Feature: 1. Direct Struction of a common axis. high efficiency. compact design, light weight, save space and easy to install.
2. With mechanical seal that guarantees leakage-free. shaft never damaged, save the trouble of intercalating gland packing and lengthen the life expectancy.
3. Special construction for the pump casing, high self priming capability.
4. With half open-type impeller which drainages waste water effectively.
5. Special minor impeller design helps to minimize the pressure imposed on the axis and motion lost. More effective than the balanced-hole design. Only initial water-adding is required to save the trouble of continously water-addings.
- Q: I just noticed a slight leak from my water pump. About the size of my fist. I called one mechanic and was told the 2001 BMW Z3's water pump seals are tight and do not leak with the car is running (engine is hot) but once the car cools the water pump seals expand resulting in the small leak, that I shouldn't worry about it unless it leaks more, the engine over-heats, or dash light turns on. The BMW said I should have the water pump replaced but he may have just said that to make a repair sale. Anyone out there know the truth?
- on that car the miles are critical for water pump replacement and maybe rad replacement including the t/stat and hoses//you are already over the time period/coolant system failure is imminent
- Q: Pump frequent start will reduce the service life, I ask what kind of frequency is called frequent start?
- Personally think that the quality of different motors have different effects on the motor, you can try, try a minute it ruined his frequency is a / S
- Q: The truck has 89k on it and i'm having the timing belt done this week; would it be wise to get the pump changed since it's in the same area, even though it's not leaking; for preventitive maintenance purposes, or is there life left in the pump? I don't want to take it back soon after if the pump does go out
- as a mechanic, I always OFFER the customer the option. The water pump can last a long time however, as you've probably been told, it is driven off the timing belt. Therefore, if, say six months from now the pump developes a leak, its like doing the whole job over. Now, the tech won't know for sure there isn't a small weepage at the pump seal until the parts are exposed. There is a vent hole or weep hole as some call it and it will get crusty stuff on it or coolant traces from it if the seal is beginning to leak. I have personally seen a few that have gone bad by the 90K service. You'd have to be awfully optimistic to think it's gonna last another 90K. Lastly though, the part going on should be a new pump, not a rebuilt. Quality is important. The only other item you have to look forward to failing, if it hasnt already is the starter contacts. A good shop familiar with this issue will replace the two contacts in the starter instead of gouging you for a reman unit. Hope that helps. Make sure they use the correct coolant formula for your vehicle. PS: those are awsome engines. a HUGE improvement over the 3.0 litre motor.
- Q: One mechanic told me that my Toyota Corolla 2004 CE's water pump is leaking and I need to change pump and its belt costing me around $450. I took it to other mechanic today and he told that water pump looks good and no need to worry. I need to know how I can verify that water pump is leaking or not. Below are some facts of the car that I noticed myself.1. The engine collant level is above half level about at 70% 2. I started my car around 8.30 PM @ 90 degree F after break of 3 hours and the temprature gauge reach to half in 5 minutes. Please advice what can be done to determine the leak is there or not else I have to take it to other mechanic.
- Look at the water pump. You will see a pink residue around the shaft. That's dried coolant that has leaked out. Feel underneath the waterpump's shaft housing (with the engine cool). It will be moist where there's a hole underside the housing. The hole is supposed to be there. Replacing that water pump is very easy for a mechnaic. The Corolla CE since 1998 has a timing chain instead of rubber belt. You don't need to remove the chain to get at the water pump. It is on the engine block and you'll need to take off the serpentine belt, passenger side front wheel, and an access panel in the wheel well. The pump costs about $50 and takes about 1/2 hour to change. The other $300 dollars is for the guy you talked to to pay his bookie. The serpentine belt will cost about $30 and takes 5 minutes to change. It has a spring loaded tensioner. The coolant level should never go down if there's no leak.
- Q: 1997 Caravelle 1900BR3.0L HO Volvo PentaSX Cobra OutdriveI have a small leak coming from my raw water pump, it is not a continuous stream just a drop every now and then. The best I can tell it is coming from between the shaft and water pump housing. Is there just a small o-ring there? How can this be fixed? We're going to the lake for Memorial Day Weekend. Will I be alright with the small drip for over the weekend? Then I'll fix it when I can get the parts.
- Well I don't know what mavrick is smoking but obviously he hasn't got a clue about a raw water pump on a volvo. He probably is on a sail boat. Here it is. There is a non replaceable seal on the shaft in the back of the pump. You have a 12 year old boat. Its time it went bad. The only way to repair it is to replace the pump. If you could get a seal from Volvo ( I will look it up in a minute) You would have to press the shaft out of the pump and this would more than likely end badly . You would end up replacing it anyway. So replace the pump , If it is just a small drip and the engine is not running hot you can run it but there is no telling when it will all of the sudden just disintegrate.
- Q: i have an 80' water well with an electric jet pump. is there an electric/manual water pump? i want to be able to have a hand pump attached to the electric pump, so i can still use water when the electricity goes out.
- Maybe you have to drill a sperate well.
- Q: my water pump is leaking how do i change it out
- The internet in great - - - you wonder how they (whoever) can load so much info ! SO just Google :change water pump - 1989 cadillac deville and you'll get many sites with step-by-step instructions.
- Q: How do you remove the water pump from bmw m42 engine?
- Remove fan from pulley (usually using a big special open end wrench) turning clockwise with you in front of the car/engine. Loosen bolts holding pulley to water pump (but do not remove bolts and pulley yet). Adjust fan belt tensioner to remove alternator belt (there is a plastic cover in the middle of the tensioner pulley under which is a bolt usually torx 50 with which you can adjust the pulley pulling clockwise/to the right). Proceed to remove bolts and pulley from water pump. Remove bolts from water pump. Put 2 screws into the empty/previously unused holes in the sides of the water pump to pull it out. Remove and replace water pump. Refill with coolant. Bleed cooling system to remove air from the system.
- Q: Recently my ford aerostar van started pouring water from the weephole of the waterpump and all my oil was just disappearing leaving just foam on the dipstick...we drained what oil was in it and there was antifreeze in the oil so we figured it was a blown head but it it possible for antifreeze to leak into the oil due to a bad waterpump?
- sounds like both? the weep hole is a sign the bushing on water pump shaft is wore out so a new pump or a rebuils is necessary. the foam in oil is worrisome!!head gasket first !hopefully not a ring or piston problem? if you have an extremely high mileage van and can do so? dump it!!get another, cheaper in the long run?
- Q: 55KW motor driven lift 70M, the displacement of 180 cubic meters per hour of water pump, the configuration should be no problem, but after the start of the current to 170A (rated 100A), off a small valve to the current export half to reach the rated current. Why current will close a small valve instead of small? Will close a small valve will not affect traffic flow can be? To the 180 party?
- If the power line is too long or too small, power line is too long or too small will cause excessive current. Valve shut down certainly affect the flow. When the valve is in the semi open state, the water pump out of the water flow down, the power to reduce, so the current drops.
