Q: This will be my first car. I can spend 15000 on car and i want luxury. I need the quattro since i live in upstate ny
For 15k, I could get a built 454 and a nice Muscle car of lifted truck.
Q: I have no idea what any of this means and my friends are trying to find an answer i cant find and they know i know nothing about cars any one willing to help Thanks
Dis connect the vacuum advance from the engine. Now use a Vacman gauge and set the timing to the highest number you can hold on the gauge. Car runs. Lift of cam, compression, heads etc have very little to do with timing.
Q: My goal is to a able to dead lift a car.
Nothing made in like the last 15 years !! 'Bumpers' any more are pieces of structural PLASTIC behind a bumper cover made of urethane - No guts what so ever. You'd have to go back to a car with a steel bumper, I'd still be very careful. So, look at the jacking instructions that come with the car. IF the jacking instructions use a bumper mount for the jack, you're good to go. IF the jack goes under the body to get a solid lift point, skip that one.
Q: The car weighted a ton; they could not lift it.
The car weighed a ton; they could not lift it. Past form of weigh is weighed.
Q: How many mechanic shops/mechanic car lifts are there in the United States? How many drop lights are sold in the U.S.?
Why, are you a salesman that wants someone to do homework for them? Besides , who really cares?. I will do it for you when you tell me how many backyard swimming pools are in the US. Oh and how many have a slide.
Q: about how much will it cost or will i even have to get it lifted? i have a 2001 cadillac deville
22s on a 2001 cadillac deville will fit without even having it lifted. but anything bigger you will definitely need a lift
Q: The car lift in a gas station operates with an air pressure of 2000 kPa. The piston of the car lift has a diameter of 30 cm. What is the mass of the largest car that the lift can raise??please help, thanks
pressure, PForce/AreaF/A therefore weight force of car, FAP P2000 kPa2000000 Pa 2000000 N/m^2 Api r^2pi (.15 )^20.0707 m^2 (N.B. 15cm.15m) therefore weight of car, FAP141390 N
Q: The input piston and output plunger of a hydraulic car lift are at the same level, as shown in the drawing. The cross-sectional area of the input piston is 12 cm2, while that of the output plunger is 1200 cm2. The force F1 applied to the input piston has a magnitude of 140 N. What is the weight W of the car? Neglect the weight of the piston and plunger. Give your answer to two significant figures, e.g., 640 N.
Since the pistons have an area ratio of 1:100 then a force of 140 Nt will on the small piston will lift 14000 Nt on the large piston. Of course it will only lift it 1/100th as far as you push the small piston.
Q: I was recently driving on a road in the mountains and hit a patch of black ice. My car slid and went into a shallow ditch maybe two feet deep at the most. My car had a tree branch tangled somewhat in the front wheels. I pulled the tree branch away and with some maneuvering was able to get the car out of the ditch. I noticed at first some squeaking, which went away as I drove. I notice now that when my car goes over 40 mph I feel a really bad vibration coming from the front end, you can feel it through the steering wheel, what feels like the wheels or suspension or something. Nothing looks bad to the naked eye as the car really took no significant exterior damage. Yet I feel something is not right. What do you think it would be?, and will this be an easy fix for a mechanic?
It could be one of many things depending on the year, make and model It would be best to have your local mechanic put the vehicle on a car lift and check the undercarriage as well as the suspension, wheels and tires
