Q: My mother in law is trying to sell the home we currantly live in and needs to put new carpet in and I have heard mixed reviews about it.. I live in a townhouse and there isnt a lot of windows to vent air.. What should I do?
What would need to be vented? Its carpet not paint I replaced my carpet when I was pregnant with my 3rd **Edit: Seriously a td!? You women at night kill me Guess I will stick to the day timers where I'm *appreciated*

Q: hello, im getting a horse soonshe is a 15.3hh 5year old mare irish type sorti live in eastern england so the weather is pretty changeable :/i was looking at some horse rugs and i found some i like i thought that i would get 6 (3 stable 3 turnouts)i was going to get a :12oz/340g filled turnout9oz/250g filled turnoutand a no fill turnout sheet.14oz/400g filled stable8oz/220g filled stableand a waffle/fleece stable do u think that would be ok? first time horse owner you see want to get it right :) do i need more or more heavy filled rugs??thanks xXp.s the horse will be out in the summer months and in at night out during the day in winter
Sounds good, just also get a few cotton rugs hoods, and maybe a polar fleece or wool under rug. Also maybe a fly sheet for summer. Keep the cottons under your heavy turnouts always because the turnouts are a bugger to wash. I have 3 cotton sets on rotation for each horse and throw them in the washing machine every 2 weeks. My only thoughts would be do you need both levels of fill stable rugs? You could always put a fleece underneath the lower fill if it was extra cold or wear the higher fill turnout inside. My boys tend to wear their turnout rugs in the stable as well unless its too warm, which is why I ask. Don't know whether this helps, the weather may be very different (i think maybe my winters/fall/spring are a bit warmer) and also the types of rugs available may differ but my ponies outfits are summer: day- light cotton flag rug cotton hood or fly sheet (never naked because of showing, their coats fade) summer night: cotton rug hood or ripstop or both if cooler. Autumn/fall spring: day: cotton + light canvas or cotton + polar fleece night: 180fill turnout rug/neck rug over cotton Winter: Day: cotton + polar fleece + canvas (or no fill turnout instead of canvas if wet) Night: cotton + 250 or 300 fill turnout rug neck rug. once clipped which is usually early winter they get cotton rug, polar fleece hood polar fleece rug + 250 fill turnout. This is just in general, of course I does vary according to weather changes. They are stabled at night and out during the day all year except on their end of summer 'holidays' when they run around naked in the paddock for a few weeks. :) I love rug shopping, it becomes very addictive, beware! :P If you are in the uk, get this hood rug set, I love it :) bestturnedout .uk/images/bsheep... My horses would probably be embarrassed to be seen in it never speak to me again, but I like it, bit too expensive to ship to Australia sadly though :(
Q: I have a brand new rug that is less than a week old. Every time I lift it up and sweep I have piles of white fine powder. That,s at least 3 times a day. Does anyone know what this is. I 'm thinking of taking it back.
The 'powder' comes from the packing process as well as the glue that holds the pile to the rug base. This is very typical when dealing with tufted synthetic rugs. It can also indicate dry rot or moth infestation but since it is new, it is likely the glue as I mentioned before.
Q: How to judge the quality of carpet?
A hand to touch the carpet pile, the quality of its products is high, the carpet surface density is plump, elastic carpet such good resistance, abrasion resistance, trample, comfortable and durable. Don't take here to remind consumers to select method to select the plush carpet, seemingly fluffy 20molecules good-looking, but not easy to pile pile density, lodging deformation, this carpet is not anti stampede, performance carpet unique and easy to lose, not durable.
Q: Yesterday morning the toilet supply line to our toilet burst, and as a result we had crazy flooding. I would say close to half the carpet in our 2 bedroom apartment was drenched, with the neighbors downstairs getting a lot of the extra water.Anyways, they have removed a lot of the padding and set up fans under the carpet to dry it. Here almost two days later the carpet is close to dry, but this places reeks of that lovely mildew smell.....Everyone I have talked to said they should have just replaced the carpet. Do you think we can request they do it if the smell persists?
If the landlord had a professional service do the restoring you will be OK with relaying the carpet with new pad. It is normal for a professional Restoration Company to be able to fix a flooded carpet. They will dry the carpet using fans. then the carpet will be treated for mold. Then it will be cleaned and reinstalled. If you had your own home and your own insurance company, this is what an insurance company does. If the landlord just had a handy man do the repair, ask for a professional restoration co to do the cleaning and installing. It is unusual for a professional company not to be able to save the carpet with only a clean water flooded.
Q: Did you realise that professional carpet cleaning is recommended every 6-12 months? How often do you have your carpet cleaned? Who cleaned your carpet was it a company or did you clean your carpet yourself?
Regardless of which machine I use, I prefer Rug Doctor cleaning solutions, as they seem to work the best. Also, having the proper cleaning procedure will give you the best results with the least amount of time and expense. Always follow the manufacturer's recommendations with equipment as well as follow label direction on all cleaning products.
Q: Every summer, my horse gets attacked by the flies on her belly and no creams seem to help. I was looking for an attachment onto her rug which allows her belly to be covered... but couldn't find one - can anyone suggest anything that might help me? Thank you.
An extremely simple and free way to effectively protect her from flies is to cover the section that is being attacked with wet mud and to let it cake on and dry.
Q: Ok the horse will be living in the UK in the south were it can get cold in the middle of winter and very hot in the summer. I have written a list of rugs, Could anybody tell me if it will be suitable for a horse which will be turned out. Heavy Weight Stable Rug (300g)Middle Weight Stable Rug (110g)FleeceHeavy Turnout Rug (350g)Middle Weight Turnout Rug (200g)Rambo Hooded Fly SheetI may have over estimated a little or perhaps its not enough? I would prefer to get rugs i can layer up so i dont have to buy quite as many to begin with. Also do i need an exercise sheet or is this an extra? Thanks for you help! :D
Wow thats quite a list :P but anyway i live in the UK to so i know about how cold it gets one thing i would make sure to do is that on the middleweight and heavyweight turnouts, make aure they have necks, either detachable or built in. This is because it gets cold so your horse needs to be as warm as possible also it depends on the breed of the horse but you might want a lightweight summer turnout sheet , maybe for windy days, light rain or just to keep your horse clean :) an exercise sheet is a good buy if you hack out alot or dont have an idoor school and you wont need the fly sheet until the summer as with the L/W turnout :) good luck with your horse hope this helped x
