If you can't then you have 3 different estimates. When choosing the carpet. Bend the sample in half. If you can see the backing choose a different carpet. You don't want to be able to see the backing if possible. The denser the carpeting the better it will hold up to wear. Get the best padding you can afford. If you have pets get a vapor proof liner pad. If it is a berber carpeting it should be stretched drum tight.

Q:When my carpets are cleaned at first, they are perfectly clean and I have a friend who owns a carpet company who doesn't just steam clean the carpets. I'm tired of hiring expensive carpet cleaners where they look great for a month or so; then these same spots seem to come back plus additional hairballs which I try to catch as soon as I can.Thanks.: what method do you actually use to clean your carpets? since the same spots are resurfacing and thats the area where your cats are then i bet you need to have the actually padding replaced there and probably the carpet as well. you dont want to ever let a pet get too comfortable in one area. they are attracted to their own smell. have that padding/carpet replaced and cleaned. and every so often rotate their area so they arent used to just one area. i know it may not be the best budget wise but with pets having carpet is the worst. tile is much better.

The exception is when you have cherry floors which darken from the sunlight. Then when you move a rug you have a much lighter area of wood where the rug was. Sometimes the backing from the rug may dull the floor but a quick clean up with soapy water will restore the finish shine. Good luck---

If it is the same spot, something there probably smells yummy, especially if it just started up one day. If the kitten has always done it, this makes answering the question a little tricky. Sometimes cats will lick at something if they have some sort of nutrient or iron deficiency.
