- Q: i am going to buy a ford excursion next week i found one i really like was planing on lifting it but i found one for $2000 more ready to go in a dealer 37 tires an not sure but looks like a 10-12 in lift. what i want to know is would it be cheaper to buy it ready to go or can i get the other one lifted tires and all for $2000 and please no smart *** comments i am new to this hole getting a car lifted but i always wanted one and now i have the $$$$ but no clue of what to look for
- The bigger lifts are allot of money. Another alternative would be fender trimming fender flares, and a combo lift like a body lift and a suspension Lift The big money kits are nice because they eliminate all the guess work of trying to match components and hunt down all the little stuff yourself its all there the drop link the shocks usually. You might find a more trail ready rig if you go with an older Ford that someones already invested time and money into like an old Bronco. the cheaper of the good big tires in my opinion is the Interco Bogger in the radial style Tire Don't get the Bias Ply unless you have the Rig off road all the time. Those Bias Plies take forever to warm up. Remember with the high dollar kits they usually ride allot nicer.
- Q: also i know this is outdated, but if you guys can answer it that‘d be awesome. how does a spoiler affect the car‘s performance vs. the wing they used to have.
- the splitter is the starting point where all the aerodynamic effects start. And if you notice the splitter is about a 1/16 off of the ground. It keeps all the forces on the car, and not underneath the car, where it would cause adverse effects, such as lift. And you want the car pushed against the track. And this is where the spoiler comes in. As the air flows over the race car, it hits the spoiler, which helps push down on the rear of the car, giving it more traction. The wing also serves the same purpose only the flaw with the wing is that it is not integral with the body and lets air between the wing and trunk lid. And when the car gets turned around actually lifts the car, and makes the car go airborne. Since the spoiler has no gap between it, and the trunk lid, there is less of a lifting effect if the car gets turned around at high speed. The splitter, and spoiler, are all part of the aerodynamic package that helps a race car perform better as speed increases.
- Q: i got a 1991 ford explorer.how do i lift it myself?do they make kits of this car?
- I would not suggest trying it unless you are a qualified mechanic. By the fact you are asking, I would say this is not the case. If you don't do it right, you will have some serious problems.
- Q: When Gohan was training with the Z sword, Goku threw huge rocks at them, what do you think it can compare to for us, what it‘s like to them to carry it?A piece of paper?A small rock?or what? Same for cars with them.
- you don,t have to bleed the brakes if all you did was change the pads. the only time you have to bleed brakes is if you change the calipers, a wheel cylinder, a line, a hose or master cylinder. just changing pads won,t let any air in the lines.
- Q: Can anyone answer these ?sWhat is the top speed of an F1 car/top speed of a drag car? What is the main purpose of the wings on an f1 car? What is the main purpose of the wings ion a plane?Between the car and the plane which wing creates lift which one creates down force?Which shape would be best for our application of a CO2 car? What kind of surface does an F1 car have Why?What are some requirements for car livery? (decals, team logos etc?)
- My son is now 19 months and for the most part he sleeps all night. But usually when he wakes up wanting to play, daddy is just getting home from work. So daddy will get him out and let him play for about 30 minutes then makes him go back to sleep. He only wakes up like this when daddy has to work late, t is really strange how he knows. Anyways, maybe just let him get up, but you have to interact with him. Ware him out again. Hopefully this helps you. We also let our son cry, usually he will only cry for 5 minutes or so then play by hisself in his bed then fall back asleep. He too sleeps about 12 hours a night. Seriously, if you want your child to go to bed at 10 or 11, then thats fine. The only reason my son goes to bed at 9 is because I have to get up early for work. If I didn't have to go to bed, I would let him stay up longer so he would sleep longer in the day for me. Don't let other people tell you when to put your child to sleep. It isn't any of their business.
- Q: I‘m probably not going to get a car , witch if i do / don‘t it doesn‘t matter i‘ll just work and get a good enough car to go to work amp; back but did you get a car at 16 [No bragging comments] ?
- I bought my first car when I was 15. It was a 2004 Chevy TrailBlazer with a bad transmission and 225,000 miles. I paid $600 for it and have spent thousands making it nice. Now almost 2 years later with 238,000 it is lifted 3 inches, has 32 mud terrain tires on 17 wheels, a really aggressive engine tune, a killer stereo system, upgraded brakes, various maintnence and repairs, etc. I think I have roughly $3,000 in it. I just bought my 2nd car, a 1971 Ford Mustang convertible in need of a restoration. Bright red white white top and interior. Gorgeous muscle car with so much style and soul. The first car I had was a 84 Bronco when I was 12. That#x27;s how I learned how to drive. So I currently have 2 beautiful cars. I#x27;m not bragging, but I take a lot of pride in what I have because I work hard and pay for both of them myself (insurance, gas, maintaining, and repairs). I work 40 hours a week and go to school so I can have some money and buy what I want.
- Q: A lifted truck or a modern muscle car?
- Modern Muscle car. More comfortable ride with handling and braking to match. And modern muscle cars get a lot better gas mileage. The only downside is slightly higher insurance costs. I used to drive muscle cars in the 1960's and the newer ones are far superior in every respect. Lifted trucks don't handle or brake worth a damn and they can't carry their rated load or be used for what they were intended for. They are just a useless gas guzzling urban toy. Leave the trucks where they belong and are appreciated. In the hands of tradesmen and farmers. They at least know how to use truck. And it's not to decorate their driveways.
- Q: Hey guys, im working on my extremely amateur rally car and am wondering if lift blocks are an option,, i want to get about 2 inches, and im wondering how these work and if they work on anything but 4x4s? i know its not a good idea to do things "cheaply" but at the moment that is my only option and the cars not worth investing thousands into, thanks.
- Lift blocks go inbetween the leaf springs and the axles on trucks, not always the best choice anyways since they allow twisting of the axle against the U-joint and the driveshaft. I doubt you have leaf springs on your car. You should have 4 wheel independent suspension using coilovers. what that means is that you have a shock inside a large spring that controls the ride of your vehicle. There are aftermarket coil-over spacers out there, just dont go too cheap and do the hockey-puck trick, its not safe. If you decide to go with coilover spacers, you should expect a rougher/stiffer ride becuase the spring will be more compressed, and that can lead to sudden loss of control while driving over larger bumps/holes. If your goal is higher off the ground, then i would highly recommend just installing larger tires, and if you dont want to invest alot of money into the car this is your best choice. 20 min with a saws-all and a hammer in your wheel wells can provide the ability to go up 1 or 2 diameter tire sizes Without knowing the year/make/model this is the best advice i can give you.
- Q: if you dont know what you're talking about please don't answer
- Yes. Due to the shape of most cars, lift is created due to the airfoil affect. Air travels over the top of a car faster than underneath creating a low pressure area at the top, pushing the car up. This is the same phenomena that makes an airplane wing work. As speed increases, lift increases. Performance cars and racers become unstable when this happens so they have specially designed wings, air dams, etc. to create counteracting downward force and reduce the amount of air which flows underneath the vehicle.
