modular and you buy the same brand of modular power supply to replace it, then you can use most of the existing cables, if you want to. For most power supplies, all the cables are permanently attached. But there's nothing wrong with using existing cabling if it is modular. You have to be aware that different brands of power supplies use different types of modular cables, though. If you change brands of power supply, most likely you will need to replace all power cables, regardless of if they are modular or not...
Q: I have a hard drive that has an enclosure is there any way to take an internal 3.5hard drive and convert it to an only usb cable portable hard drive with no power cord?
No. Not a 3.5 hard drive. You can do it with a 2.5 laptop drive because the drive mechanics and electronics require less power. A 3.5 drive requires too much power for USB to provide. Though... In the near future, you will see USB ports that are capable of supplying more power than the standard .5 amps that USB currently provides. So after they come out, you might see it being a possibility then.
Q: I just got a cheap intel i3 custom pc build on OKorder. But, i have no idea on how to set up all those PSU cables and the fans and everything else (seller thought it was a great idea to unplug every cable inside, which led to me turning on the pc assuming everything was good to go which led to the cpu overheating after turning it on) But anyway, i need to know how to setup the psu cables. My PC looks like a mess with all those cables jumbled up together. There are 4 distinct think cables sticking out from the PSU and all the other cables come from the case or the fans. Some of the cables come with numbers (1, 2, 3) and some are already plugged into the mobo, so i don't want to touch those. How to do this?
CD/DVD drives and hard drive all use the same power connectors (multicolored), so plug them in whichever way you want. There is no specific order. Don't remove any ribbon cables, and if you wish to have a floppy drive, the power cable is slightly smaller than normal ones. Commonly, fans can be plugged in to any port on the motherboard as long as they reach without straining the cable. They can only be inserted one way and are likely three-prong so it should be easy. The numbers on your cords don't matter.
Q: I just bought a new power supply and it doesn't have the cables for my CD drives, how do I know when I buy a PSU if it will have all the cables I need? How do I know if its compatible with my motherb?
Do your research.
Q: should you run RCA cables and power next to each other?
as long as either one is shielded or insulated.
Q: my friend has a ps2 and i don't know which one hes got either the fat or the slim and i think the power cables for the fat and the slim are differnt so does the ps3 slim power cable work on any of them?
The slim is a two prong power cable however the fat one has a three prong.
Q: ok ive been having amp trouble lately. it wont turn on. ive figured the problem today when i got the voltage tester out. I have me Remote Turn On working. My ground is solid.RCAs connected properly.NO fuses are blown. ive checked all of them; 30 amp fuse for AMP, Max fuse under the hood, fuse relay center under the hood too, all good. connection from the power terminal is solid. heres what happened: i decided to move my amp and run the wires under the door sills because i needed more space. so i just had the car off and i disconnected my remote, power, and rcas. i left the ground because that didnt need to be moved.i dropped the power wire and it hit a seatbelt thing, and it sparked once. but not big.nothing blew, but now it seems like my power wire isnt working, my amp wont turn on-keep in mind my amp was not touched by the spark in any way.
that's odd. a power wire is way too big to burn and lose conductivity. no way, not on car amperage. u can look up any manufacturer dealer authorized electronics shop, or any electronics shop and have them bench test the amp to be safe. My guess is the conductivity of the power wire is compromised. look at the battery terminal connections, remove and clean them. maybe burnt. this is odd. seriously I installed many systems and I have sparked and no issues. also shorted battery ( i doubt) and as the man above says, main fuse / relay
Q: Silicone rubber insulated power cable blistering, stomatal reasons What are the improvements?
Silicone rubber insulated power cable blistering, stomata is caused by the process problems, silicone rubber insulated cable in the injection should be used when the vacuum casting, raw materials to fully degassed, otherwise there will be blistering and stomata, some small factories because there is no vacuum Injection equipment, coupled with poor degassing process will produce this poor product, to solve this problem is the first workshop to maintain constant temperature and humidity, the purchase of excellent performance of the vacuum injection equipment and vacuum mixing equipment, strict control of process parameters. Silicone rubber power cable for AC rated voltage 0.6 / 1KV and below fixed power transmission line or mobile electrical connection cable, the product has heat radiation, cold, acid and corrosive gases, waterproof and other characteristics, the cable structure is soft, Radiation, high temperature (alpine) environment, electrical performance and stability, anti-aging performance, long life, widely used in metallurgy, power, petrochemical, electronics, automobile manufacturing and other industries
Q: One of my ottocinclus is munching on a little brown algae that's on the aquarium heater's power cable. Not dangerous, I guess? I don't think they can actually bite through it and expose the wire...?
It's probably just scraping algae off the cable, not eating the insulation. It could eventually chew through the insulation, it were really determined, but it would take a fish the size of an oto a really long time to do that. You probably have nothing to worry about.
Q: I recently bought a Logitech Rechargeable Speaker S315i, but i lost the power supply at a party. I was wondering if anyone know of a website where i could just order another cable (that fits and work) for the rechargeable speakers. 100-240v Power supply. Or do i have to buy a new speaker?
There is no direct benefit for the operation of the speakers by upgrading to a 750 watt power supply. The amplificatiion power is external. Only a small relatively small power signal is delivered by the computer
