Q: what are the best aorta heart valves. mech. or animal.
Depending on the valve, the original valve may be able to be repaired. This procedure has only been widely used 8-10 years probably. Originally it was believed that these like animal (pig or cow) would probably only last around 10 years but it is constantly being adapted so longer may be possible. Animal valves do not require blood thinners, although many people I know have ended up on thinners because of other problems. The other advantage is that they are quiet. Mechanical valves, often called metal aren't always truly metal. Older valves were thus a scan using an MRI was not possible. Mine was put in during 1995 and is called metal but does not cause any problem with an MRI and I know others from that time frame also with no problem. I expect it to last my whole lifetime and I never needed any anti-reject meds and few people I know have. I do tick like an old watch especially when I get winded or tired, but over the 13 years I've had it only one person outside of medical professionals examining me have ever noticed. It doesn't keep me awake but I do know some people who notice theirs, but the newer the quieter. I do have to take blood thinners, but for me and most of those I know don't have major problems maintaining a therapeutic level. You have to have a blood test routinely to know but they now have a finger prick machine so it is quick and easy. I only know of one person whose body rejected valves and had to have it removed and animal placed in. From those I know usually children they will do tissue just because a child won't be as careful and watchful of bleeding. Otherwise it is choice based on years wanted from the valve and lifestyle if meds fit and eating habits.
Q: Which is worse ? And what causes it? I was told I had mitro valve prolapse but I m symptoms had worsen and so I saw a cardiologist again today and they said I have mitro valve regeritation.
Mitral valve regurgitation — also called mitral regurgitation, mitral insufficiency or mitral incompetence — is a condition in which your heart's mitral valve doesn't close tightly, allowing blood to flow backward in your heart. As a result, blood can't move through your heart or to the rest of your body as efficiently, making you feel tired or out of breath. The mitral valve controls blood flow between the upper and lower chambers of the left side of the heart. The upper chamber is called the left atrium. The lower chamber is called the left ventricle. The mitral valve allows blood to flow from the left atrium into the left ventricle, but not back the other way. The heart also has a right atrium and ventricle, separated by the tricuspid valve. With each heartbeat, the atria contract and push blood into the ventricles. The flaps of the mitral and tricuspid valves open to let blood through. Then, the ventricles contract to pump the blood out of the heart. When the ventricles contract, the flaps of the mitral and tricuspid valves close. They form a tight seal that prevents blood from flowing back into the atria. Mitral valve prolapse (MVP) is a condition in which the heart’s mitral valve doesn’t work well. The flaps of the valve are “floppy” and may not close tightly. These flaps normally help seal or open the valve. From what i have read neither is better or worse and may require surgery to repair or replace the Mitral valve.
Q: My 91 GMC Van has an Idle Control Valve that is unplugged, but the van still runs great. Will the valve being unplugged, result in harm to my vehicle?
Won't hurt a thing.
Q: Is this possible? The valve is way too big to fit the rim. Is there a special inner tube for this rim? Thanks in advance.
Your rim is drilled for Presta valves, and the inner tubes you are trying to use have Schrader valves. Either buy the correct inner tube or drill the hole larger to accommodate the larger valve
Q: I threw a birthday party last night, all went well until 2am when a crazy (drunk!) lady cut all the wires from my heating system (i guess as a prank??? dunno, she is never invited back). I have everything up and running when using one thermostat and connecting the thermostat wires (red directly to tv, Brown directly to W, and white directly to T) and not using the two Honeywell zone valves (model number V8043F. How do I connect those two zone valves to the L8148E aquastat? The valves have on bottom Th-TR, TH and TR and the two top screws are labeled end switch. If you need photos I can take them :)Thanks in advance!

Q: i have a mitsubishi eclipse 1993 and its running too lean my old smog paper said the hc's (hydrocarbons) are too high. would a egr valve temp sensor make it do that if its fualty? or could it be someting else?
To man Hcs means you car is running Rich not Lean but yes an EGR can cause that an egr takes the exaust gasses and recirculates it back into the manifold soo if your lettn a few hcs outta the exhaust valve then the erg would recirculate it but there is plenty of other reasons for your car to runn to rich
Q: Is there a product that can fit over a foot valve to give it further protection in muddy water? I am looking for something for forest firefighting in mind. Something like a screen box something else that can give it further protection. It would be nice if it was small, and compact. Pictures would definitely be an asset. Thanks to everyone that answers. Greatly appreciated.
most foot valves i have bought come with a strainer attached perhaps you should look for that type. if your valve has a strainer you may consider making a further coarse strainer out of a ball of chicken wire and place this over the foot valve assembly(thats what i do for the cold water supply to my house) don't compress the chicken wire very small as it will block up i tie the wire filter on with galvanized wire then i can easily replace it if necessary ps i tried stainless steel pot scourers but they were to fine and blocked easily
Q: I'm a 68 year old male. i've had mitral valve regurgitation all my life . recently an echocardiogram listed it as 3 plus. I'm in otherwise good health and continue to jog 3 miles three times a week at about a 9 minute mile rate. Is surgery advised.
Have you asked your Cardiologist this question as well as your Primary? I do not know what the reading indicates...sorry!
Q: what exactly causes a valve to stretch?
All metal bend and even wear down. Valves don't stretch. They wear down. Good Luck...
Q: hi i just found out i have micro valve i and have allmost 30 years with willam sydrome any doctors know more what can happen what dose walking or others got to do with the valve will i stand for a longtime walk jump will one side get weeker then the other what about my hands and eyes my knees what will happend over the years when i get older ?
I have a mitral valve prolapse. Don't know if this is what you meant or not, but it can lie dormant for a long time. I thought I was hvaing a heart attack!!
