- Q: I just dropped a candle on my light colored carpet and red candle wax is everywhere. Any ideas on how to remove it?
- Place ice-cubes on the wax until the ice starts to melt then scrape away as much wax as possible with a blunt knife, then lay sheets of paper towel over the wax.Using a cool iron go over the area.If a greasy mark remains rub with a little tea tree oil. I would try it on a small section first as this is used on material so am not sure it will work on carpet.
- Q: I steam clean my carpet twice a year but lately because of a sick pet it is more often. No matter if I do it myself or have a professional do it, I see dark brown water. It has never been clear. How many times do I go over the carpet to get the clean water. Is this all dirt? Or is it color from the carpet and pad. It drives me nuts. - its because of wear and tear on the carpet / the padding / and the sub flooring. the boards underneath nove when you walk on them..causing sawdust for lack of a better word. dirt and oils from your bodies and the dogs and things that have fallen on the carpet. dirty shoes. the padding deteriorating...its all normal. you will never truely get the floor clean. the only way to do that is to remove the carpet completely.

- Used them many times and they are very reasonably priced. If you aren't moving your furniture (which we didn't) make sure they put everything up on blocks so as not to stain the carpets until they dry. It's a normal procedure for them but they can mess up and your wood or fabric that touches the wet carpet will stain it. When they are done your carpets should only be damp and not wet to the touch. If they are wet don't let them leave until the carpets are only damp. Stanley Steemer is a franchise operation so not all franchises are great. I use them for a whole house cleaning but use my own steam cleaner much more often. I have saved a lot of money by owning my own steam cleaning machine which is a Bissell. I can keep up on carpet cleaning routinely as opposed to waiting until the carpets are in dire need. I would recommend after you use Stanley to buy your own cleaner.

- Under-rugs are for if you need a heavier rug all of a sudden you can put this on under a normal rug using a piece of equipment called surcingle which is like a girth that goes all the way around your horse to keep the rug(s) in place because the under rugs don't have the stomach straps that normal rugs do. I was going to buy one for my thoroughbred because this is our first winter together and we are worried about her keeping wait on but don't want to buy loads of rugs. Hope this helps.

- Q: How do you get nail polish out of carpet?
- Well I am answering it a little late - 37 minutes late, but right away u should have used a dry towel to soak up excess polish. Then, used nail polish remover to get it out. If it was a dark color and this didn't work, you could have tried bakingsoda with water, or a good oxy clean formula ( be sure to follow directions on back carefully)
