Q: problem seems like a bad IAC valve - When I start it, it runs at 2000 for 10 sec then starts varying between 1000 2000 rpm at idle. Over 2400 it is level. If I pull the connector it will vary quickly around 1500 rpm as soon as it is started. Cold or hot no difference. 10 sec delay will happen every time it is started.I just replaced the air cleaner and cleaned the PCV valve, which seems to work about the same as a new one, then this started. Coincidence or something else wrong - like an air leak? How can I be sure it is the IAC??I've pulled the air intake and plugged the bottom throttle port and it goes to idle. the only trouble code is 0505 unless of course I pull the connector. Pulling the throttle position sensor plug yields a constant 2000 rpm and an code indicating it is open.thanks.
yup sounds like the iac valve,or quite possible that your low on coolant,it requires coolant as a media to transmit signal to ecu, coolant also runs through the valve, check coolant first, they tend to leak at the bypass gasket between cyl head, the housing behind where egr mounts, good luck
Q: The valve on my mountain bike tire has a leak, so I want to go buy a new valve (and maybe a couple spares)... how much is the average cost? Thanks!
It depends on whether you have a presta or schraeder valve. If a schraeder valve, you can buy a bag of them with a remover from an auto parts store for about $3.00 or so. If a presta valve, most of those cannot be replaced so it is new tube time. Are you sure it is a valve? Many times a puncture in the tube will leak through the valve hole AROUND the valve making it seem like a valve.
Q: Our water heater (bought in 2007 so still fairly new still under warranty luckily) seems to release water from the pressure release valve quite frequently. Everyone seems to say that it shouldn't do it often and ours probably does it a couple times per day. 2 main questions - 1. Is there really a risk of too much pressure building up and the water heater exploding (that's what the sales guy at Lowe's said) and 2. Any idea what the problem might be/what we should check out?
I doubt that there is any chance of the water heater exploding since the safety valve is leaking. Have you checked the water temperature settings? After no hot water has been used for a while, run some hot water and check the temperature. If it is near boiling, the you need to check the settings. It could be just a faulty relief valve which leaks when the water surges. When there is high water flow that stops suddenly the water pressure will surge for a very short time. Try opening the bath tub faucets fully and then shut them off quickly while some one watched the heater to see if it leaks. I hope this helps.
Q: My vehicle has 160,000 miles and has burned 2 quarts of oil at 3000 miles. Someone told me to change the PCV valve because sometimes a bad PCV valve can cause oil consumption. I appreciate your assistance.

Q: Hello,I've not found a perfect fit using a solenoid valve for gravity fed irrigation system. Primarily because it requires a constant drain on the battery while the valve is open. Is there a motorized valve to fit the bill? One that momentarily requires electricity to open and close the valve at 12v DC or less to work in gravity fed system?
should not be any issue finding on your plumbing features. do only not forget approximately to deactivate and cap the line coming from the front. it is basic to apply that line with the two between the valves finding on the place you chop back and cap it.
Q: I'm drawing a complete diagram of the heart, but I'm unsure of the positions of the different valves. I know there are the pulmoary valve, the aortic valve, tricuspid/right AV, bicuspid/left AV, semilunar valves, mitral...but I know there are several names for some of them, like I think the mitral and the bicuspid are the same...but there are so many sources online I don't know which to believe. If anyone knows for absolute sure the right names and where they are it would be very appreciated if you could help :)
well right= Tricuspid valve left=Mitral valve good luck
Q: wife died at 40 still awaiting results of exsaminers report. Can CPR be given to some one with two artificial heart valves mitral and arotic? She the person administering CPR be aware that they are in the heart...
Yes, and it doesn't matter if there are artificial valves or not. The thing about CPR is that it's only done for someone who is actively trying to die. The alternative to doing CPR is to let someone pass away, which is not usually the best course of action (unless they have a terminal disease and have asked not to be resuscitated.) If you are asking whether the presence of heart valves excuses someone from NOT doing CPR... then no. If you are asking whether heart valves + CPR and a bad outcome is because CPR should not have been done, then no to that too. The right thing to do for someone who is pulseless is to start CPR, call 911 and get more definitive treatment on the way. CPR is not going to revive someone - it is only a bridge until a defibrillator and/or cardiac drugs are available. I'm sorry that you lost your wife at such a young age, and I hope you find the answers you are looking for.
Q: I've been working on cars since around march of 2012. I new. I have a set of 305 heads that were really dirty. It came from a 79 camaro that never had an Oil change. I took the valves out and the valves are pretty burnt. I was wondering If I cleaned them up would they still be good to use? The edges aren't rough or anything. Just let me know what is need to know please. The heads I know are still good.
People reuse valves all the time, just need to inspect them for straightness, keep them in the same locations in the heads and relapping them is a great idea also.
Q: where on the motor is the valves location
The idle air control valve can be found under the throttle body. In order to get to it: 1. Disconnect negative battery cable. 2. Remove air intake from throttle body. 3. Disconnect throttle body cable. 4. Disconnect sensor connectors from IAC valve, and throttle position sensor. 5. Remove 4 bolts from throttle body using 10mm socket wrench. 6. Take throttle body, turn bottom side up, remove 4 mounting screws from IAC Once you do that you have removed the IAC. Reverse the steps to put it back on starting at number 6 and working your way back to number one How do you replace an air idle control valve? Replacing an idle control valve can be a daunting task. For your specific application, we recommend to ask in our car forum for advice. Here we will describe the basic process for replacing your idle control valve. Please note that for different cars and trucks the process will not be the same. Steps to replace your idle control valve You will want to begin by first gaining access to the idle control valve. In order to do this you will need to remove the air filter assembly, along with the air mass sensor and the air mass meter boot. Once you remove this whole assembly, you should have easy access to the throttle body. Remove the four bolts that secure the throttle body to the intake manifold. Usually on the bottom of the throttle body, on fuel injected cars, there is a idle control valve. To remove the old valve, simply unscrew or unbolt it. Bolt on the new valve, and reinstall everything. Make sure you replace your throttle body gasket at this time.
Q: This trumpet has been in storage in its casing untouched for about 5 years. I took it out and tried to play it but only air comes out and no sound. The 2nd and 3rd valves are hard to push down. What do I do to fix it? Thanks!
Dis is a pretty common problem. The valves are in the wrong valve case or they are turned aound in the case. Take each valve out and check the number...... most have a number stamped near the top, or on the part around the spring. Get them in the right place with the notch in the case matching the little peg on the side of the valve and all should be well. By the way, if you can't get a buzz on the mouthpiece the whole problem is you alone.
