Q: i have a 1989 Nissan 240sx and im trying to install an aftermarket Pioneer radio (DEH-P20), my car only has 2 speaker which are in the front right and left side doors, i've gotten many wiring diagrams to help me install it and im pretty sure i have connected the wires correctly. the only problem is that after i got done connecting it, the radio wont power on.. if theres a defective power wire, what can i do to fix it? and also, where EXACTLY do i connect the Ground wire? oh and why does the car wires have multiple same colors for example, theres like 3 light blue wires non striped from the car, etc.?thank you: 240sx Antenna

Q: can a positive wire connect a negative and positive terminal together, or can a negative wire connect a positive and negative terminal together? This is regard to speakers in a guitar speaker cabinet. using rca speaker wire which is two wires that can be separated. One is positive and the other negative. If you are only using one half of the wire to wire two speakers in series does it matter if it is the positive(the side with the white stripe) or negative one since wiring in series is positive terminal to negative terminal.: Wire is wire. There is no positive wire and no negative wire. The wires are colour coded so you can keep track of what connects to what. You can use orange and green wires if you want; just keep track of what you are connecting.

Q: I have DirectWay and have a wireless router. I recently hardwired my computer in because I kept losing signal. The distance between my computer and the router is about 30 ft. But since I hardwired my computer in, it seems slower than when I ran the wireless adapter, i.e downloading videos and music. I was under the impression that wired was faster. What gives????: Wired is more reliable and realistically faster in most cases.

Q: Looking for legit (good) speaker wire?or does it depend? are all speaker wire good?the speaker wires are for car audio: the thicker or lower the number the better electrical transfer. 16-20 gauge is ok for close speaker mounting, 12-14 gauge is better etc. if running a high output system go with lower numbers.

Q: how do i wire a dual 2 ohm sub to an amp at 2 ohm: actually tc your almost right. yes 1 and 4 are the ohm loads of the speaker itself. but if your talking mono thats all you can achieve. on 2 channel amps when you bridge them your talking ohm drop again. so if you have one dvc 2 ohm wired in series and then bridged to the amp your looking at a 2 ohm load

Q: Quick question with hopefully an easy answer. I had a dimmer switch go bad on a light in a dining room. I bought a new switch and put it in. It was working fine, so I thought, then I noticed that when the dining room light is off, the dimmer works on everything else on the circuit, for example outside lights, hall lights, etc. I can dim all of those things when this switch certainly didn't do that before. Also, if the dining room light is on, all of the other things on the circuit I mentioned before do not work at all. I've obviously incorrectly wired the switch somehow, any thoughts on what I did incorrectly and how to fix?: Not sure how to answer this. You only had to remove and reinstall 2 wires from the old to the new switch. You obviously disconnected more wires than needed and screwed it up. No way to tell you what you did wrong without actually being there and sorting out your mess. Sorry , now you need a pro, or you have to go thru it one by one until you find the original wire going to the light, then reconnect everything else the way it was. maybe getting an electrician or someone that knows what they are doing may prevent a wire fire in your walls as you obviously do not know enough about wiring to fix it yourself

Q: have black (hot) and 2 whites from the house. Got Black,green.blue.and white from the fan. Any clues on how to wire this? There is a light switch involved. I know to match the colors but what do with the blue (light) wire is beyond me.: Mark is Correct except for one thing that caught my attention: you said you have 2 White Wires and 1 Black Wire coming from the house.....WHY 2 White Wires and only 1 Black, Doesn't add up Correctly, unless one of those White Wires was marked with a piece of Black Tape to identify it as a second Hot Wire which would then be used to separate the Fan Motor from the Fan Light by each having its own separate power source.......Be Careful!!

Q: can anyone please tell me what does hook-up wire mean and how does it differ from other kinds of wires such as light duty and heavy duty?Also,which one should I use for breadboards?: Hookup wire is a term usually reserved for wire sizes smaller than 16 AWG, usually single strand conductor. It is generally used in applications where current-carrying capacity is not of prime importance. Breadboarding is one of these applications, but usually uses 22AWG or smaller wire.

Q: Need to know what colors are for what and the function of each wire.: You can get the harness at WalMart or Best Buy. It connects to the aftermarket radio and then just plugs right in to the vehicles harness.....unless you already hacked it off. The thing only cost about $15.00 and makes the installation process a breeze.
