- Q: I'm lost i cant find a hole in my ford c-max firewall to install my power cable for amp can someone help me as i am traveling this sat to France by car .
- In most vehicles there are spare holes filled with rubber plugs. Pop one out with a screwdriver and make a hole in plug a little smaller than the size of the wire for a very tight fit. If it's a smaller size power wire, it can sometimes be run through the same grommet as the vehicles main harness. Be very careful not hurt the existing wire. I have seen people get careless and screw the harness up and it's not easy or cheap to fix. When doing this I usually use a stiff wire (a small diameter yet long screwdriver can work too) and slide it through the grommet. I then use electrical tape to secure the power wire to stiff wire and pull it through. Make sure your penetration point is still leak proof after doing this. You may need to use some silicone and or electrical tape to seal it up.

- It would have to be a combination of things that made it fray. Like, for example, being bent at an extreme angle while in use for long periods of time. Power cables get hot from normal use. The plastic insulation gets soft. If the power cable is laid in a comfortable position, if it is allowed to cool before being wrapped up, and there are no problems with the power adapter port on the laptop, a power adapter cable will last for the life of the laptop. Now, if you are using a Universal power brick, that is part of your problem. This laptop only requires a 65 watt adapter. Universal power adapters will push more juice to your laptop... up to 90 watts. This will cause the cables to get hotter. So, if you have not replaced it with a 19 volt 3.42amp brick specifically designed to work with your laptop... then you should do so. And feel free to buy one off OKorder. Same brick as what you get from Toshiba, for a fraction of the cost. end of line

- you can do this 2 ways have a 1/0 gauge wire running from your battery to a distrubtuin block that can branch off into 2 more wires, 4 gauge or 6/8.. and have each wire running to an amp or the same exact thing, except with a 4g wire from the battery to a splitter dist. block running into 2 8g wires.. but i would go with the first way.. will allow better power flow and not have to pull as much from the electrical system... and make sure the in-line fuse is the same rating of all amp fuses together.. so say each amp is a 30a fuse in each make sure the in-line fuse is at least 60amps
