- Well when it comes to bench pressing both incline and flat the rule of thumb is for your arms to make a 90 degree angle, going all the way down to your chest wont give you more gains in fact it can cause injury. Im guessing the same applies to dumbbells.

- You should not worry about how much you can bench press. You should worry about form and reps. For you i would to higher reps and lower weight. That would be oriented for fat loss and toning. Also women would want to do A LOT less of flat bench press and stick to incline and decline bench press. This is due to breasts, flat bench will flatten out your chest, while upper and lower will lift.
