Q:I am re carpeting my attic, is installing a new carpet pad and carpet hard? what about installing carpet on stairs?
If your in good condition and are handy with your hands you stand some what of a chance. If you have a room that is wider than 12 feet you will need a seam this means you have to straight edge the back of the carpet without cutting the nap, if you cut the nap and seam it together you'll have a nasty line where the two pieces come together. Or if the carpet goes out of one room and into another you may need a door seam. then there are certain ways the carpet needs to be stretched. these are the tools you'll need stretching the carpet right is very important hammer tin snips - to cut tack strip, keep tack strip 3/8 inch away from wall pins on tack strip point to wall Knee kicker - this tool can make you walk funny for days maybe weeks, you can get water on the knee if you get a bad miss, it will make your back sore, from the jarring. Pain Killers knee pads a sharp knife a bloody marry works the best, this tool will give you lots of stitches so be very careful Pain Killers and couple Beers power stretcher Pain Killers stair tool, for tucking carpet to wall hammer stapler and staples- to staple down pad then if you have a seam you'll need seam iron, seam tape straight edge and lots of experience and a weight. So all in all if you never done it you.ll have a job ahead of you that you may wish that you never started and then to get someone to finish it will be a problem. $139.00 send the money But if you do choose to do it yourself find an Flooring Supply Store buy your supplies there box of tack strip 400 l.f. $24.00 plus they'll answer any questions and tell you what you need to know. Maybe you'll find an installer to help you here in California Home Depot installers are pretty much beginners (and hide all valuables) spent the $139.00
Q:I want the Rambo turnout lite in a 5ft or a 5ft 3, but whenever I contact an intenet seller about this, they say that Rambo rugs only go down to a 5ft 6. Is this true? If so, it is very stupid. Especially as Rambo rugs are such a large fit. My horse is meant to be a size 5ft 9, but he's wearing the Rambo lite in a size 5ft 9 right now and it is hanging off him, I measured it and it's 9 inches too long.
don't get a rambo rug then :) they obviously don't have the size for your horse. some brands don't e.g. they have only small sizes for ponies and some will have only large sizes for horses. rambo isn't the only brand of rug out there, and it's not the best either (in my opinion)
Q:trying to refinish a 98 buick park and avoid having to but new carpet in, also any tips for leather?
Resolve spray carpet cleaner, a small stiff bristle nylon brush, and a small wet/dry vacuum cleaner...do small section at a time so you can see the difference... Look around for a good leather cleaner/conditioner
Q:who start the idea of red carpet day and why?
Good color for pictures, it's also a symbol of royalty.
Q:I just bought this big wool shag Rug.. and its really nice except it shedding..there is red hair balls everywere... on the floor...on my cloths ...its almost like having a big red dog that sheds constantly! what can i do ? is there something to spay on it ? someone suggested to me to use hairspray???... any advice?
Hi, okorder /
Q:How can a nylon carpet be distinguished from a polyester carpet?
Polyester carpet is a kind of carpet, also known as PET is a kind of polyester carpet, carpet made of polyester yarn woven polyester yarn, and belongs to a synthetic fiber, is a kind of artificial fiber and processing of various materials often special after its soft, high performance, and color rich layers polyester carpet and discoloration resistance is relatively high, can natural dyeing, elastic, relatively resistant, so it is often used in commercial buildings, offices, factories and homes.Polyester is widely used in the textile industry, so polyester carpet is welcomed by everyone, it is widely used, and the wear resistance of polyester polyester carpet inherited and excellent qualitative performance, makes the carpet in the use of many times after deformation, wear, and quality products are popular.
Q:How to remove the carpet floating Plush
Change one, it's no use anyway.
Q:I got some nail polish on our carpeting. How do I clean it off? It's red nail polish on light tan carpet and it looks terrible!
You can usually just cut the nail polish off with scissors. Dissect any clumps first by cutting them in half or thirds or smaller. Then just cut the very tips of the fibers. Work slowly. Don't cut a single millimeter more than you have to and pull up while cutting. This will help prevent divots in the carpet. Try your best to cut just one or two fibers at a time...not whole clumps. This will work unless you have already used a solvent and worked the polish further into the carpet. Also...cutting the polish works on shag, frieze, and plush carpets, but not loopy carpets, like Berber. If you've worked the polish further into the carpet or if you have a loopy carpet, you can fix the problem with a carpet transplant. Carpet transplant: 1. Cut the stained area out using a razor knife. Be careful to cut only the carpet, not the padding under it. 2. Cut a replace piece of carpet from somewhere no one sees, like from inside of a closet. If you have leftover carpet that matches, use this. 3. Trace around the ruined piece of carpet on a piece of paper. This will be your template for the new piece. You want an EXACT match in both shape and size. 4. Use your template to cut the replace piece. 5. Glue or sew the new piece into place. If you use glue, make sure it is waterproof glue. If you would rather sew the piece to the existing carpet, you will need a curved needle. The repair should be undetectable once you're done.
Q:I have waxed tile floor.s White in color, Thay turn yellow under the rugs, and wont clean , what causes it ? And how can I get the yellowing off .
Clean the spots with baking soda. This should take care of it if it is not a permanent stain.
Q:My horse lives in a paddock all week round and with the current climate in sydney its hot one day and raining the next. I live in sydney and he lives 2.5 hours away. He is on an agistment property but i only see him on weekends and the people feed him for me. Are there any rugs that you can think of that are breathable but fairly waterproof and would keep him dry in this annoying weather. TThank you so much and also please only answer if you actually have something helpful to contribute.
It's NOT alright to leave a rug on a horse all winter long! the only time you should put any kind of blanket on a horse is if it actually *needs* it AND you can remove it as the weather changes. You can't do that from 2.5 hours away. Mother Nature has designed the horse to manage its own temperature and shed rain just fine, but as soon as you start putting clothes on the horse, you interfere with that wonderful thermoregulation system. If you can't put on and take off the clothes to keep the horse comfortable as the weather changes, you really shouldn't interfere with the horse's ability to keep himself comfortable. Really! Horses live in every climate on Earth, from subzero to burning hot, desert to rainforest and everything in between. It's only silly human arrogance and our concepts of comfort that make us think we can manage our horses' comfort better than they can.
