Q: I just bought a wool area rug (2' x 3'). It doesn't look good where I wanted to put it. Could I put it in a small powder room? Also, would it look good to use a large wool area rug over burbur carpet?: Yes, you could put it in a powder room or use it for an entryway door. I used a persian rug over my berber rug under a coffee table to add more color to the room. They put oriental rugs over carpet all the time. It looks good too.

Q: I am just wondering in the 30's 40'5 and 50's how they cleaned carpets in there house. I know at some point the vacuum cleaner was invented but for actual carpet cleaning (with a carpet cleaner) how did they clean the carpet. I am not talking about spot cleaning either but all over carpet cleanings. Thankss: They used brush as a carpet cleaner. I saw it once in the movie I forgot the tittle it was an epic movie. It is like a dog brush but the strands are different than the normal brush.

Ask them for plastic to go over carpet that will stick and stay there. Not temp stuff for walking, either. Also look at Office depot and such. The things that you put on carpet for chairs to roll on might be a great idea. Also, you may wanna get a cat scratch post to put by the door?

Q: My carpet is very stained and is supposed to be tan but because i have three kids and a dog who spill everything they can on it, its now multi colored and i have tried almost every carpet cleaner there is to try and get it clean. Ive used every resolve product, oxyclean, baking soda, and a lot of white vinegar and nothing works! Ive searched in resolved questions about this and got a lot of mixed answers. Some said they did it and it worked great then others said it can make them even worse by making the glue in the carpet fibers come apart. We live in post housing and i already know we are going to have to have the carpet replaced when we leave but that's not for another year or two. Im so embarrassed by it that i don't even like to have our friends over. I would like to know if anybody has bleached their carpets to make them white and if they have did the fibers in the carpets unravel weeks or months later??? Or did everything go okay and the carpets look better???: never never bleach your carpet! Hie a professonal carpet cleaner. or steamer. Try Stanely carpet steamer if you want, i think it is a good company. they are in Chicagoarea.

Q: i am doing an equine course and one of the papers is on stabling and the question is asking to quot;explain two reasons why a horse would be rugged if it was spending the night in a stablequot; in the course book it dose not have anything on this and all the books i have read don't explain it ether. lots of help appreciated: As an owner of gray horses, I can say that when I have them stabled, they get dirty much faster (overnight) so I would put a light sheet/rug on while stabled in an attempt to keep at least some part of their body clean. Our barn was quite cold in the winter, even with the doors shut and horses in. The horses that were show horses and under lights, needed to be rugged to be warm. The boarded horses had lighter blankets, but still needed to be covered in some manner. some people feel that keeping a horse warmly covered all winter will decrease the amount of hair grown. Studies do not support this, but the number of hours of bright light does indeed inhibit the growth of the winter hair coat.

Q: Would a K?rcher pressure washer clean a rug as successfully as it cleans a flagstone?: Maybe, if it's a cheap rug that can take the abuse of the water pressure you take it outside so that the gallons gallons of water you end up using don't end up in the house, but it's kind of overkill I honestly wouldn't do it if you care about the rug's lifespan.

If you bought the rug in a reputated store, with a little personal discount the price you paid is okay. If you bought the rug in the souq without bargin for 50% less then you paid to much. Take the rug to a professional and get an opinion. Btw: prices of handvooven rugs go also by how many knots the square meter. Why didn't you place this question under: Egypt? You definetley have not been to Saudi Arabia. And prices of a prayer rug do not depent on you religon and you nationality either. Take care
