Q:How can it be possible to create a high voltage and have a small gauge wire? Q:I'm trying to use a stereo wire instead of a mono wire for an output from a circuit I've built. The problem is, the gold wire has been cut too short, and I'd rather not strip it back any further since I don't have a lot of cord to work with. Since there are three wires (red, white, gold - ground) can I use either the red or the white as output, and the remaining color for ground, or do I have to use the gold cable for the ground and let the remaining wire dangle (taped)?Thanks: They're just wires - you can do what you want with them. You run the risk of forgetting that you've ignored the colour coding though!

Q:I am making a lamp shade that calls for bonsai wire. How is bonsai wire different from regular wire and what would be a good substitute for it????: Aluminum or copper are the best choices. Avoid iron or steel as they can react with the sap and harm the tree, especially a juniper. bonsai is a copper coated aluminum. Aluminum is more mallable, copper is stronger, with strength you can go thinner, but thin is harder on the tree.

Q:But when I look closely (you can't see it in the picture unfortunately) there are some tiny wisps of the coiled copper wire that looks as if it could have been connected to the pulled wire. I'm not sure.How do I connect the wires to make the headsets work again?If you guys need more pictures, please tell me.Thanks in advance!: don't be afraid to cut the wires, those wires are no good, strip out a fresh strand of wire, just make sure you remember the color coding of the contacts before you cut the wires, be warned though, working with earphone wires can be tricky, the solder is very hard to bind on the tips of the wires and the fibers are a pain, if you know how to solder then that's fine, but if you don't ask help from someone who can

Q:Okay so bought 2 Kicker Comp C12-8 subs they are single voice coil, and I bought the Kicker DX300.2 amp. I would like to parallel wire thes subs to have a 4 ohm load, But I don't totally get the concept of it. Could somebody explain it, or show me a diagram, or video, or something?: Parallel is simple. Connect positives to positives and negatives to negatives. Series wiring is the opposite.

Q:What do you use to seal up the hole in the OUTSIDE wall where the cable TV and telephone wires and electrical wires all go thru? I want to replace my telephone wire coming in to the house, because I have DSL and it is really slow. Use only the amount of wire you need... don't leave like 50 feet coiled up under the floor, or behind the wall, hehehe. I use silicone to seal the holes. You can buy it in a small tube at places like Radio Shack, or WalMart. Basically anyplace that sells antenna cables will have these small tubes nearby the wiring. (its the same stuff that you weather seal around outside windows with, but in a smaller tube. If you are going to caulk your windows, you can just use that) Have Fun

Q:running wire to a pool motor, it is 1.5 hp, they pulled 10 guage wire and the breaker keeps tripping , do I need heavier wire?: Depending on the distance, heavier wire might help. It's possible that there is too much voltage drop in the wire during motor starting. That would lead to heavy startup currents being drawn for longer periods.
