- Q: i have a 600w rms and a 300w rms amp the 600w amp has an 80a fuse and the 300w has two 25a fuses right now i have two seperate power cable for each amp going to the battery the inline fuse for the 600w amp is 100a and the inline fuse for the 300w amp is 50a (i need to swich to a 60a i know) they both have 8awg power cables 100a amps is about all a n 8 awg can handle so what i want to do is run a single zero guage cable to the firewall than on the inside of the vehicle have a distribution block what i need to know is -what guage wire should i use for the power wire at the battery-what size fuses to use and how many-the locations i should put the fusesthanks i pick best answers fast
- i would use 4ga. wire at the battery with a 120 curcuit breaker about 12-18 inches from the batery then 6-8 gauge off the dist.box to the amps
- Q: My brother lost the cable from the wall to the back of the power supply for his dell somehow, and I have one for a different brand (gateway). Are the cables themselves an interchangeable industry standard?
- Desktops...yes. Laptops...no.
- Q: Hey! I bought a new sound system for my truck including 4 new speakers, a sub, a 5-channel amp, and I'm running all new wiring. So far I've got the 3 RCA cables ran, along with the blue remote turn-on wire along the right side of my truck. I plan to run the Power wire down the left side and then to my amp.I've heard that you put the power wire and RCA cables on different sides, which is what I've done, but is it ok for my speaker wires to be run beside or close to the power wire(4-gauge fyi)? For example, the right side speaker wires wont be near it, but the left side speaker wires will be...Will this cause any weird noise from my speakers?I don't have the names/etc of all my gear right in front of me, but if u rly need it, I will quot;add detailsfor you! Thanks!!
- Good....That will depend on how tremendous the amp is. An extension twine has either 2 or three wires inside of at someplace between sixteen and 12 gauge wire. You could twist the entire conductors together and be good up to about forty amps with three 12 gauge wires. The obstacle with amplifiers is present now not voltage. The thicker the wire the extra present it's going to manage. Most any wire you purchase is rated at least 120V. Determine what measurement fuse the amp requires, whether it is greater than 30 to 40 amps i would buy the correct size single wire for the amp. Additionally, fuse the wire at the battery. Fireplace shouldn't be our friend. :)
- Q: If I put pressure on the cord I have power but its almost impossable to work. A local computer repair said I have to replace the mother board. Can't the plug in the back be replaced? Thanks!
- Your local PC repair shop must be run by mildly retarded individuals...a loose power cable has nothing to do with your motherboard. You can try getting a new plug...if that doesn't work I might try replacing the power supply... LOL dr.bucksnort....I love it...nice one
- Q: a. the potential difference between the forward and rear feet when the bear crawlsb. the potential difference between the bear and the cablec. the coulomb force between the bear who obtains charges when passing by the cable and the cabled. none of them
- a. The bear has completed a circuit between the cable and the ground. Electrical current takes the path of least resistance and will flow through him rather than through the air which has a low conductance. Since the bear has a resistance the electrical energy will do work (the energy it takes to move electrons from one potential to another) to over come his resistance and some of the energy will be transferred to heat. This is why people who are electrocuted will burn from the inside out.
- Q: I live in Chicago, and I want to know if somebody can help me. The next house on mine have electrical power cable, telefon and cable from my back yard and pas my propriety aprox 60 tf, the last two stay on my garage, its legal ?Know haw i can do to move the cable? some codes or regulation, samething? Thanks, Best regards.
- I do not know the codes or regulations in Chicago but i do know in most states it against the law to have power lines resting on a structure. Those two lines resting on the garage could be the cable and phone company's and that is not against the law. However you could call the phone company and cable company and ask them to move them for you. If you can make a valid point that those lines are causing you harm or disturbing you in anyway possible then the company's will have to move it. And for the power cables there is probably nothing you can do unless it is really resting on your garage. But they will just tighten the line and not actually move it.
- Q: my portable HD has 2 USB cables, one for the computer and one for power... why?
- many devices get power from usb. however the new hard disks, required higher current/power to run and it cannot be provided through single usb cable. hence you have to use two cables.
- Q: So my computer monitor keeps flickering on and off and I'm pretty sure the cable just needs to be replaced. My concerns or questions are,-Are all power cables compatible, or do I need a specific one for my model?-If not compatible, how do I tell what type of monitor I have or what it's model is?Deeply appreciated,Lauren
- Hi Lauren, Dell monitors use the same power cable as the system tower does. They are interchangeable. You may try swapping the power cables of the monitor and the tower to be sure that the cable is faulty. Hope this helps. Regards, GauravS
- Q: what would happen if i used a 10 guage power cable on a 2400 watt amp, would it blow the fuse of would the amp just creat less power? thnx
- 10 gauge should only be used to go from amp to speakers because its such a short distance. according to rockford fosgate you will lose 1157 watts of your possible 2400 watts possible. in short it would cause close to 50% less power and you would probably fry your power cable. and if you go above 2,000 watts it is actually unsafe to run smaller than 1/0 gauge power wire.
- Q: types of computer cables and where they are being used?
- For communication between devices in the computer, such as the hard drive and the motherboard, either IDE or SATA cables are used. For power, Its either a 3 or 4-pin power connector, though some things have two pins (like fan connections to the mother board). Also, the SATA devices use SATA power cables.
