- Q: I had bought a new stereo for my Dodge Neon, had installed it, and everything worked great for a couple days. Later my stereo was no longer getting power, I took it out to try to find out the problem. The power cable from the battery to the stereo is no longer intact. The little metal pin in the middle(no, I don't know exactly what it's called) broke off! I have no idea how, or even where it is, all I know is that it's gone and I don't know what to do! Is this a replaceable car part? If so, where do I find a new part, or where would I take my car to get the best help and possible answers? Would it be better to take it to a mechanic or to a stereo installation shop?
- the cables are not a life and run away from the dash , that never happends, and if the cable is there its not broken the power comes from the ignition switch not the battery , so you have a bad fuse or bad ignition switch most likely it is only a fuse, did you know there are 2 boxes ? check both

- Q: I have a hp laptop from south asia. The adapter connects with the laptop and the power cable. The power cable has a 3 round pin plug which says 6A 240V~. On the hp adapter for the input it says: 100-240V~ 1.6A 5-60Hz. It also says Connect Only to Grounded outlets.Now I am in canada. All i know is that here they have 120 V in normal power plugs. Also they have 1 round and 2 rectangular pins to plug in the outlet.I bought this adapter which basically connects the 3 round pin plug into the adapter and the adapter has 3 canadian pins. The thing is that it says 250V 10A on the adapter. So I am not sure if it will hurt my laptop if I use it. I am a bit confused because Canada has 120V and the adapter accepts 250V. The HP adapter has a range from 100-240V. Will this be ok to use since the HP adapter will just convert the 120V into the proper output for the laptop or do I need one the expensice Voltage converters for the laptop?
- ok here is what i would do .. (get a cheap 5 dollar volt meter at radio shack or such. ) it dont have to be digital or fancy , just need voltage reads.. unplug the lap top from the cord, plug in the adapter with the cord NOT IN THE COMPUTER. take the volt meter , and set it to read dc voltage 250v or above . read the volts comming out of the end of the cord using the meter.. is it less then 250 volts , then you should be good .. if you dont know how to read a volt meter, or know a handy neighbor with one , who knows how to us it , go ask them to read the cord for you , tell them you need to know the voltage output while connected to canadian power from the cord..

- Unplug it, get rid of the battery. Then carry the potential button for 10 seconds. Reinstall the battery, plug it in and charge the battery without using it until eventually it is totally charged.

- I can only tell you what my husband would say. He is a chemist and has done a lot of research on Electromagnetic Fields. He wouldn't buy it! Thirty years ago, he threw out our electric blankets! - Yes, it's ok. In fact, it wouldn't matter if it were RCA and the power wire, that's a myth. I quote, Technically, running your RCA wires and power wires shouldn't cause any problems and can be dubbed a myth. However, a lot of people will disagree. For induction between power and signal wire to occur, a form of AC (with some current) must be introduced on the DC power wire. The added signal through the power cable doesn't have enough current to do this. Alternator whine comes from poor (or damaged) filter circuits in the HU.
