- Q: My diningroom and livingroom are together so I've painted them a nice yellow...and my trim is wood most of my furniture is oak and I have wood flooring, what color rug would fit perfect with my living-dining area?? And any suggestions on where I can find a good price for one?
- I have a very similar design with white oak floors, clear fir trim, and chamois walls. I chose a heavy herringbone seagrass rug with a wide border closely matched to the seagrass colors. The rug has been down for over a year, and has held up very well. My 2 year old lab has slobbed on it with his tennis ball, and thrown-up on it a few times during his experimental food stage. I was able to clean the mess up quickly, and it didn't stain. The colors are green to brown and seem to blend in real well with the yellowy chamois color.
- Q: does anyone have this carpet cleaner? I saw some good reviews on this and it is in my price range. But in the reviews it didn't say much about cleaning up pee stains. I need need this carpet cleaner to specifically clean my dogs pee stains. If you don't know about this carpet cleaner any other suggestions on another carpet cleaner?
- Cleaning up pee isn't much different than soda pop or orange juice, etc. It's a matter of steaming to release, then a wetvac extracts the substance and steam. Repeated passes will increase the effect. If you have stains in the carpet, the pad underneath may be compromised, in which case no steamer will get all the ammonia out. Best thing to do in that case is to have the pad replaced. If that's not feasible, at least find the enzyme treatment which helps break down ammonia -- usually it's at the vac rental area of the store.
- Q: My carpet was just cleaned and is already dirty...it shows everything! I don't want to have to get down on my hands and knees to spot clean (the entire carpet constantly needs cleaning!) and I cant afford to pay a carpet cleaner every week. Is there like a carpet shampooing/cleaning machine you can buy for around 100 dollars or ANYTHING I can do? Thanks!
- You could rent a 'rug doctor' carpet cleaning machine. The walmarts in my neighborhood have them. They are like $20 to rent for 24hours. I've heard that they work very well.

- Washing your rug can be perfect , but in removing tough stains why not use white vinegar , this will remove stain effectively, afterward sprinkle amount of baking soda to remove bad smell, and then vacuum it.

- Regardless of the carpet material, if the carpet pad you choose is not hypoallergenic as well, the possibility of allergens persists. Choose a carpet pad that has moisture resistance, giving it anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties. If you are gluing the carpet to the floor, choose adhesives with low VOC emissions.

- How much did you spill? If the above with nail polish remover does not work. You can change that piece of carpet by cutting out a small square around the stain and replace it with another piece of the same carpet from an area that can’t be seen eg under furniture. You have to glue both pieces in making shore the pile of carpet is going the same way and if there is a pattern you have to cut the replacing piece in same place in patter as the stain. Once its glued twist and brush pile around edge into the existing carpet pile so the joints are not visible.
- Q: I want the Rambo turnout lite in a 5ft or a 5ft 3, but whenever I contact an intenet seller about this, they say that Rambo rugs only go down to a 5ft 6. Is this true? If so, it is very stupid. Especially as Rambo rugs are such a large fit. My horse is meant to be a size 5ft 9, but he's wearing the Rambo lite in a size 5ft 9 right now and it is hanging off him, I measured it and it's 9 inches too long.
- don't get a rambo rug then :) they obviously don't have the size for your horse. some brands don't e.g. they have only small sizes for ponies and some will have only large sizes for horses. rambo isn't the only brand of rug out there, and it's not the best either (in my opinion)

- I wash the rugs on the regular cycle by themselves. Because of the rubber backing don't put them in the dryer. Lay them out somewhere. (You could put them in the dryer without any heat - fluff air or whatever your dryer calls it - but I find without heat not much drying takes place anyway, and the rugs get a little extra beating up that they don't if you lay them out to dry.) I wash the shower curtain by itself on gentle (if necessary). This, too, shouldn't go in the dryer because most curtains have that vinyl strip across the top where the rings go through. In answer to your question, though, can you wash everything together? Sure. You could if you had to. Most people don't.
