Q: I need to buy an office chair but I weigh 300lbs. Know where I can get one that supports that much weight yet is still under $150.00? Thanks.. P.S. Smart asses keep your comments to yourself.
Office Chairs For Overweight People
Q: I am about to buy a high chair for my baby. Any recommendations as to brand, model, etc? What features do you think are most important to have? Thank you!
The high chair I have is the Fisher-Price Ocean Wonders. I like the fact that it can recline (that was handy when I just started my little guy on solids), the tray and the tray cover are easy to clean (there are no nooks and crannies for food to get stuck in), it has a toy that attaches to the tray with fun music (my son adores it) and it has two little toys that hang off the side (I like the fact that they hang off the side so they don't distract baby while he's eating). The seat cover is a vinyl/plastic material so its easy to clean (I haven't put in the washing machine yet though). It is bulky but most high chairs are. Plus, I got it on a huge discount!!
Q: I am renting out white chair covers that include the sashes I have all the colors of sash that anyone may ask for. I am asking 2.00 per chair is this the going rate I started with 2.50 but not sure it was to much so now I am asking less.
we had my daughter's wedding out side in this structure that looked likr roman arches and it was great...seriously lovely and then she had a 3 peice instrument violins, cello and it was beautiful and we rented chairs and the only problem was that after the event what do to with the chairs? we ended up having one or two people stay and pack them...(they were the best) and then the chair company picked them up...and yes $2.00 was the price have you considered the arrangments of chair pick ups? or is this something that you provide? in our case it wasn't really a thought of theft but we did not want to chance having to pay for 'x amount of chairs just walking off ...good luck sounds great and i like the idea of having the sashes match a host of dress colors
Q: How to create and arrange a simple and fun game for my elderly patients which mobility bounded by chair or wheel chair?thanks for the help
Balloon Volley Ball.Divide your patients into 2 equal groups in a line facing each other about 6 feet apart. Inflate a good sized balloon with air and use it as the volleyball. They can easily hit the balloon back and forth and no risk of injury. History trivia games... choose some trivia that is from their earlier days or history in general. Give points for correct answers and have a simple prize for the winner. You might want to make ribbons as the awards, giving to top 3 highest scores. Plant a garden. Start by having them work at a table filling small peat cups with potting soil and planting the seeds in them. Then place the peat cups outside in a location where they can be seen by the patients when they go out in their wheel chair. When the seedlings are big enough, plant them in the ground so they can watch them grow. You could use vegetable seeds so they can enjoy having fresh veggies from their garden when it grows. Have a Parade. Help them decorate their wheelchairs with balloons, ribbons, stickers, silk flowers, what ever you have available. Stage an indoor parade, going down the halls. Everyone will get a kick out of this, even the patients that are not in wheelchairs enjoy watching the parade. You could choose a holiday themed event like St Patricks Day, Valentines Day or a Hawaiian Luao, 50's... I also planned a family reunion, inviting their families to come for one afternoon and bring all the grand-children, it was a real hit. Invite the local elementary school or high school to come and give a performance by their band or chorus group. Also a big hit and the schools are usually very willing to participate. Hope this helps. I worked as an activities director in a nursing home many years ago and this was by far the most rewarding job I have ever had. They really appreciate what you do for them.
Q: There seems to be a lingering perception that old folks prefer to relax comfortably in wood rocking chairs, a perception that is perhaps reinforced in films and television shows that depict the characters of older people enjoying their wood rocking chairs. All four of my grandparents and both of my parents prefer the comfort of overstuffed reclining chairs during the final decades of their lives. My siblings and I (we're in our 60's and 70's) also enjoy the comfort of reclining chairs.
I have a wing chair that rocks. I would think a wooden one would be uncomfortable. I don't know if what you say is actually true. It sounds like something from an old novel or movie, like Boo Radley's chair rocking on the rickety old porch, or something. Or Norman Bates' mother in the basement. I don't really rock in my chair all that often, only if one of the animals is sitting in my lap. They seem to like the motion of rocking.
Q: I noticed a lot of baby shower registries have a $400 rocking chair on them. the stores are packed with 500 choices of chairs. So I was wondering how important is it REALLY?Did you/do you really use yours with your new born?
They tend to be very helpful in getting a baby to calm (and even sleep)! So they're not a necessity (like a crib) but they're incredibly handy. I found my favorite at an unfinished furniture store. $60 for the rocker plus $50 for the stain and a good cushion.
Q: A chair of mass 12kg is pushed along a level floor by a force that is at an angle of θ=35.0degrees below the horizontal. The coefficient of friction between the chair and the floor is ?=0.430. The power that the force provides to move the chair in a straight line at a constant speed of 3.8m/s is?
0.43*12*9.81*3.8 = 192.35 watts
Q: i had the chair removed frm fireplace 2 have a gasfire fitted........now we wish 2 reopen fire and go bck 2 the real thing........i need 2 no how do i go bout getting the chair replaced and who do u go 2 , 2 fit it back as i can not remba who took it out as it was 18yrs go
The term 'chair' regarding a fireplace is new to me, and I don't know where you are from. In the US, look up 'fireplaces' (or possibly chimneys) in the yellow pages. Real fireplaces--made of firebrick, not an insert--are a lost art, so a typical bricklayer (mason) may not know how to do them.
Q: I like it in the Classic Boucle, in the color Black Iris.It was designed in 1948, by the same guy who designed the Gateway Arch in St. Louis. It's my dream chair. What do you think?
It does look like a very nice chair. Since it was designed by a civil engineer, the price, cant be considered too ridiculous. I think you have answered you own Q though since you did say it's your dream chair. I wouldn't let stranger get in the way of my dreams.
Q: i have one of those music chairs with the 2 speakers, and subwoofer, but is there a way to take that awful subwoofer out and put in a new one? theres not a place to unzip the chair or anything, but the subwoofer distorts on about every song that i play. and what can i replace it with to make it have a lil bass without distortion?
Interesting question...let's see if I can be of any help. The way I see it, you have roughly two choices here (3 actually, but I'll save it for last.) 1) You can take the chair apart to get to the speaker, take it out and either replace it with a similar one (like a car subwoofer speaker - check the Ohm rating) or get the broken one fixed. 2) You could bypass the subwoofer altogether - but you'd have to find the wires to it and carefully disconnect them without shorting them. Then go and buy another inexpensive subwoofer, hook it up directly to your receiver (assuming that you had a receiver driving the chair system) - making sure to place the sub right next to (or under) the chair - to get a similar butt massage effect from the bass. or 3) toss the whole mess out. graduate and get a real speaker/subwoofer set up instead. Hope this kind of helps. I was serious with the first two ideas, the thrid was admittedly a wee bit glib. Please forgive me.
