Q: Im looking at putting a little cabin on my property for hunting. i have a 200 gallon under ground water tank for fresh water. I'm needing a pump to run water into the cabin for a sink toilet and possibly a shower. does anyone know what style pump i will need so that it does not constantly build up pressure when not in use that way i don't burn it up.
The way wells work is there's a pump at the bottom. It pumps water into a holding tank that has a diaphragm separating water from an air charge. There's also a pressure sensor switch that kicks the pump on when the pressure in the water tank drops below 40 PSI and shuts it off when it reaches 60 PSI. Well water systems don't just run the pump constantly, or they would burn up. What you want to do is use your storage tank as a source. Pump that into a smaller holding tank from a well water system so that when you run the water you run it from the pressure in the holding tank. When the pressure is low enough the main tank pump will pump up the pressure in the holding tank back to 60 PSI and shut off again. It's well worth it to make sure you don't have leaks. Otherwise your main tank will end up empty and the pump will run on and on. Which is another thing you have to watch for. You can install a float level switch so that if the water in the main tank drops below a certain level it shuts the pump off. AND you can also have it switch a warning light on so you know when the big tank is empty. Hope this helps. '')
Q: I want to build a portable, working steam room display for trade shows. I need to feed water from a storage tank to a steam generator when it's called for. How can I do this? Is there a type of water pump that would work for this?
Be careful what you buy. Most aquarium pumps are AIR pumps. Why not just use a siphon? As long as the storage tank is higher than the generator it will work. Get a hose or plastic tubing of the size you need, put one end in the tank. Suck on the tubing to start flow. To stop flow just pinch off the pipe or raise the spout above the water level. you might even install a valve if the tubing is large enough.
Q: trying to instal pump and I can't get fan blade off It is a1999 chev 5,7 vortex
As John M said, they make special wrenches to remove the fan clutch from the water pump. It can be a pain in the... When I did mine on my 97, I ended up removing the fan and pump as one piece from the truck, then had to weld the impeller of the water pump to the housing to keep it from spinning, then use a big wrench on the fan clutch to get it loose!!! It was way too tight. Hopefully yours isn't that tight, but maybe it gave you an idea on how to get it apart. Good luck
Q: I'm going to buy a pump to take water from a lake and use it to water the grass at my cottage. I would like to run at least 2 hoses at the same time. I'm looking at one that's 3/4 horse. Is this too small? The yard is a little more than an acre.
A 3/4 horse pump usually has a one inch suction and 3/4 inch outlet and is more than enough to water one acre. Remember, you don't have to water every day or even cover the entire acre all in one day. The industrial/agricultural pump mentioned before (4 inch? 6 inch? Or more?) is intended for use on dozens of acres per day.
Q: I am planning to build a koi fish pond, and I know I need a water pump. All I know is that a water pump will circulates water. Does it do anything else? does it act like a filter? does it provide aeration or oxygen to the pond?
your koi pond should be in direct sunlight not in a shaded area. Also, just a water pump is used for fountains and waterfalls. this allows dissolved oxygen to enter the water since Koi and goldfish needs lots. Usually a pump is attached to a filter when it comes to ponds, however there are pumps and filters that are stand alone. If you have a large pond, I would suggest a biofilter box with a pump. usually they will have attachments for additions of fountains and waterfall hoses. A stand alone pump will not FILTER the water it will just add dissolved oxygen
Q: Because the water pressure is too small, this summer with self suction pump 750W, water is big, but every time that water is used for the first time out of the water is yellow like rust, probably after the release of 10 liters will become clear, then is not, but every one hour after the water time out is rusty hair yellow, so to waste a lot of water, but accidentally brought cooked food should not be good to the body. Now come in the water is through the pump, even without electricity, partition time for the first time water will be yellow, there is no master can teach me to disassemble, which can be cleaned?. Or something else. Thank you
If your pump is iron, it must be impossible to avoid rust, and if you replace it with stainless steel, there will be no problem. There is also a way to add a filter or water purifier at the front of the pump to make it a little better. You can change the flow parts into stainless steel, but the price may not be cheap
Q: WHERE IS THE WATER PUMP LOCATED ON A 1995 HONDA CIVIC
Hello, okorder
Q: I have a 1997 mazda 626 4cylinder. For a while now, my hot n cold gauge keeps wobbling back and forth. I was keeping water in it and it was fine. A week ago it went all the way to hot and started smoking. There is water gushing out right beside the pulleys. I'm not sure if it is the water pump or not. Now, my car won't crank. Someone told me that it was the rotor button, but i can't tell if it is bad. I don't really want to take it to a mechanic. Can someone help me?????
That's what happens to water pumps, they start leaking and you loose coolant. When the gauge started acting weird that should have been your first clue. Unless you or someone you know can replace the pump you will need to take it to a mechanic. When you said it would not crank, did you mean the engine is seized up or just would not start, there is a difference.
Q: My water pump went out. I had a new water pump put on my accord a year and a month ago. Since then have driven 5-6,000 miles in a small city town. Does this makes sense. Could it be a cheaper water pump was put on my car and it went out. The person who worked on it is a mechanic who does a bunch of cars on the side. Last time he worked on my brakes, I had to bring it back because he put cheap ones on.Can I call this guy back? What could I say?
usually 7-10 years so at 5000 miles take it back
Q: Leaks right under the water pumpOf my truck ford f-150
This could be a leaky gasket or the pump bearing and seal is defective. Gasket: Drain the antifreeze from your system. Remove the pump and clean both surfaces. Install a new gasket with proper compound and re install pump. You will have to top up your antifreeze properly. Defective seal/bearing Replace the water pump. Some auto parts stores will take your old pump back on exchange. the amount of money credited to you is not much but it keep the old water pump out of the landfills.
