Q: how to connect the wiring from car stereo to amplifier: good quality audio rca cables is enough. avoid the cheapest and most expensive. on my home stereo system I have $100 cables for my headphones and record player (vinyl). but that's warranted, I think. Honestly most people cannot tell the difference on car audio.

Q: let me start off with I am not an electrician I just do basic stuff for side work I came in the project at the end. The lady wanted me to wire in 6 receptacles, a light switch and light fixture all on one circuit. everything is good except for the receptacle at the start of the circuit it has the lead/ hot coming in the power to the other receptacles going out and the power to the light going out (3 groups, 9 wires total). normally I would have used a junction box but I didn't pull the wire. How can I wire this. Would a 15 amp receptacle work?: A 15 Amp receptacle will work, of course, but the receptacle box is most likely already overfilled. So in order to keep the wire count down, your best way to go is to buy a receptacle that uses screw down connector tabs. (NOT the kind that you have to put the wire under the screw, but the kind that you insert the wire into the back and then turn the screw down to clamp onto it!) The receptacle is a little more money but it would be worth the expense to make this hook up work. Hot wire (Black): Connect all three black wires to the back of the receptacle on the brass colored screws. Common wire (White): Connect all three white wires to the back of the receptacle on the silver colored screw. Ground: make a short pigtail of bare copper wire (about 6 or 7 inches long). Then connect the pigtail to the other 3 bare copper ground wires using a wire nut. Then connect the other end of the pigtail to the grounding connection of the receptacle. MAKE SURE THE POWER IS OFF WHEN YOU DO ALL OF THIS SO THAT YOU CAN LIVE TO TELL THE TALE! :-)

Check the manual to see which connections you need for your situation. If it can turn on your heater (and air conditioner if you have one), then it is connected properly.

Q: I no longer have enough 0 gauge wire would it be bad to use 0 gauge power wire to the amp and 4 gauge wire to ground the amp?: all okorder /... or going into your audio dealer store asking for 3 to 5 ft of the 0 gauge wire for around 15 to 20 dollars at the max. you can also asking your friends for if the person has some extra wire willing to sale it for cheap, I totally would do it, and I have done that before.

Q: What are those strange ball-like things that are on some electric/telephone wires? I think they're on electric wires. I've always wondered.: If they're what I think you're talking about, they are usually orange or red and are used to show aircraft pilots that there is a wire, ... creating a dangerous condition. They usually put these on electrical wires where crop duster airplanes dust fields, or on wires at the end of airport runways. Otherwise the wires would be invisible to the pilot and could cause a crash if hit.

Q: im hooking a amp up and i need to run my remote wire to my ignition wire: I have wired up alot of amps and the remote wire on the amp should be connected to the power antenna/amp turn on wire on the stereo head unit. This allows the amp to only turn on when the stereo is on. If you are connecting an amp to a factory stereo,I see why you would need to find an ignition wire. You need to probe the fuse panel with a 12 volt test light to find a circuit that only comes on with the key. Usually there is a spare accessory fuse location just for this. Buy a fuse tap or specialty fuse from a auto parts store to connect your remote wire to. There is very little current draw to turn on the amp,so almost any circuit on the fuse panel will work if it is only on with the key.

Q: putting new plug on wire. which wire connectswhere?: If the cord has three wires, black to the brass screw, white to the silver screw, and green to the green screw. If the cord has just black and white, ditto, except use a two-prong replacement plug, no green. If the cord is flat - no colors, just two wires side-by-side - the smooth side to the brass screw, the ribbed side to the silver screw.
