- You Cannot dye a sofa. That'd be pretty awesome if you could though. The best option is getting a covering for it that you can buy to fit your sofa. Custom made- which can be costly, but looks fab!

- Dogs don't generalize very well, so letting him up on one piece of furniture will not make him think he can get up on all furniture. Don't worry about people telling you to keep him on the floor or he will think he's alpha......that's nonsense. My dogs all get on the furniture, they are allowed, unless humans need the space,then they get off.

- For the weight of your sofa I suggest buying the forearm forklift from the As seen on TV web sight. I have used these moving many items and makes even the heaviest items seem much lighter. If you are having to turn and lift and contour your sofa to get it to fit into the doorway then I would go ahead and remove the sofa sleeper section just be sure you secure it from opening once removed...zip ties work great for that.

- A 100% polyester microfiber. Additional hint - cats don't like citrus smells. When you get your new sofa, place lemons on plates on each cushion under the sofa to deter the cat. Pretty soon the cat will associate the sofa with a citrus smell will resist getting the urge to scratch. There are also citrus scented cat deterrant sprays at the pet store. Before you sell the old sofa though, consider buying cut yardage of the fabric have the areas that are torn reupholstered. Call your furniture store see if cut yardage is available. But, if the sofa was inexpensive in the first place, you might as well buy new.

- Q: I was just removing some nail polish off my nails when I was sitting on the sofa (in the dark), and I decided that I needed to get a new cotton pad and put some nail polish remover (NPR from now on). Well, the nozzle part of the NPR bottle (the part that stops a whole load of it coming out) came off and got stuck in the lid and I didn't notice. Well, I went to pour it onto the cotton pad, and a WHOLE LOAD of it came out onto the sofa. Now there's a really strong smell coming from it, and my mum is practically crying (I don't know why, shes a bloody drama queen and the smell bothers her) and she's yelling at me. - Get soap and stuff that makes things smell better like Lysol and scrub the soap on the sofa and spray Lysol or any product that makes things smell better and get a cotton ball and rub it on the place with the nail polish remover and pour water on it and wait for it to dry after you do that repeat what you did again and it will be better ( Trust me this happened to me to!)

- As long as she's command sponsored, on your orders, 45 days should be enough time. Do you have a sponsor in Germany yet? If so, I'd ask my sponsor to keep track of the SOFA Stamp request. If you don't have a sponsor write your Senior Enlisted Advisor (or whatever your branch calls it... CSM?) and ask for assistance keeping track of it. Good communications is the key. Make sure your new command knows how to contact you at all times so that if there's a snag they can let you know what's going on.
