Q: The carpet in my store is about 5 years old. It has some places that have what looks to be a bubbles. Is there any glue that I could inject thou the carpet and put a weight on the place to hold it down?
Hi, former floor covering business owner here-yes you can purchase carpet glue and a syringe from Home Depot, Lowes, possibly Menards. If you are unable to find it there ask a local carpet store if they would sell you some. Tell them it is in a commercial area and is a safety hazard. They generally do not want to do the carpet repair for you and consider the job too small, and if they did they would charge a large labor fee. It could be that the surface (debris left on floor)the glue was originally placed on was not prepared properly or the environmental conditions(too cold, too hot) were not favorable. Also, perhaps the glue or carpet was defective. We were surprised to receive so many defective products and carpet and constantly found that we would have to consult our area representative to rectify customer complaints. Hope this helps............
Q: I can't seem to find a bamboo rug that is larger than 10x8. I need to know if there's anywhere that I can custom order a larger bamboo rug closer to 11x15.Please help!!!

Q: how do you make a rug?
Depends on what kind of rug you want. You can go to a carpet store to buy a remnant, then purchase an easy finishing edge cording so it doesn't get ratty edges. Or you can do some quilting and attach it to a straw or rubber type mat. Try googling DIY Rugs and look at all the different types you can make and what the materials would cost. There are so many choices!
Q: Me couple of friends are looking to get carpet to do up a quot;cubby housequot;. Crap carpet seems to be 90 to 100 dollars per broadloom metre new. Obviously it does not have to very good quality. Is there any wayyy cheaper solution to this? (South of Perth, Western Australia)
you can get carpet way cheaper then that in NSW - Tell them to shop around in WA Otherwise just buy off cuts or ask carpet retailers if they have any orders that were not purchased - they usually do have cancelled orders - try that
Q: Hi,I am a tenant and had a leakage from a dishwasher. now carpet is wet and smelly.around 1 square meter is the carpet area affected. I told the landlord about it. My question is should I remove the carpet myself in the meantime just to prevent mould from building up?As long as I took pictures I am safe doing it if landlord does not send someone to fix within say 48 hours?Regardless, is it not the best thing to do anyway - remove the wet section and put in garbage until they come to install new carpet? is trying to dry and clean it instead an option?THANKS
Since you are a tenant, the carpet is the owner's property. You didn't mention if the wet spot smelled like mold so I am going to assume your answer would be yes. Since it has not been wet for very long from you, it may have gotten wet and moldy from a prior tenant and when it got wet from you, it reactivated the mold smell. The important thing is to get the water off the carpet from the top and under. If you have a wet/dry vac, vacuum as much as you can. You can also put towels down on the wet carpet and step on it. Keep doing that until you get up as much moisture as you can. What professionals do once that is done is they lift the carpet up and have a fan facing the wet carpet. The moving air will help dry it. You should not lift the carpet up yourself so you don't risk doing any damage to the carpet and have to pay for it yourself. As a tenant I would suggest you let the landlord take care of it. Make sure you put it in writing, depending on how responsive your landlord is. Date the letter and keep a copy for yourself. If the landlord does not take care of it within a reasonable period of time, you can call a professional and deduct it from your rent. If you do not have all of it in writing, you are not protected by tenant laws. I'm not sure what is considered a reasonable period of time for wet carpet.
Q: How to do fireproofing treatment to carpet
there is no good way, since it is easy to catch fire, how can place carpet, that is not pure wool carpet, how to pass is hard, like the hotel carpet tufted carpet or other woven carpet, scutcheon: no open fire and no smoking, the best way is to go the hotel that is operating to see.
Q: I am putting in 2 subs in my car with a plate so the subs look like the back of the trunk. Problem is that my carpet has quickly deteorated due to my previous box and I want to replace it. I am going to cut out a plywood sheet to fix the bottom of the car then install the carpet on that. The plywood is going to have a hinge to swing it up so I can get to the spare tired + add extra support. I need to do this by saturday before the subs are installed. What thickness plywood should I use (Thinner is better for me and I am going to drill holes in it for weight reduction) and how do I install the auto carpet so it's smooth and looks nice. Thanks!!!
Get a gallon jug of Acetone from Home Depot in the paint department. Pull all the old carpet up, pull up the tarboard sound deadening material, then pour out the Acetone and scrub the floor using steel wool to clean up any glue or tar that might be on the floor. Once you've got the floor pans clean, paint them with flat black paint to protect them from rusting. Finally, you can find replacement carpet at a parts store, just glue it down with contact cement.
Q: I am trying to find a practical solution to carpeting my basement with pets and kids in the house. I was looking at carpet tile because I can just replace a worn or stained piece. Has anyone here used carpet tile? What brand did you buy and how did it hold up? Can this be easily installed or do I need a pro? Any tips?
i have used carpet tile for what i wanted it was perfect!! VERY VERY EASY to install (much easier than peel press tile) easy to trim- we used it because i wanted an ultra low nap carpet in the baby's room (she had severe dust allergies) the rest of the house we removed all the carpet down to the cement floor. the only 'issue' i have had is that with constant picking at it a tile can be pulled up (small bored child LOL!) but if you keep any extras its easily replaced) we had no dogs at the time so cannot speak to that if i had it to do over.... i wouldnt have bothered. we LOVE the cement floor. once she out grew the crawling stage the only carpets we use now are throw rugs that are easily cleaned i would never go back to having any carpet by choice. the plain flooring can be polished/ stained or left as is- its especially nice in the looooong summer weather we have here. in the winter the throw rugs warm it up. if you truly dont like the cement - consider the new floating wood floors like pergo- you might be happier in the long run- remember that if you are prone to any kind of flooding in your basement carpet holds mold (yecch!) rj
Q: is there any good dust removal methods for the carpet with lots of dust at home?
Point out one point specially: Because of its natural lanolin. Sometimes the surface needs to be brushed with cotton dipped in cold water. 2, make it bright as new 3. Although the texture of the carpet will change in a long time.
Q: dried into wool rug
steam clean the rug and then apply a product called Urine Gone. it works really well. After about an hour or so, stem clean the rug again.
