Q: Moving in dorms. Rugs help please?
The first rugs you are looking at are called, Scatter rugs for the most part. They should have larger sizes. Bear in mind that most carpet is made in 12 feet widths. The length can be any, but the normal room size rug sizes are 9 X 12, 12 X 12 and up. Those dimensions are in feet. The smaller rugs may be 4 X 6, 6 X 9, and some smaller. If you wish to cover the largest part of your floor, you must measure the room. Then keep in mind the 12 feet width. Do not overlook doors which must clear a rug. You may have consider a size that will avoid a door dragging the carpet. You mentioned covering the entire house, which is Wall to Wall. This requires installation. You may not be permitted to do this in a dorm room, and if you did, you cannot remove it and keep it. I noticed that some prices on that site run up to $338 and up. Those are likely room size rugs, 9 X 12 or so. A cushion underlayment will cost extra. Measure your room and start from there.
Q: I recently moved into my first apartment and its pretty nice except for the carpet in the living room. Its a kight green color and it's just full if stains. I would love to just put a new carpet in but thats not really practical because I'm just renting the place. It waould cost stanley steamers about $100 to clean it but this carpet is really old and stained. Would it even be worth that? I'm afraid I'm gonna spend the money and it's still gonna look gross
Make sure you take before pictures! that way when you move out you wont get blamed for the stains. Sears will clean 2 rooms for $69. You could buy a green machine handheld cleaner for that price too. Most grocery stores have the rental steam cleaners for less. If you go for the professional company then they have to get it clean or they wont make you pay.
Q: I just recently moved and the carpet in the bedroom is brown. I don't have the money to replace it, but I would like to brighten it. I can tell at one point it was a very dark brown and has lightened up over time. I would like to know how to darken it without having to replace it yet. Is there a way to darken it?
I would use a large throw rug.
Q: does anyone know how to get the smell of urine out of carpet, ive trieed ferbreeze but its not doing it, any suggestions...
One thing that always works and is inexpensive as well. Rubbing alcohol. Here's how you do it: Pour and I mean really pour the rubbing alcohol on to the carpet and completely soak the stain. Then fold up a few paper towels and put directly on the stain. Find some books that are really heavy...like phone books or anything that will cover the stain and let it sit for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, replace the paper towels and do again. Keep doing this until no more stain comes out on to the paper towels. This works, but does take some time. By the way, rubbing alcohol will never hurt the carpet.
Q: its brand new.. but it smells awful.. like a burnt popcorn/broken vacuum smell.i tried to let it air out for days .. not working.. and its too heavy to bring otuside.. its very light colored.. is it okay to ripe it down with soap and water and a rag?? will the soap do anything to the rug?and is there a better option? to wash it with
I don't think it will help, and it shouldn't hurt. Have you tried FeBreeze? and an open window with a fan in front exhausting the smell?
Q: Let me first say, I am Christian. I want readers input on this: I am praying daily in my home. I would like a prayer rug, a Muslim prayer rug. I don't think it has any value to my prayers. I just like the idea of praying from the rug. What is your take of this idea? Thank you.
This idea doesn't bother me. As long as you know that the prayer rug will not do anything for you or help your prayers be heard. It is only by Jesus your prayers are heard.
Q: I want to do carpet business. Now what kind of carpet do you sell well?
There are people who like the traditional point of view, such consumers mainly like patterns, traditions, patterns, those more carpets, many of these consumers are elderly people. There are about two kinds of carpets: 1. the woven carpets made by the manufacturers over there in Shandong, and the ones with a bright pattern. 2., the production of wool, handmade rubber back carpet, like 80 step wool, 120 step wool carpet and so on.It's also strongly recommended that you open a children's carpet area in the store. Now the parents are special love for their children, with children and children of carpet carpet, now the domestic share is quite large, there are many patterns are very cute, very beautiful, parents will be happy to pay.
Q: Rather than step into his litter box, that stays clean because I know how picky cats are, he'll crap on my bathroom rugs with his litter box not a foot away from him. Is it a territorial thing? Would he stop if I bought new rugs? I'd have already thrown his butt outside, but he's declawed. I hate having to keep my bathroom rugs folded over all the time because of the little stinker.
We have an 8 year old cat who started doing this after I rescued another kitty and she started coming the house. I tried everything I could think of, from picking up his poop and putting it in the box. My vet says he's just trying to get the point across to me, because he was the head honcho for 5 years, and all of a sudden he had to share us. I did, however, realise that there are some kitty litters that he just doesn't like. He hates the clumping litter, and doesn't like Tidy Cat clay litter. So I started buying Fresh Step clay litter, and during the warm months when the other cat is mostly outside, he uses his box 100%. Sometimes it just takes alot of patience and waiting for cats to come around. Try changing the litter brand? He may just be trying to adjust to a new home....you probably don't know it's history, so who knows if there is any abuse in it's background. Cat's pretty much do what they want, when they want...all we can do is be loving and patient. Best of luck to you. BTW- don't you just love all the idiotic answers you get. You are trying to ask a legit question, and you get brain-dead people answering. I sure hope they aren't animal owners.
Q: I recently bought quot;Natures Best: Urine Destroyerquot; from petsmart amp; the worker that helped me said I could use in it my carpet cleaner. I haven t used it yet, but has anyone ever used it in their carpet cleaner or know if it ll mess it up? Thanks!
Don't use it in your carpet cleaner. The sales associate is clueless. Nature's Best is an enzyme destroyer. It's used to pull animal urine out of carpets and underlay. To work properly, the product is applied LIBERALLY to the area, using enough to completely soak the carpet and underlay all the way down to the subfloor. As it dries, it pulls the ammonia from the urine out of the carpet and carpet pad. Most carpet cleaners do not spray enough liquid to totally soak through the carpet AND underlay. And the enzymes work as they dry.. It's a waste of money to suck up all of the product you just put on the carpet to clean out the odor. I'd suggest using Nature's Miracle first. After a few days, when the product has finished working and there is no more odor, steam clean your carpets as you normally would to clean them.
Q: Every summer, my horse gets attacked by the flies on her belly and no creams seem to help. I was looking for an attachment onto her rug which allows her belly to be covered... but couldn't find one - can anyone suggest anything that might help me? Thank you.
