Q: When I scoot into my desk my rug rolls up. I was thinking about putting double sided duct tape on it, but I don't know if it will hurt my carpet. Any advice? Thanks
then common sense tells you that the rug that is always rolling up isn't necessary/needed
Q: what is the measurelt;RUG
Rugs are measured by length and width, and by the height and density of he fibers in their nap.
Q: I am looking for a recipe that I can put in a spray bottle. A lot of the homemade concoctions I'm finding are ones that require dumping and rubbing into the stain, which I don't want to do as I have hardwood underneath and I've already overwashed my carpets from when my dogs were puppies. A lot of the store bought cleaners have discolored my carpets. I would like a solution I can spray on and blot up. Thanks
As a professional carpet cleaner, I can tell you the commercially made products are much better, easier to deal with and cheaper, really cheap if they are janitorial brands and really better if they are carpet cleaning trade brands. No sense in reinventing the wheel. Store bough cleaners did not discolor your carpet, the dog urine did. Your real solution is a certified pro or continue making a bad situation worse.
Q: Well, my cat pooped on my rug. It got rolled up now the whole rug smells horrible! Is there something I can use to make it smell better/fresh.
Quick fix: Febreeze. Won't clean it, but will hide the smell. Real fix: Clean with rag water then wash the whole rug in a (large) cold cycle with Woolite--NO dryer tho... hang it on a line somewhere. (Usually they're ok to wash; check for a tag on the rug that actually says it's ok first.) Also, don't overload your washer or you may break the washer. If the rug looks too big for your washer, you can always take it to a laundromat (won't get nastiness in your clothes washing machine either).
Q: We have a fantastic purple sheepskin rug that is in need of a really good clean, (4 year old and kitten have seen to that) is it safe to machine wash it or do i have to get it dry cleaned?
No. The fur will turn into a lumpy, matted mess. Take it to a dry cleaners. They'll charge you about $20, but it will come back like new. I had a small sheepskin that I got for my dogs to lie on and, of course, they got it pretty stinky. I washed it in the washing machine and it came out all matted and tangled. I also had a larger sheepskin rug that I sent to a dry cleaners and it came back like new.
Q: It's pretty funny because we are both artist but can't seem to agree on a rug. My living room is bubble gum pink, yes and extremely wild color. My sofa is a sage or dull fern green. My coffee table is dark walnut. What color rug would you place in this room? My FI was looking at a sage color rug with modern flowers on it my only problem is that it doesn't have any pink in it. We are aguring if the rug need pink in it to match. I found a dark sage rug with light pink accents but I am afraid it's tooo dark. What do you think I should aim for- a darker green then sofa or a lighter green?Any adivce would greatly help. And NO I will not change the color of my walls, I love my Barbie on Crack PINK color!!
You could choose a natural color rug
Q: I have dark brown furniture and i just painted my walls beige and gold! Would a dark color carpet make it look trendy? i thought of choosing dark purple as a carpet color, what do u think?
Dark purple is quite a commitment for wall-to-wall carpeting! Think about how long you plan to live with this color scheme before you make such a bold leap. You might consider a neutral carpet for the wall-to-wall (or a hard surface like wood or tile) and then use an area rug with all the colors of the room in it. Area rugs anchor a seating area and are also great at the foot of the bed. Rugs with pattern create visual interest and don't have to be expensive. You can get a 5 x 7 rug, in nylon, for under $200.
Q: I know carpet pythons are semi arboreal but do they need a vertical terrarium or would one be happy in a horizontal cage. And what is the minimum terrarium size for an adult jungle carpet python? Thanks:)
It depends on the size of the snake . They continue to grow so it really depends . I would say a 20 gallon long aquarium would be fine for most. You do not necessarily need a vertical cage . You do need a cage large enough so your snake can have hides/wooden boxes in different areas so he can have a warmer box closer to a light when he wants to warm up and a cooler hide/box in another area so he can regulate his temp. You can stack wooden boxes ( easily made ) with an entrance hole so that each one gets warm as it gets closer to your heat lamp. You could also put damp moss in one for a more humid hide . They are beautiful snakes a easy to care for . Just have accurate digital thermometers and one to measure your humidity level. I like to have one artificial branch for them to climb on.
Q: What carpet doesn't peel and can be machine washed?
Pure hand straight silk carpet, not wool, and can be machine wash, but the price is relatively high, but also have collection value
Q: My a/c was leaking and got my carpet wet. I want to make sure if it has some mold that i can treat it so it it wont make anyone sick.
Carpet usually can't sustain mold or fugus. It has to be somethin in or on the carpet for that to happen. Depending on how wet it got, you might have to pull the carpet back cut the pad out if it got soaked. The pad will act as a sponge keep everything wet thats where you'll run into problems. Take the peice to Home Depot to match it up replace it. Have the carpets professionaly cleaned
