- Q: please HELP. how to change my car tire?
- Hi there it is anti-clockwise to un-do the wheel nuts, but make sure you loosen them a turn before jacking up the car as this keeps the wheel in place, place a brick or a block of wood at the front and rear of a wheel thats not going to be lifted to prevent the car rolling and falling off the jack, if you are usin the emergancy jack that came with car, i would suggest you have every thing to hand like the new wheel ready to put on quickly as these jacks are designed for just that an emergancy tyre change if you are going to take your time about it buy a small trolley jack and axle stands then if you need to get under the car you can jack it up and support it safely on the stands. If this is going to a regular thing buy a tyre wrench with an extending handle as this makes light work of the wheel nuts, good luck with it.
- Q: I am doing a research project and I need to find pictures of classic muscle cars that have the back end all lifted up in the air. Like way up. Does anybody know what this style is called or just some terminology I can use in google to find them. Kind of like street drag racing style?? Thank you.
- Jacked up, or raked. Another possibility is a gasser these are the old oddly tall dragsters that were lifted and modified so full headers and large motors could be fit into a car that otherwise would not have had room. It was a trend in the 70s and 80s to jack up the rear of the car in order to fit wide tires that wouldn't fit inside the fenders. This is accomplished now by widening the fenders. (there were weight transfer issues with just jacking the suspention up)
- Q: What is the contact points for trucks and suvs when u lift them up on a two post lift. I know its on the frame, but what's the best spot on the frame to put the arms.
- bell housing area...you'll know where the balance point is when you start to lift
- Q: I replaced the shocks, but the front air lift bags in the coil springs wont hold air. I will be hauling a car. I kind of have no choice to get it fixed before I leave, so will this be ok? That should I expect?
- Should be ok, towing does not apply near as much weight on the hitch as if you trailed the car and towed it.
- Q: and can that thing I mentioned earlier be removed so that it becomes un-towable?
- Hello Normally a car is first clamped to stop it being moved, Then it depends what turns up. Some will lift the car onto the back of a small lorry (Normal with Police). And nothing you can do as even if you chained it to a lamp post they have the authority to cut it free. Others use a small lorry with a slopping rear to pull the car onto it, You could try putting your own clamp or chaining it to lamp post. that would only slow them down if it is a legal Tow as they would just call the Police Others use a thing called a Dolly it is like a trailer but only for the front wheels but as above. And if they have to get a lifting vehicle they will charge you for that as well. Lifting is preferred as it does not require the Hand Brake to be released or damaged Andy C
- Q: What is the deal with spoiler wings on the back of cars? Does it lift the car, making it lighter and thus faster, does it press the car downward, improving traction, does it simply improve aerodynamics making the car a little sleeker, or is it just there to look cool?

- Q: Ok I have a Mustang and need to replace an exhaust pipe that runs from the factory headers (keeping those) to about the middle of the car. i have a 2.5 ton floor jack and 2 jack stands. is there a point on the car that I can jack both sides up evenly at the same time, then put the jackstands under, or should I do one side at a time? how high do jack stands normally go? I need as much room as possible. Should I put the stands directly behind the front tires? just wanna make sure im safe here. thanks
- should I do one side at a time? yes one side at a time. Just behind the wheel just under the door is the PINCH weld. your floor jack and stand should be plenty enough for the mustang. Good Luck
- Q: So I have some money burning a hole in my pocket and my friend has a Honda Civic from 1991. We thought it would be great fun to lift it a good 3 or 4 inches just for grins. Problem is, since it‘s a unit-body car that‘s easier said than done. Any suggestions?
- What shade is it? Is it water, scent of gasoline, oily to touch? it must be gearbox oil, brake fluid, water, petrol or diesel, guidance fluid. you would be able to desire to apply a rag to sparkling up the section and attempt to establish the place its coming from and what it truly is. The decrease on the automobile that's the extra probable it truly is to leak even whilst the engine isn't working (gravity). verify the ranges for all the above fluid, superb them up and see if the point has diminished after working the engine for a collectively as. be careful if its gasoline.
- Q: I want to rent a car (from any company). I have enough cash to cover the rental plus all the insurance things for the time the car is rented. I dont have a personal credit card and i dont have the 300 plus cash deposit the companies would require.I DO however have a my job‘s credit card (which is in my name and could be used as a personal credit card if i didnt mind being fired lol). My question is, if i give that credit card to them and then return the cash and pay absolutely everything in full with cash will the hold or whatever they do show up on the credit card statement? I dont want to be fired but i need the car lol I hope i was clear.
- The rental car company will put a hold on the credit card to cover the rental. The hold will be lifted shortly after you have paid the bill in full. Make sure that you buy the insurance that covers any damage to the car such as dents and scratches. If not, any damages will be charged to the credit card. A little scratch or chip in the paint could end up costing hundreds of dollars. Good luck
