Q: My husband and I are expecting our first baby in February; we also rent a two story house. The baby's bedroom has white carpet but it has like... hot pink and purple stains, which I think is either marker or make-up from the prior tenants children. Would a Rug Doctor be able to get out marker/make-up stains?: Have used Rug Doctor, in the past, with great success. I would recommend, however, trying a cheap home made remedy first. I would be afraid to use Windex because it contains ammonia and ammonia can permanently discolor the carpet. If you have any kind of shaving cream, spray that on the stain, wait, and blot up, see if that helps. If it doesn't, I would make sure that when I rented the Rug Doctor, I'd also purchase a bottle of their Rug Doctor spot remover. We used this, with the rented Rug Doctor machine and the results were fantastic. Good Luck.

Q: The corners on my rugs are starting to curl up because they are getting old.. and loved! They go perfectly with the rest of my decor so I don't what to have to go find new ones.: You can go for various rug pads available online.Another option would be use Two sided tape and paste in on floor and the next step is stick a Velcro on the tape and the other part of the Velcro on bottom edge of the rug. This will surely help your old rug from curling up from edges.

Vinegar is a food and most of us consume vinegar. Actually if there is too much soap in your carpet the vinegar will work against the soap and gradually the dirty soap will leave your carpet. All you need is vinegar and warm water. I put vinegar in my automatic washing machine for the final rinse it does the job of the more expensive fabric conditioners even the whites and I never wash my black and denim and very dark colours in soap as eventually it leaves little white spots of soap on the clothes. I wash my dark clothes and denim in vinegar and for the rest I put it in the final rinse. Vinegar is also the best thing to clean your microwave. Just put a dollop of vinegar in a microwaveable bowl of water and turn on the microwave for 5 minutes. Then remove the bowl from your microwave as the vinegar in the steam will of loosened all dirt in your microwave then squeeze out your dish cloth and wipe the inside of the microwave and the dirt just disappears onto your cloth. 2 seconds and my microwave is clean and dont discard the vinegar water untill after you have finished cooking as it will absorb all the cooking smells from your kitchen.. Vinegar is also good for sunburn even on children. I bought a book called the vinegar book and their are 1000s of things you can use vinegar for including a gargle for sore throats provided it is diluted with water of course so I would advise anyone to buy themselves a copy of the vinegar book Vinegar is a disinfectant and I only buy the cheapest bottle I can see on the supermarket shelf and it works the same as the dear stuff. One last important thing although I put vinegar in my bath water in hospital after an operation please keep it away from the eyes. And one last thing vinegar is a disinfectant But it must be kept away from the eyes.

To remove wall to wall carpet, you need to have a good carpet knife; a good HD vacuum, and a smooth edge nail puller. Simply pull off the carpet from the smooth edge strips, then remove the strips with a nail puller. You may want to sand the floor where the nail strips were, but use steel wool and you won't have as much work for the refinish. OR call up a carpet removal/installer for his quote for the job.

Q: ive been looking online but i have no idea what size to get him.. he is a pacer or a trotter, standard bred// i think 19hands..all the rugs ive found online say 5.9 6.0 etc.. how do i know what.what my horse is?: rugs are sized in feet and inches, and are measured from the centre of his chest to the point of his rump, this will give you a feet and inches length for the length of the rug. they are usually sized in 3 inches, so 5'9, 6, 6'3, 6'6 etc. from the photos he looks to be about 16 hands - he's gorgeous by the way - and not too long, so he will probably need something between a 6 and a 6'6. it's better to have them slightly too long than too short. my tb is massive, he's 17.1 and really long and stringy and he wears a 7' and sometimes a 7'3 rug depending on the make. it's great because they are the ones that are always on sale because no one ever buys them. :)
