Q: Moving in dorms. Rugs help please?
The first rugs you are looking at are called, Scatter rugs for the most part. They should have larger sizes. Bear in mind that most carpet is made in 12 feet widths. The length can be any, but the normal room size rug sizes are 9 X 12, 12 X 12 and up. Those dimensions are in feet. The smaller rugs may be 4 X 6, 6 X 9, and some smaller. If you wish to cover the largest part of your floor, you must measure the room. Then keep in mind the 12 feet width. Do not overlook doors which must clear a rug. You may have consider a size that will avoid a door dragging the carpet. You mentioned covering the entire house, which is Wall to Wall. This requires installation. You may not be permitted to do this in a dorm room, and if you did, you cannot remove it and keep it. I noticed that some prices on that site run up to $338 and up. Those are likely room size rugs, 9 X 12 or so. A cushion underlayment will cost extra. Measure your room and start from there.
Q: Can polyester carpet be washed?
Its material can't be more common, so how can it not be washed?
Q: My 2 year old female has taken up the habit of scratching and soiling rugs in our bathroom. We wash or replace the rug, but she keeps doing it! We also clean out the litterbox everyday, and wash it once a week. She also has multiple scratching posts, toys, etc. She eats only hard food and has clean water on a daily basis. We also have 1 other male cat who is 3. Please help! NO STUPID ANSWERS!
Old Cat Lady is right. Listen to your elders. OK sorry that was stupid. I would just sorta tap them on the head or spray them when they do that, or take the rugs out of the b-room and replace them w mats.
Q: what is a jewelled rug?
i think you may be talking about a jewel toned rug. jewel tone colors are bright, deep, and saturated, jewel tones in red, blue, purple, green and yellow can add graphic punch to any room. go to the target website and search for jewel tone rugs. they have a pic of one. hope this helps!
Q: is a carpet cleaner job hard or an easy job?
i would ask Nate
Q: Why do your feet feel cooler on a tile floor than on a warm rug?Select one of the options below as your answer:A. The tile is a poor conductor.B. The rug is a good conductor.C. The tile is a better insulator than the rug.D. The rug is a better insulator than the tile.
The tile has a higher specific heat (The specific heat is the amount of heat per unit mass required to raise the temperature by one degree Celsius) compared to the rug Also the rug is Warm in the first place
Q: what is the best product for removing pet smell from the carpet in home? thanks
theres a product called OdoBan. In my area it is available at walmart and menards. not sure if you have those where you are but I have found it to be effective. Nothing is going to take the odors out completely, your going to have to work diligently to keep pets from having accidents on the carpet. main reason I no longer have pets. lol.
Q: How do I clean my large area rugs? I have hardwood floors and the rugs are covering different areas. Two are 4 x 7 rugs and the other is a 5 x 7 wool carpet. I don't want to harm the wood floors underneath with cleaners...
Although I have all of my large area rugs professionally cleaned once a year, I use the Resolve dry granulated carpet cleaner several times a year. Since it is dry, it doesn't saturate into the flooring below. You simply sprinkle it on the rug, agitate it into the fibers with the brush on a stick that comes with it and wait til it dries to vacuum it up. It leaves a nice scent, it isn't expensive and the gallon size should be enough to do all of your rugs a few times. I use it on my Tibetan wool and my silk area rugs without fear of damage. I also use it for spot cleaning on the rug under my dining room table and it takes out the stains with little effort.
Q: my dog had one to many accidents on my carpet what is the best carpet cleaner to use.
Well if you're meaning carpet shampooer I like Bissell Resolve is a good carpet cleaning liquid
Q: I need to replace my 45 year old carpet. It is showing it's age. But one thing that has never been done is having it re stretched. Not one wrinkle. It lays as flat and tight as the day it was put in. So this beings up the question. quot;Should a properly installed wall to wall carpet ever need to be re stretched?quot; I have noticed many carpets in newer homes that are all wrinkled. And many people I've talked with after installing carpet need to have it stretched again, sometimes more then twice. Is this an inherent problem with what the carpets are made of now days? By the way my carpet is wool.
Carpet restretching could be necessary from poor installation, the carpet not being stretched enough when it was installed, but it can also be caused by the carpet backing stretching. Carpet backing can stretch from being poorly made, or from humidity or temperature fluctuations. Sometimes even well made and properly installed carpet needs to be restretched. Sometimes poorly made and poorly installed carpet never needs to be restretched. Few carpets besides wool would last 45 years, congrats on keeping your carpet going for so long!
